  • Thank you so much! This is a beautiful scarf - an easy way to do row 1 is: k1, *sl 1, k1, YO, pass the slipped stitch over 2* repeat between *'s, knit the last stitch.

  • I just got a great stocking hat pattern from knittingpatternoftheday (.) com and Grandma Nutt is adorable!

  • Thanks, I've been wanting to make this scarf for a while, but haven't taken a good look at the written instructions. Thank you so much for the visual demo of it =)

  • thanks ♥

  • thank you so much :]]

  • i cant knit... : I

  • Thanks so much for this. I'd have had a hard time with the written directions without your visual. Scarf is coming along nicely! Using Malabrigo in place of Manos.

  • whoa! can u believe today for my final project I picked knitting so during class i did some practices and now when i forgot i gorgot how to do it. y is it so difficult? huh?

  • wooahhh you knited a huge scarf

how long did that take? years?

  • is there any name to the stitch?

  • manos del uruguay

  • thank you, thank you, thank you.

  • HEHE i do it the wrong way

  • Ok, I really can't do the knit side. What do you mean by pass one over? That' the part that gets me. The purl side I can do ok, but I need a bit of practice.

  • Yeah, that looks kinda confusing. Maybe it will be easier if I actually do it. Looks pretty cool.

  • No entiendo un corcho de como teje... pero Arriba Manos del Uruguay!

  • wonderful video. great stitch combination. never saw this

  • hi this is cool how long did it take you to do this and how much did you work at it?

  • huh?

  • thanks girl you really know your stuff thanks again

  • I had read your comment on Ravelry that you had made this. Thank you so much for the video. I understand it now.

  • I tried it with the vidoe and IT WORKED..

Thank you so much its very nice :-D

  • This is helpful for the first row, but not so on the second row. It's very hard to see what's going on. I'd love to be able to share this with some of my group members!!!

  • I loved this pattern - it was easy to lean!

the results are interesting they look like weaving and feel like crocheting. I used malabrigo variegated and the results were marvelous - though I never completed the project...

  • I am not the author of the pattern. Sorry the video is blurry, You Tube's compression affected the video quality, but also - my webcam isn't easily focusable. Maybe one day I'll re-record the video, but it won't be anytime soon, unfortunately.

  • Not only is she not the author it, the author of it isn't even the author. It's a simple stitch pattern that you can find in most stitch dictionaries - in mine (and on several places online), it's called Little Herringbone. Once you master the mechanics of the stitches it's the easiest pattern in the world. I, for one, appreciate the time and the effort of that person who made this video. If anyone thinks they can do a better job, they should give it a try themselves...or else hush. :)

  • this video was very helpful people. wtch it

  • hi! found you! that was fun...i have no desire or motivation to knit but it was kinda trippy watching a youtube video of one of my friends. 12,000 views...in the future, everyone will have 15 minutes of knitting fame.

  • It's good to see how this is made, especially in the continental knittng :). I cannot believe how popular this pattern is on Ravelry!

  • Thank you for posting! Now, I can finally figure out how to make your beautiful scarf!

  • Someone knows what is Uruguay?? ^^

  • Buy yourself a world map, please!

  • I found this difficult to follow because I couldn't see the stitches due to the dark yarn...

  • i wanted 2 let all u knitters out there know about the project im working on this winter. i, along with my art honor society, plan 2 knit for the homeless this winter. i personally plan 2 knit scarves cuz im not a fast or experienced knitter. so the reason im sharing this is bcuz i hope that many of u would be interested in doing the same thing on ur own: knit 4 the homeless this winter!

    :)

  • I probably won't be making a new video of this scarf any time soon, sorry - I've got a bunch of other projects I'm working on. But, you can find the full pattern I used and the materials on my blog (see the description of this video for the link)

    good luck

  • i'm do in the scark right now but i started with 16 points and now i have 18

  • thanks for sharing that video maybe you could do another but with a lightter yarn because in blue it's just difficult to see. hey to do the scarf how much yarn did you need?

  • Thanx for this instructional video. I started this scarf after watching your video, and then I ripped it out after i was only half-way thru the first row b/c i thought that it was too weird and time consuming. Then, after watching this for a second time, i realized that I end up doing that for alot of projects... ripping them out because i am lazy. So, i am going to cast-on and finish this scarf if it kills me! =] lol thanx for the video!!

  • You sooo don't know how to spell Uruguay haha

  • Aguante Uruguay

  • This is the "My So-called Scarf" stitch pattern, correct? It's helpful to have a video to see how this is done. I agree w/ ThiaLam about the grabbing the stitch -- that's hard to see in the video and I don't quite get it yet....

  • Oh GOOD another continental knitter! However since most Americans knit throwing/English style you have lost most of 'em!

  • =( I still don't understand the grabbing stitch part( after passing the stitch over), everything else I understand.

  • By the looks of it, she's knitting a stitch while she is passing the other stitch over. "grabbing" the working yarn.

  • You can also just do the slip stitch, knit stitch, yo before slipping the slipped stitch over. Same effect less hassle.

  • I take it you are an english knitter as am I. But I also knti continental from time to time, but anyway. You slip 1, k1, then before you do a psso, do an YO and the psso the knit stitch and the YO. different instructions, same result. Hope that helps.

  • thanks so much for sharing. this makes it so much easier to do. :)

  • wow!!! amazing!!!
