its funny how all the people comments like they know boxing,.,you all really dont know what will happen when u are in the ring,.,evrybody says to the boxers that they should do this ,should do that,.blah,blah,blah!<.,u dont know nothing unless you all are in the ring with the best fighters,.,why dont u guys go in front of pacquiao nd margarito inside the ring so u would know what it feels to beat and get beaten,.
hey man, great vid..i think you're right about pacquiao's speed at lower weights is not as quick against bigger guys..although i think that Pacquiao's chin is as durable as heavy guys like margarito..so i think if he fights marquez even if Marquez lands punches like in the second fight Pac would still win, and Marquez has a chin but still he gets knocked down..i think the numbers game will be for Pacquiao..
Islander, a quick question on a particular lineage for you. The 175lb lineage is the one that confuses me. Not so much the recent lineage but the lineage concerning Roy Jones Jr and Dariusz Michalczewski. What's the deal with that? For my mind Michalczewski had 3 of the "big 4" before being stripped, then a year later Jones collects 3 of them but they never faced off. Who was the rightful lineal champion in your opinion? Or, was there even a true champion?
@baldylocks2009 Its tricky, but the last TRUE Linear champion was Michael Spinks back in 1985. Michaelczewski was thought to be the man again like you say especially after beating Virgil Hill who beat Henry Maske unifying WBA and IBF so to me I would go in that direction which had Julio Gonzalez beating him then losing, etc.
you're saying that it has more sense saying that mayweather is the linear champ bcoz he beat mosley that beat margarito that beat cotto.?? pacquiao can claim that too... he beat margarito (w/c btw ducked by mayweather), then beat cotto who beat mosley...
@4watchingonly22 Only problem with your claim is that Pac beat up guys who were already beaten up by somebody else. Mayweather beat Baldomir who beat Judah who beat Spinks. Who has beaten Mayweather? Margarito beat Cotto before Pac, they both beat Clottey before Pac, Mosley beat Margarito and Mayweather beat Mosley and nobody has beaten Mayweather yet. So, yes that is my claim. Before you start using the word racist, read the all the comments to see the consequences. I'm not Black or Asian.
@boxinginfo - first of all... i dont think i used "racist" word in my comment... i dont know from where you got that one...
anyway, as u mention in your reply... manny is lesser than mayweather bcoz he beat the already beaten guys.. let me just point this.. out of the three i mentioned (mosley, cotto & margarito), pacquiao beat two of those.. unlike mayweather, he beat only one...yah...only one...and no other than grandpa mosley.. maybe mayweather will fight the other two... after 5 years..
@4watchingonly22 The racist thing was just a warning. It doesn't matter that Manny beat 3 of them what matters is when he beat them. Example, just because he beat Marquez doesn't make him the linear 135lb champ b/c Marquez accomplished those things later. In regards to Mayweather there is a lineage trace. Pacquiao beating Cotto means little in terms of true Welter supremacy since Margarito beat him first. Manny is NOT lesser than FMJ, FMJ has won the linear 147 title and never lost. CONT
@4watchingonly22 CONT. I don't like FMJ but what I do know is he beat Baldomir who was linear who beat Judah who beat Spinks who unified with Mayorga who unified w/Forrest. HBO said the Cotto(WBA)-Margarito(IBF who stripped him) fight would determine the new KING. Margo beat Cotto then Mosley beat Margo then FMJ beat Mosley. Fighting all the guys who have been beaten when they don't have linear titles doesn't advance your case for linear champion.
@boxinginfo - one more thing.. regarding your point that manny is looking more skillful when hes fighting the bigger ("robot") guys... than fighting the likes of marquez and morales... well, if (& if only) your logic is.. a small boxer with speed and relatively skillful, will beat the bigger ("robot") boxers or let say, will look "good" against them... then my question is.. how is that at this point of time.. only paacquiao is doing it?? i mean..why not mayweather challenge Pwill or martinez??
@4watchingonly22 Either I mis spoke or didn't make myself clear. Pacquiao isn't any less skilled when fighting smaller men, that is not what I meant. What I meant to say is that his speed appears to be more against DLH, Hatton, Cotto, Clottey, and Margarito than it does against Marquez, Barrera, Morales, Solis, etc.
