  • You got to take the plug out of it

  • @biigcountry1120 there aint a plug in this model. it is a designated bird gun.

  • I have 2 questions about this gun.

I have the Ted Williams m200 which is the exact same gun.

It only holds 3 shells. Is there any way to convert into 5?

Also is there a way to convert it to a 3" instead of a 2 3/4?

  • @duke0031 not that I am aware of

  • There is a much easier way to remove and install the gas piston (spring retainer). If the gun is reasonably maintained, pull the spring back as you did with the screwdriver and then pull the pin with your other hand. You can use the action bars to lift the pin up a little. Then hold the piston in place in the magazine with your finger and release the spring. Gently let the piston and spring come out. It is under some pressure but it's not that bad if you're expecting it.

  • Dam, is there a gun you don't know your way around? Great vid Will!

  • @outdoorrat well I do Like to tinker I am no expert buy far.but I have been known to tinker with a gun or two! lol.

  • numeric should have em. If it runs I wouldnt worry about it. I think they are used as spacers to keep the forearm from splitting.

  • Hi, Iam Bill Miller from Scotland, I have the same Gun When I watched your Video ( which was Great ) I noticed I do NOT have the two washers you refer to after taking out the Mag Cap at the front of the gun. will THIS CAUSE ME ANY TROUBLE. very interested to know.

If I need them where do I buy them. I have an other question but I will write later for that one.

Many thanks for your help. Keep the videos coming they are great Cheers B/Miller.

  • thank you for up loading this video. you put up the only video that i have seen for the 1400. it helped a lot.

  • Great Video. Just got one of these and was looking for any info on tearing it down to see how gummed up it is and what to watch out for.

    Thanks for posting!

  • Thanks for your vids....

  • Good video, love the part where you set the action on a roll of duct tape. Classic.

  • I'd love to see you break down the trigger assembly

  • @11KappaAlpha If I run across anotherone I will certainly do it for you. This one belongs to a buddy who loaned me it for this video.I promised I would clean it up real good for him.

  • very helpful i had to change out the cocking handle bridge the litle elbow broke and the firing pin cames loose i took it apart last hunting season and forgot how it came apart please keep adding videos ill bbe watching thanks

  • Thanks so much for posting the videos, I have a 1400 that pasted down to me..That really needs a good break down cleaning, but I didn't know how..Now, It's perfectly clean..stripped down cleaned to the bone! Again thanks so much. Hope you make some more instructional videos.

  • ey my bolt on my 1400 is really hard to pull back do u have any advise

  • @ethanoful check to see that the bridge is not catching in your action and check the main spring. may be just gunked up. I cleaned this one and it cycled A TON better.

  • Do you happen to know what the difference is between the 1400 and the 1400 MKII? I'm assuming the 1400 is the original or older model. Which would you consider better built?

  • Does anybody know where I can get a 12 guage barrel for one of these for a good price? I have a 1400 in perfect condition except for the barrel. I reblued it myself and it didn't turn out too bad, it just doesn't do the rest of the gun justice.

  • @X1danno1 I would refinish the barrel again or have it redone by someone else. chances are if you find a bbl for that one it will have to be refinished anyways. just my opinion. corsons barrels.com probally has what you need if you go with the replacement but I dont know the condition of them.

  • I've been told that the 1400 doesnt come in a pump skeet grade but thats what I have and the barrel says 1400. So I must not have the original barrel on it huh?

  • @atifirepro1 I am pretty sure the barrels are interchangeable. so someone probably swapped a 1400 barrel into your 1300 pump.

  • There's probably a lot of guys that would like to see how you dealt with the safety issue that you mentioned in the disassembly video.

  • @adminwrh yea I wish I would have videoed it. he just had a spring out of position. one I popped the leg of the spring in the little groove It popped right in.

  • @willwood487 I'd have never guessed it without pulling the hammer out and actually seeing it. Maybe I should pull it back out, video tape it, get a guy with a James Earl Jones voice to narrate and post it as a resonse to your video.

  • @adminwrh ?

  • Great video! and perfect timing on making this video just be for i needed it. thanks to you i not only cleaned my dads 1400 but also found out that he is missing the washers to the forearm. any idea where to get these?

  • @ineedname0 try numeric gun parts they have them. .gunpartscorp

  • Good video, man you can fix any gun great job

  • @GARYMANDIEVAN I am still learning. but thanks for the vote of confidence.

  • Good one. Very informative and interesting.:-)

  • @ZeaMoore4 I hope I can help a few folks get started into tinkering with their firearms. Somethings you can do yourself. saves big at the gunsmith! lol

  • @willwood487 And it gives a better understanding of there firearm. Both how it works and why it works. I realy like feildstrip and comparison videos.

PS. No'n of the other channels i sub to have a sniper rifle feildstrip. Do you have a sniper rifle? If you do, could you do a feildstrip. I'd like to see how one looks inside. :-) You ofcourse don't have to buy one just for that though.

  • @ZeaMoore4 All I have that comes close is a marlin 917v in .17hmr and a .30/06 savage 110. if I get my hands on one I will do one up for you brother. Most guys aint gonna let you fiddle with their prize rifles. especially if they got em running good. Some one someday will have me work on one.

  • @willwood487 Yeah, it's understandeble that thay don't wanna give somone a sniper rifle just to pick it apart. Expensive and it's very personal. Everyone likes there rifles in there own spesial way. I have no experiens with ether rifle, but what i could watch and read tels me thay era both good rifles. I'd favor the Savage 110. Looks like more funn.

  • @ZeaMoore4 I am taking it on a hog hunt during march. some time after that I will be tearing it down and refinishing it and installing a new stock. she gonna be a beauty.

  • @willwood487 I do hope a good long video is coming up on that :-)

  • cool video. I know a few people that could use this. Several folks have these shotguns. I will pass it along.

  • @TheCromeShop Iaght den hope you weather the storm that is coming. they say its going to be bad!

  • @willwood487 yep, about to head out for propane and kerosene.

  • I used to have a pair of these...wish i would have kept them. They were both fast and reliable.

  • @sdt11670 good bird guns. I like one with the full choke bbl. this one is improved.

  • @willwood487 I had two interchangeable barrels with choke tubes and one fixed full choke barrel between my two guns.
