@rossylips15 sorry for the late reply. I think cheddar is used because it is a more sharp flavor, which is associated more with mac and cheese. but I say go for it
CRAP CRAP CRAP! I went to click the comments box and hit the thumbs down by mistake. I am so sorry Beth.
This looks like a good recipe, maybe needs a little onion, garlic powder and some smokey paprika I find those help kick mine up some. Thus certainly looks much faster then the way I make mine.
@Ultimatecruegirl You can actually change your vote simply by clicking thumbs up again. There's currently zero dislikes on the video, so your thumbs down didn't go through or you ended up correcting it anyways =D -- yay
Okay, I'm hallucinating - I'm certain I heard the theme song from Petticoat junction in the back ground. That's just nuts. Yeah, I like the old fashioned way with a simple white sauce and the extra sharp cheddar melted into that. And I like to bake til the cheese is crunchy around the edges. Unfortunately my son prefers the crap out of the box. Oh well.
I think if you add about a 1/4 t. of mustard powder and maybe even onion powder you will find it boosts the taste of the cheese. Mac & Cheese is good but it can be flat tasting with no depth at all. I love the panco crust. My favorite crust is crushed cheese nips LOL Can't make it too cheesy :)
Good ol macncheese...gotta love it!! I usually make a moc bechemel with cornstarch and milk and add the cheese to that, makes it much more creamy inside and crunchy on the top. Blessings, Ang
i tried this, it turned out looking like crap