@boxinginfo - I do respect your opinion.. regarding who beat who.. but the thing is.. as they say.. style makes fight... so we will never know unless they will fight all themselvs.. in this case.. hope mayweather will come out and fight.. coz for me.. i dont thnk that theres anybody out there worhty to be mannys opponent... no disrespect to marquez.. but at this time... i dont think it will be competitiv as the 2 before.. (even if he'll drink all mexicans' pee)
@4watchingonly22 I'll address the Marquez fight in the next video. IN regards to everybody fighting everybody: Pac has fought Cotto, Clottey Margo. Margarito has fought Clottey,Cotto, Mosley, Pac. Cotto has fought Mosley, Margo, Clottey, Pac. Mosley has fought Cotto, Margo, Mayweather. Clottey has fought Margo, Cotto, Pac. The only ones left are Mosley-Clottey, Pac-Mosley, Pac-FMJ and we pretty much complete the round robin of Cotto Margarito Clottey PAC and Mosley.
ok. thanks. i get your point. but i dont think pacquiao will be interested in defending his title now. he will always go to have a title that he still doesnt have.
@boxinginfo he beats a great fighter early in his career. becoz we know that now is his prime. i actually getting tired of watching him becoz he is always winning big time. i wish there is still a fighter out there who can give him a great fight not just good fight
@boxinginfo you said about trinidad delahoya arguello and chavez title defences. may i know if they defend that titles against a A+ fighter??? pacquiao can be one of the greatest not becoz of how many title defences he has but becoz he demolish every fighter out there. maybe there are many fighters who have more title defences than pacquiao but they defend that against who??? he is always smaller against his opponents that includes barrera and morales
@babyfaceassassin21 Question #1 YES they did defend against A+ fighters, not all of them, and like PAC David Diaz and Jorge Solis are lucky to be "B-" fighters. Who you ask? Arguello fought 16 different current/past world champions only 1 of them he didn't beat and beat 1 of them twice back when being a world champion actually meant something and there weren't 10 titles per division like there are now. Chavez fought 17 world champions beat 15 of them a couple more than once. CONT.
@babyfaceassassin21 CONT. Arguello had 65 career KO's, Trinidad fought 15 world champions and beat 12 of them. I'm not discrediting Pacquiao, I'm trying to convey why guys like Arguello, Duran, and Chavez have spots on the all time list and Pacquiao while he is current does not but will when he retires. Floyd Mayweather for as much as I don't like him had 8 title defenses at 130lbs, it shows consistency and the ability to be motivated for the lesser fights as well.
I think the difference of Pacquiao to those great boxers, those legends concentrated only in one career and that was boxing for them. Pacquiao concentrated in boxing during early years in his twenties, but not recently. When he started to earn money, aside from boxing he divided his time in acting, singing, business and politics. Remember he´s not even100% trained in recent fight. So my point is, If he totally focus in boxing alone, he may clean all the fighters in one division before going up.
@HelloCactus1985 I guess tracing the lineage of the Welterweight division was part of those 3 minutes or was that part of your so called posturing? Then it must be the greatest of all time part of the video that qulaified for 3 minutes of information, no maybe it was the 8 minutes wasted on Haye-Harrison. Answering my own questions? Please be specific on which ones you want answered I promise I won't disappoint you.
I'll never say Pacquiao is better than Duran, Chavez or Arguello. BUT, Pacquiao is just a tough as those bastards! Pac could've fought in the 15 RD era. Just watch the first Morales fight when he lost. By the 11th & 12th Rounds, Morales wilted and was getting hurt. Manny was coming on strong and if it were a 15 Rd fight, you could easily argue that he would've KO'd Morales. Second fight with JMM, Pac was weight drained (just look at the weigh-in pics) and he went all 12 and won (barely).
@adp023 - Duran, Chavez, and Arguello are the TOP and the best of the best of all in Boxing. Legends!!!!! Though, I think Chavez go sucker'd into fighting the Goldenboy. How sad. Oscar was the bigger guy in that division.
It was in the 1:59mark of the 4th Round when Pac landed a looping left uppercut on margarito's right eye that changed everything. Margarito wiped his eye with his glove and the welt began to grow. Then Pac landed a left to the body a few seconds later. That's when the fight changed.
Listen to yourself, you raised that Four (4) lineal title BS disputing what Max Kellerman has raised. What you were implying in your video is that Max was not telling the truth about the 4 lineal titles. That is the point of dispute here Max never said 4 ORIGINAL of the 8 weight classes. Don't get carried away with your emotions when responding coz that is the easiest way to lose your credibility. And don't start a sentence with an insult and ask to be you be treated otherwise.
