You know, considering the new Commandante got shot by the Eagle's men last episode and now Garcia almost got killed by them, it makes me wonder if Monastario's arrest wasn't manipulated/ordered by the Eagle too. Say what you want about Monastario, but he certainly would've been to proud to follow the Eagle's orders, so perhaps the viceroy who arrested him was one of the Eagle's men too, or at least got manipulated by them.
@Blackadder125 I think it's more likely that - in-universe - Monastario would have found himself trying to play Zorro against Eagle to pick off the winner, under the idea that the enemy of my enemy.. is a very manipulateable resource. Barring that intricate three-way chess game (likely too complex for 50's TV), Monastario might have temporarily "turned face" and ended up helping Zorro.
That or Rojas would have assassinated him instead of Capitan Mirendez(?), as a threat to Eagle's plans.
Like man no boby messes with Tornado. Tornado gets mean when it's come to saving Zorro when he capture. hurt, or unconcious. Tornado is there to save him. TORNADO KICK THE BAD GUY BUTT!
Go Tornado. Tornado is the hero. Tornado save Zorro when he hit that rock, then that guy saw him lieing there unconcious. so he grab a stick and trys to hit Zorro but lucking for Zorro that Tornado came alon to save. In Tornado mind, he was saying, stay back, and don;t you dare hurt Zorro.
"Maybe I am a fool, but I think it would be politer to catch Zorro another time, don't you?" Out of this world! This series is as great as when I first saw it over 50 years ago!!! Thanks to CorporalReyes!
ZORRO as a show is a combination of elements, all of which don't occur in every episode, but which recur often enough. I mean, Garcia and Reyes are not Pozzo and Lucky; they're not Abbott and Costello. But the "Just tell me where you hid the money" joke really is funny because of Reyes' dead pan. In another episode, they actually sing a duet about sergeants vs. corporals, which is to say, the inland version of South Pacific.
I want an attack horse...

At least Garcia was grateful enough not to chase Zorro that day. He knows the meaning of gratitude.
