@morrisl123 because this Flash was the very original, Jay Garrick was then replaced by Wally West who wears the mask. The costume is plain since he was made during the WW2 era. I believe his helmet is based off of the Hermes wings which is supposed to represent speed. As far as what I read seems the girl is based off another character called The Silver Banshee. If you DC wiki all this it'll answer everything

Giant bank-robbing cacti anyone? or how about the giant rainbow-colored bear? Ever hear of the age-reduction ray turning Batman into a toddler? How shiny and gold Batwoman's original costume was? or the always awesome "Batman Sold Out!" xD

Believe me, Batman has a more "colorful" history than you can imagine!

The Flash's powers have gotten exaggerated to a really bad extent. T.V shows generally tone it down to what his power originally was, which was somewhere faster than a bullet. Two, the Flash's powers aren't biological and they have to actively activate them. No one really does anything with this but that would mean(in theory) that you could take the flash by surprise. Though they say they've trained themselves to activate it by instinct whenever their feel danger.

"Scream Queen" (the woman in the cloak with screaming powers) was an original villain unique to the BTBATB series. It seems she's an toned down version of the Silver Banshee, who is normally a Superman villain. The series intentionally uses the lesser known heroes who have same name identities like Green Lantern or the Flash. That's why you see more episodes with either Guy Gardner as GL or Jay Garrick's Flash.

Jay may still be my favorite Flash. The later Flashs are too nice to crooks compared to Jay. Jay used to beat the **** out of crooks back in the 40s. Throwing them through walls, plowing the ground with their faces, making them run with him, forcing confessions out of people, and dragging them so their shoes melt on their feet. Pretty entertaining stuff.

I love batman, but i think this is lacking in bad-assery. Just not my lovely dark knight with his awesome villians, not like it used to be. I get that its more light-hearted and kid friendly, but come on! Batman deals with Scarecrows who torture with fear gas and uses scythes, it should be dark in all aspects. you can't take the elements of batman and make it kid friendly without making it go to shit. Its not bad, but its not batman in the same sense at the original comics, BTAS, and movies. :[

As a kid Barry was my flash, but I sort of loved the way The Golden Age flash reminded me of 'Mercury'. I liked the color of his costume. Im not a fan of Brave & Bold, looks to much like a kid's cartoon, like the teen titans. Kind of wondered why JLA was more popular than JSA because JSA was first. I like Jay, but he has a dork personality like the other flashes, even at his age. Well, want to see more of him. I like speedesters & Green Latern or DC only.

Personally, I like The Brave and the Bold. For one thing, it gives Green Arrow and a lot of the other second-tier heroes a chance to shine. For another, if they tried to measure up to the more familiar incarnations of Batman like "Batman: The Animated Series," I think we all realize that it would fail miserably in doing so.