@mighk21 The only thing in dispute from where I sit is the exact words and context of Kellerman. I understood him to say that Pac had won titles in 7 weight classes as he was coming to the ring. And then said by old day standards he had won 4 titles of the original 8 weight classes, which I am not disputing. I understood Kellerman to have said that those 4 original weight classes were the LINEAR ones. I am NOT disputing Pac has won 4 linear titles, my dispute is over the context of the statement
@boxinginfo I was surprised the way Martinez floored Williams. I didn't know he carried that much power in his hand. I guess it was a perfect counter punch.
It's kind of interesting how he threw that punch, it seems he knew when Williams will throw a left hand punch and what to throw against it. Maybe Williams telegraph it for Martinez.. He must have studied Williams alot, he got him figured out.
@mighk21 All anybody has to do is go to your channel page and read the lovely comments other people have left for you. Then I can jump to the conclusion that no matter what I say in the video or comments you'll believe what you want to believe and twist my words around to make me a hater a racist an asshole or what ever. Maybe I heard Kellerman wrong. Hard to do when he's saying all kinds of other stupid things like Malignaggi is comparable to Billy Conn or any other revisionist history.
Islander what are the prerequisites for being an HBO commentator? Every time I watch HBO Boxing PPV and when MAX or Larry opens their mouths all I say is HUH.... What was that all about?
@mighk21 Islander has built credibility as the most knowledgeable commentator on YT (and most other venues) over some years now. If this is your first visit here, you need to listen closer, and to view past videos before reflexively commenting. You might learn something. How about you earn some credibility here by adding insight to the discussions here, and show us how deep your boxing knowledge is?
flyweight, featherweight, junior lightweight, and junior welterweight, this is pacquiaos four lineal titles. if u consider 8 original weight classes pacquiao still won with in four different weight classes of the old so u cant deny the fact that he DID win. may be welter and junior used to be one but with in that limit he did beat a real champion.
@AJreporter Nobody including myself is disagreeing with what you said. I was the 1ST PERSON to ever point out that Pacquiao was the ONLY boxer in history to win titles in 4 of the original 8 weight classes. If you don't believe me go back and watch the preview and recap videos of the Cotto fight.
Come on just google it up I already enumerated the Lineal Titles PAC got its Four (4) not Two(2) FOUR! Listen for once in your life! is it that hard for you just to google it? The only thing is with Sasakul's lineal championship its not officially recorded because The Ring stopped giving the belts for a time. Again stop misinforming people here not all is dumb to listen to your crap.
@mighk21 This why people (not me) call you guys PacTards! I never said Pacquiao didn't win 4 linear titles! I SAID Pacquiao DID NOT win Linear titles in 4 of the ORIGINAL 8 weight classes. Learn how to listen to the video, learn how to read what I write or please please 3 times please get a better command of the English language. I never said Pacquiao didn't win 4 linear titles he did 112,126,130,140 guess what? 130 and 140 ARE NOT part of the ORIGINAL 8. END OF STORY!
@boxinginfo Just ignore this people, they will jump on you if you say something they don’t agree on the subject of Pac. And these people are the same reason why other boxing fans wish Pac would loose or will discredit him just to shut these people up. They act as if they are the one winning those fight, and they get drunk on what ever sense of pride they receive on pacs achievement. This means they live an unproductive life, and Pac is the only source of pride for them. Sad.
With Sergio holding 2 middle weight belts EXPECT TO SEE A FIGHT on 2011 Pacquiao vs. Martinez. "THIS WILL BE A BIG SLUG FEST!" You could all forget about FLOYD!
With Sergio holding 2 middle weight EXPECT TO SEE A FIGHT on 2011 Pacquiao vs. Martinez. "THIS WILL BE A BIG SLUG FEST!" You could all forget about FLOYD!
Regarding your comment on Big Clumsy Fighters - I don't think Cotto is a "BIG CLUMSY FIGHTER" he happens to be a pretty good fighter who beat Mosley. Also you said a smaller fighter is able to beat Pac - that would be true if "Edwin Valero" was still alive. Amongst all the smaller fighters to have truely beaten Pac was Eric Morales. After that Pac KO'd Eric 2x. When did you ever see Eric on the canvas by another boxer? Finally, Juan or Brad don't have a chance. What do you say Islander?
@ega0117 Barrera put Morales down in their first fight 12th round. Pacquiao would eat up any fellow soutpaw, Valero would have ZERO chance. Correct me if I'm mistaken hasn't Pacquiao lost a fight at 108 and 112 and had a contentious technical draw with Agapito Sanchez at 122 before the loss to Morales at 130 and the close calls with Marquez at 130?
