  • I have tried your method verbatim and all I get is a blank Safari page....

What am I doing wrong? I have checked the image suffix for .jpg and I have followed every one of your syntaxes to the letter...

  • no matter what I do I can"t get my phot to display.what is a file extension by the way.

  • it works 100% ,merci mon ami

  • YOU STOLE MY DOG

  • You sir, deserve a cookie. This helped a ton

  • youtube.com

  • Thank you so much man!!!!!!

  • i see what the problem is.

when i save an image i never put the .jpg extension after it.

    but now it worked!!

    thanks alot :)

  • thanks.. your vid helped alot!! ^^

  • thanks :D

  • I tried everything! I saved an image from paint as png file and that did not work either

  • no, it did not work..i dont know what to do=/

  • @mikawahwah The file name can also be case sensitive. Also can you try adding a "/" slash right before the closing ">" symbol? That will close the element, and your browser may be getting tripped up on that.

  • Hi! Please help! I saved an image from google to my desktop and then followed your steps, but it doesn't work, all I sew is a square with an x in it. What am I doing wrong?? Help!!!!

  • @mikawahwah Can you maybe try using .jpg instead of .jpeg after the name of the file in your code? Let me know if that solves the problem.

  • I also tried doing this on regular notepad, same thing happened.

  • My image doesn't insert, it just shows a ripped piece of paper. I've tried a lot of things like moving the image to my folder that contains my index.html but it just shows up with the same thing. Help please? Also I am using Notepad++ and src text is red and the image text is purple. Sorry I am very new.

  • @Eman7002x Is your image a JPG, PNG, or GIF? Maybe the file extension isn't matching. I'm not sure what else could be causing the problem. Can you maybe message me the code you're using?

  • @Eman7002x sometimes a little difference in the actual file name and the one used in html can cause havoc.

  • awesome!

  • thanks man...your video helps me a lot

  • thanks. simple and clear instructions.

  • Thanks, LearnWeb, but I'm still just getting a red circle with an X, and the image name. What am I missing?

    Thanks....

  • hi, I tried, and I found out that I could only put "gif", not "jpg" image, how could I solve this?

"gif" image is not my first choice cause it will convert to a worser pic (lost of colour, and vague, when I click to convert the jpg to gif, the pc ask me "saving into this format may cause some loss of color information. Do you want to continue?).

Thank you so much for helping, and Great tutorial.

  • thank you

  • I bought a laptop that came with Ubuntu (Linux), and I've tried that code and it didn't work. Can some please to me what would I have do to add an Image ?

  • oh,thats my big problem sir,

the image doesnt work in my pageT_T

    wht should i do?!

  • what if i want to use an image on the internet and i dont have it in a folder? is there a way to pull it straight from the web? Also can everyone veiw the image even tho they do not have that image on there computer?

P.s. 4th day of web design class as a softmore, so i am new and was just wondering, thanks!

  • @xXxRadicalDesignsxXx If you want to use an image that is on the internet you include the full web address URL of the image file in the SRC attribute.

If you use an image that is already online, than yes, everyone else can view it. If you are using images from your PC, then you'll need to upload your entire site folder to a server using an FTP program.

I can make a new video to answer more questions if you share them. I took a web class as a junior :)

  • ya we are just barely touching on this subject in my class, so im just trying to get ahead lol. But this vid did explain a lot for me so thank you
