What I like about tremors is that it doesn't take itself too seriously, I mean I don't know any true monster movies that I've seen that the people pole vault to stay away from the monster.

Also, I have to say I like this subtle shaking better than the knock the store off of its foundation shaking they use in the tv series.

Also shriekers and ass blasters weren't involved because they wanted to show you how they hatch or what holds them, their first stages of their life also if you think about it the graboids seemed to need time and days to pass before shriekers appear.

Eh, Tremors just doesn't work without Kevin Bacon. He's like a redneck Luke Skywalker--the chemistry between Bacon and Ward is what makes the movie great, not the monsters.

The subsequent movies ranged from pretty good to pretty damn awful, but they never recaptured this.

Like the end with Burt firing away with that joyous look on his face. If we saw the fourth one first we wouldn't know the scene was a precursor of Good memories to come.