MARTINEZ VS WILLIAMS 2 is going to be so awesome! The first fight was amazing and i think this one is going to be even better...maybe even fight of the year!
It starts at 10pm est on Saturday, November 20, 2010.
Islander, you said that the lineal championship means more to you then belt collecting IF the "champion" in question is active (and,I presume, against the top contenders). Mayweather retired and therefore was no longer the champion. He came back and fought a lightweight and then beat Mosley in a non-title fight. I understand that you can trace the lineage through him BUT he holds no belt and has ducked the big challenges that Pacquiao has taken. I refuse to recognise him as the champion.
@laozi1 Question how do you consider the Mosley fight non title? BC the WBA didn't sanction it? With lineage those belts don't mean a thing. Think about when Zab Judah lost to Baldomir the only belt on the line was the WBC, the lineage still followed Baldomir. The controversy here is whether or not the winner of Margo-Cotto was recognized as the new linear champion after FMJ retired and if so like I was lead to believe then Mosley beat Margo and FMJ beat Mosley. If not then the title is vacant.
@boxinginfo here is where you flaw come in PAC is not claiming any lineal title in the welterweight division (the 4 he has). You are arguing the wrong division. Please just google it for pete sakes. Its flyweight, featherweight, superfeatherweight, and lightwelterweight. NO welterweight mentioned in that.
@mighk21 You really are clueless. Islander is referring to Kellerman's statement, not anything Pac is claiming. Most followers of this site are fans of MP, along with the Islander. Islander calls FM "the liar" (which he is). You sound like a blind man who's just walked into a bar and begun swinging at the first guy he bumps into.
Join the real conversation or get lost. Preferably to some nut-huggers site.
@boxinginfo - I did condede in my comment that one can trace the linegae through Floyd Mayweather. That point is unarguable. But you did imply that you were willing to recognise lineage IF the fighter who holds the lineage was ACTIVE and was fighting the top guys. Ok, Mosley was a top guy but Mayweather (as you acknowledge) has not been fighting any of the other top WW (not since Judah)...continued
@boxinginfo ...continued... My point is that Floyd retired and came back and fought 2 NON-TITLE fights. Just because HBO recognised a Cotto-Margarito fight as a "linear" title fight doesn't mean we have to. Mosley beat Maragarito and Floyd beat Mosley. Fair enough. But by your reasoning beating Mosley was surely not necessary to be the linear champ. He surely held that distinction by virtue of beating Baldomir. But he retired as champion, hence the title is vacant and remains so.
You have missed the FOUR Lineal Titles of PAC, its not WBO with Cotto and not the WBC of David Diaz its the title of WBC Flyweight of Sasakul, Featherweight of Barrera, Superfeatherweight of Marquez, and Lightwelterweight of Hatton.
Please don't misinform people here. So its not that the HBO announcer is saying BS its the truth its just that you do not know what you are saying.
Obviously you're a flomo, just make your girlfriend Floyd Jr. fight PAC. PAC was chasing Floyd Jr. since ODLH.
@mighk21Are you mentally retarded? Did you listen to the video? Obviously not. Here is what I have a problem with: I AGREE PACQUIAO HAS WON LINEAR titles AT 112, 126, 130, and 140. I could swear Max Kellerman said they were in 4 of the original 8 weight classes which THEY WERE NOT! Pac did win titles in 4 of the original 8 weight classes but only 2 of them were linear. If you don't know anything about boxing except Pacquiao do us all a favor and watch cartoon videos. I anxiously wait your reply
@mighk21 I'm a Pacquiao fan myself and a follower of @boxinginfo for years now and I'm sure he's not a flomo. Please watch his previous videos before making childish statements here. This guy knows his boxing. Everyone of us has an opinion, obviously from time to time our opinions will not match.

Excellent video as usual Islander and amazing recap of Welterweight lineal history. I wanted to ask you if I had my Heavyweight lineage correct. Spinx bt Holmes and Tyson bt Tucker then Tyson bts Spinx for true lineal then Douglas bts Tyson then Holyfield bts Douglas then Bowe bts Holyfield, Holyfield gets it back and loses to Moorer, Moorer loses to Foreman then Foreman loses to Briggs then Briggs loses to Lewis he loses to Rahman then gains it back before he retires??
