@dim432 You mean Henry the 8th (there has yet to be a 9th) He banned all sports EXCEPT archery. Why? Because all the other sports were distracting his archers from practicing, and he needed those Longbowmen to be able to fight.
We still play this in my town in cumbria but we call it Uppies and Downies and one team has to get it to the docks and the other team has to get it to a nearby castle but its not as brutal but people still get hurt a bit