@killerpriest777 Thanks, It actually goes Ali to Frazier to Foreman to Ali to Leon Spinks back to Ali, pause then to Holmes to Michael Spinks to Tyson to Douglas to Holyfield to Bowe back to Holyfield to Moorer to Foreman to Briggs to Lennox Lewis to Rachman back to Lewis. I believe HBO bestowed the winner of the Vitali Klitschko-Corey Sanders bout as the new linear champion. Now its kind of messed up.
The belts are overrated. The 154 is totally bogus. I think he is linear (I could be wrong) at: 112-Sasakul, 126-Barrera, 130-Marquez and 140-Hatton. Regardless of the titles, he is the best in this generation. Kinda hard to compare eras.
At 154 Martinez and Williams are too big. I think he chops down Williams at 147. He also beats the crap out of Berto and Mosley at 147 too. Bradely and Alexander will be very spirited at 140. I think JMM always figts pac tough. Oh Floyd...
Great history lesson, Islander! PS you reminded me why I went into a "dark period" of interest in boxing in the late 80's-early 90's. I know to many that strips of my status as a "real fan", but it is what it is.
Max Kellerman wasnt referring to the 135lb belt, nor the welterweight belt he got from Cotto (WBO)
Here are the lineal titles Pacquiao got: -140 (from Hatton who beat Tszyu); -130 he got from JMM(SD win); - 126 from Marco Antonio Barrera (no belts at steak, but Barrera was the lineal champion); and at 112 pounds I believe.
Ring Generalship/Footwork/Speed/Heart/Fights for the fans/Boxing Etc...PacquiaoHis on my one on the Top of The list Greates BOxer of all time...yet he fight May (Convincingly) 1 step UP than Ali...yes..BETTER THAN ALI...
great perspective on boxing. from videos of p4p all time e.g. ESPN, why do you think Ali is top 5 when you have so many others that you mention have far better record, lineage, etc? is this era of boxing have more quality and far less quantity of fighters? were there more champion fighters ducking now than back then? im alluding to the fact that its hard to prove yourself as the best when all these factors are going on.
@publicdoor1 1st I think with Ali its the fact nobody disputed that he was the Heavyweight Champion of the World, even when he was in exile. Joe Frazier didn't become the LINEAR champion even though politically he was the undisputed champion until he beat Ali.
But to further the answer I think it was longevity and the ability to perform at the championship level for so long. In my mind he's not #1 Sugar Ray Robinson is for all those same reasons and much more.
@saiyan4321 IMO if you listened to the whole video I said we can't put a number on current active boxers. So, no at this moment Pacquiaowould not make the top ten. Ali I would put at #2-#5 depending on how one would rank Joe Louis, Henry Armstrong, etc.
@kappy450 Class act? With that mouth I wouldn't recommend he kiss his mother. Class act? I'm still reeling with laughter. He's not as fast as HE LEADS YOU TO BELIEVE, trust me. He's getting KO'D by either Klitchko and it wouldn't surprise me if he hits the deck from one of Wlad's jabs to be honest. He's a bunch of hype is what he is, your own countrymen have told me so, right here on this very video!
Islander I think you are being unkind on Haye. He is a class act and would dismantle Chris Arreola very easily. In fact I truly believe he would stop either Klitschko - his speed and movement would allow him to open up angles; he would attack them like no-one has done before. The Klitschkos have it too easy; opponents stand in front of them and are very laboured and inactive. Haye will make them work.
margs usually loses rounds early but he is pressuring and landing great body shots. i feel margs trainer knew that margs was not the margs of old and i think thats the reason why we saw margs not pressuring like he useto. if the margs of old was there he has a good chance at a tko on pac. hatton was able to get pac to the ropes rather easily but his inside game is no where near as good as margs. margs inside game i think is one of the best and is the reason why he was able to hurt pac.
@shacasulu There is a little truth to that. I thought he was shot from the Cotto/Mosley back to back fights and looked like crap against Garcia. BUT and this is a big BUT, he looked like the dynamic Margarito of old in training, in fact he looked faster than ever with those big gloves on. I think when it came fight time, like you said all those old fights caught up with him, nothing to do w/ these fags who say it was the wraps.
margarito was already coming into the fight looking crap from the garcia bout and doug fisher reported that margarito looked shot after the cotto/mosley beatings. margarito was not fighting his fight i feel because his body could not take those type of beatings like he could before.pacquiao didnt help much either but to me it was obvious margarito didnt look like the strong sturdy margarito of old. he wasn't pressuring manny in the beginning so he was not at least banking body shots(continued)
you laid some real info about manny's greatness. people are really starting to get a bit ahead of themselves with manny heck i've seen articles about how hes possibly the greatest. SMH
LOL "how delusional are you???" that was great islander
btw islander about margarito not fighting the right fight i honestly believe it is because i feel he was way far from his prime. borderline shot to be honest. (let me continue this in another comment)
the word is that PW had melted himself down to welterweight territory to try to gain a fight with Pac or $May.. no dice.. hence the catchweight.. just not enough time to get himself up solidly for this fight.. also remember the guy's a welterweight.. no one wants to fight him a ww, but that's where he wants to fight, that's where he has all the advantages and he can still make that weight and wants to be available for fights at ww should they present themselves..
PW by clear decision (3rds +) possibly a KO.. last fight PW just didn't take Martinez seriously and got rocked early and was off for the rest of the fight.. also PW didn't have the time to prepare for a southpaw last time around.. not so this time.. this fight PW gets back to being PW (i.e. 1200 punches).. he always like to mix it up and it adds excitement to his fights, but it think this time he's going to be all business or at least more business.. he just can help himself..
@traverien The WBC belt doesn't mean squat unless they are the last organization to recognize an undisputed linear champion once the other worthless piece of crap organizations start stripping away the other belts. EXAMPLE Sergio Martinez is the Linear Middleweight Champion of the World and also the WBC and I think the WBO champ as well. David Diaz being gifted the WBC 135 title meant nothing after Corrales and Castillo did battle or Juan Diaz collected all the rest of them.
Good video I loved it when you retraced the lineage all the way back to Leonard vs Hearns. All the pactards and floyd nuthuggers probably don't know 1/3rd of the fighters you mentioned.
How is Adamek any more a dynamic cruiser than Haye? What about Haye's win over a teak tough fragomeni? What's impressed most is the rate in which he has acheived what he has. 26 fights in and a titlist at 2 weights. Ok the jury is still out on him for me too but is he really any worse than any other heavyweight titlist of recent years (except k2)?
@wrenchlogin Haye has fought basically Mormeck, Thompson, Valuev and Ruiz nobody else on his record is world title contender worthy with maybe the exception of Maccarinelli who had been iced before Haye and iced several times since. So 2 world title fights at Cruiser and 3 laughable ones at Heavy and people are pinning their hopes on THIS GUY to up end the Klitschkos? Just keeping it real.
A bastardised belt? I agree to an extent about haye but it's early days but he did well to beat Valuev. Would you fight a man a foot taller and 100 lbs heavier than yourself? If you wanna say that Wlad should have the belt that's fine but if Valuev should have never had it in the first place, then Chagaev wouldn't have had it when he fought Wlad so it's still a vacant belt from the days of Lennox Lewis. If you really want to get into the politics of it... Vitali shouldn't have his belt either
I'm not saying he shouldn't have his belt. I'm simply playing devils advocate and applying your own logic thus... Haye won a belt from someone who never won it legitimately? How is that different than having a 3 year lay off and coming back as "Champion emeritus"? They are both worthy of their accolades in my eyes and Haye has not fought as many big names as the brothers but has unified a division and won a title at 2nd weight in under 25 fights. his defences have been weak though
Respond to this video... Further to this you managed to avoid telling me why Adamek is so much more dynamic. Haye has fought some tough guys. Fragomeni is pretty rugged. Gurov was undefeated. Most every body in boxing has defeats against their name so to say Enzo was a bad opponent is a bit moot because at the time he was on a hot streak. Dont get me wrong i agree with a lot of what you say but to write him off is premature. For the record I think either Klit would beat him too
@wrenchlogin Here's your answer while I keep responding to people who can't listen can't read and don't have a good command of the English language. Adamek's wins over O'Neil Bell (TKO8) and Steve Cunningham (W12) FOY candidate. Those two guys are better than everybody on Haye's record -arguably but especially at Cruiser. Keep in mind Bell KO'd Mormeck before Haye did and didn't touch the canvas himself. Cunningham is better than both Mormeck and Maccaranelli. If you disagree that's fine.
@boxinginfo The Mormeck and Bell fight was close though and he did win a rematch. We have only to look at the recent Williams-Martinez fight to see how results can change from fight to fight.
Haye does get knocked down but it always appears it's more balance related than to do with his chin. |He was stopped in the early days but remained upright in doing so. I admit his record is not stellar but I think he has done well for the amount of fights he's had given the protected nature of the modern
era fighter. Would you agree on that? He's not the finished article and has his vulnerabilities but I wouldn't write him off just yet. The Klitschkos are the men to beat and I don't see anyone of the current crop beating them. I still maintain that Haye would beat Adamek though. I don't mind debating with you and enjoy watching your channel but the initial insult in that comment was a little uncalled for.
@wrenchlogin I agree with the unfinished article. If you're referring to the "can't read, can't listen, command of the English Language" comment it has nothing to do with you and wasn't meant for you. It was put in there so that you'd know why it took me so long to respond to your original question about the dynamics of Adamek. If there is some other comment you took as insulting, I'm sorry I have nothing malicious to say to you we have factually based discussions and I like them.
Many apologies for getting the wrong end of the stick sir. I was hoping that was the case. I think in summary to our debate, is it safe to say that only two complete fighters exist in the heavyweight division today? K1 an K2? It's exciting to see fighters of the calibre of Haye and Adamek progressing nicely but I can't see either prevailing. Perhaps a more robust and well thought out version of the super 6 may be a good idea at this juncture with a view to the winner facing a klit?
Chagaev fought Klitschko because he had little choice. After the hepatitis issue he was cast aside. My estimation of Haye has decreased since 2007 but his HW resume is not that bad for a guy with less than 30 fights.
David Haye can't be blamed for the WBA politics, he got the chance to fight Valuev and took it. He also deserves a bit more credit for the wins vs Mormeck and Valuev. He did travel abroad and won the titles in Mormeck and Valuev their backyard. Haye did haveValuev doing a silly dance in the 12th, so if he can hurt Valuev he can hurt Vitaly as well. Like Tyson said: the punch you don't see coming hurts the most. Haye's superior hand and foot speed and Vitaly poor defence make an interesting fight
@fcu1 Mormeck, yes absolutely he did what a warrior does get off the deck and finish the fight. Valuev, was nonsense he had already been beaten by 40+ Evander Holyfield, so it ain't like beating Valuev is some herculean task.
@gudlukinguy I could swear he said, "Manny has won titles in 7 different weight classes, and even by old day standards 4 of the original 8 weight classes which no boxer in history has ever done and linear titles at that." That might not be word for word the exact quote, and maybe I wasn't listening or remembering correctly but that is what I could swear he said.
With everyone talking about David Haye... Man I would love to see him fight Adamek before he fights the Klitschko Bros. I'm pretty sure that will be an amazing match up for PPV.
pacman and margarito did not like the bodyshots and pacman has always had problems with bodyshots , and he was hurt in this fight with a bodyshot , i thought it was the 4th round margarito got caught with the bodyshot ,
haha such hatred towards haye. yeah he aint done fuck all yet agreed, but give him time, he's bin a heavy for 4 fights. i like an outspoken boxer bout fuckin time the heavy's need it
@KVKiddoe Hard to say for a few reasons. First he didn't have that many total fights I think it was less than 50. Second he fought almost exclusively in one of the Jr. weight divisions. Third, besides Arguello, Cervantes is the only other HOF quality fighter on his record.
That being said his body of work speaks for itself and I would have to say he's probably right outside the top 50 to 75.
Good vid keep up the good work. It wasn't in the third, it was in the fourth. PAC caught marg with an uppercut to the right eye then right after a left to the body that hurt marg. The uppercut in the fourth was the beginning of the fucked up face. Great fight worth the money. Alot of nervous moments for me watching.
I'm not sure - I have this suspicious feeling that Mosley is going to get a chance at Pacquiao next. This will seriously be the worst possible fight ever.
What do you think is more likely for Pacquiao:
1. The winner of Martinez/Williams
2. A top 140 lbs?
Either way, I see there being a compromise in weight, either the 140 moving to 147 or the 154 coming down.
handed fighter because Floyd is having a hard time with left handed fighter. Floyd have reach and hieght advantage but I'll give Manny the power and chin. Floyd probably have the faster hand but Manny have a better faster foot.
Islander.... If been trying to match up Floyd and Manny in my head and every time the outcome change. Manny haven't faught a fast fighter like Floyd and Floyd faught a fighter somewhat like Manny (Shane and Zab) but Manny is more dangerous, throw more punches, have killer instinct and will last 20 rounds. Floyd had a problem with those 2 fighters. As you said Manny is having a problem with fast right handed fighter so as Floyd... I heard his SR. said before that he doesn't want floyd fight left
If mayweather does not come to the table Pac should fight berto. Not mosley, not marquez and not cotto. Berto has two titles at welter and is undefeated (yes I saw the collazo fight). He is the right guy. He would lose badly but is Berto is still the most deserving to fight pac barring mayweather.
Yes man for Sam Langford shoutout. He could call a round better then Ali, ND with Jack Johnson prior the him winning the HW championship, and started as a featherweight.
@SamLangford1 tell everybody how 5'6" Sam Langford fought all the way up the weight classes and how many titles in how many different modern weight classes he would have won. Yet they want to leave him off the top 10 P4P GOAT list b/c 95% of the people watching boxing know nothing about the oldl warriors.
@boxinginfo Plus he was absolutely blackballed (pun intended) out of a shot at the hw title against both Johnson and Dempsy.
It's not like I'm 85 and saw "The Boston Tar Baby" (no shit) in action. You can read up on these guys (if you can stomach Bert Sugar's hyperbole) and see good clips on you tube.
Speaking of you tube clips and good right hands. Check out Joe Louis HLs to see the best hip and shoulder rotation ever executed.
@boxinginfo I don't know if he was on Langfords level but Charley Burley was another VERY underappreciated fighter. Eddie Futch said that in his oppinion Burley was the best fighter he ever saw, obviously talking strictly on skill and talent. Archie Moore supposedly said at once that Burley, a welterweight, was his toughest fight.
@boxinginfo You know in the 11th when Pacquiao was looking at Lawrence Cole as if to say '..stop this', do you think Cole was thinking, like I was, no, don't stop it, f**k him up. Margarito, if you believe he wore those wraps against Cotto, never showed Miguel the same kind of compasion. I think Cole did the right thing letting it go on and I wish Manny hadn't let up on him in those last two rounds.
i think you didnt give pacquiao much credit for fighting bigger quality guys. He win champs at 8 divisions and no one ever did that in boxing. I doubt if chavez et al could do that. I think fighting bigger champs at higher division is harder to accomplish than staying in your division fighting defenses. Surely, if he just stayof talents, so the most logical is move up in weight. thats how is box todayed at a division, he would ran out of quality opponents. A boxing division is now shallow
Islander.... I think Manny is little bit faster than those 130 pounder that he faught before but we also can take into consideration that Manny is killing himself just to make the weight. When he faught Marquest.... manny's ring weight was 144lbs and on his last fight his weight is 148. He gained 4 pounds ring wieght in last 2.5 years. Now he can really practice his speed and not worry about weight on the final week.
I actually think the winner of Alexander vs. Bradley has a very good chance at upsetting Pacquiao and Mayweather. I think those two have SERIOUS potential. With that said I think experience would win the day. But if you're looking for an outsider to upset them it's those two.
If I remeber correctly islander Margarito vs Cotto was not for the lineal title due to Paul Williams's presence in the WW division.Williams already beat Margarito so how could the winner of those 2 be the W Champ?
I don't think The Ring title was ever present in those affairs or the next ones and that's why iut's vacant now aswell.
@catasyou I remember clearly that the Ring belt was to be given to the winner of the Cotto-Margarito fight b/c Mayweather retired, Cotto had the WBA strap, Margarito had just layed waste to Cintron for his IBF strap and the two would have been joined together as a battle of champion vs. champion. Paul Williams was already playing with fights at 160 and 154.
@catasyou Paul Williams has not been present in the 147pound division since June 2008 a full month before the Cotto-Margarito fight and he hasn't fought there since.
I remember the first 3 ranked WWs were Cotto,Margarito and Willaims NOT necessarily in that order. The Ring belt was NOT on the line for Cotto-Margarito due to Williams's presence there.
@catasyou I have no clue, HBO is the one who said the Cotto-Margarito fight was for the real linear welterweight championship. No matter how you cut it though Pacquiao IS NOT the Linear 147lb champion.
David Haye is a total joke. Been done with that guy for a while now. You pretty much nailed it.
Margarito has an atg chin and heart. Great performance by Pac. Lampley is a Cotto buttboy and wont give up the wraps bs.
Mayweather isnt the linear champion. Paul Williams beat Margarito so i dont get how Margarito can then fight Cotto for the linear championship. Margarito then turned down a rematch with Williams which wouldve been for the linear title.
@DirkDigglerV3 Paul Willimas beating Margarito got him the WBO belt thats it. Margarito rebounded to beat in succession Cintron holder of the IBF belt and Cotto holder of the WBA belt to essentially/figuratively have 1/2 the belts in the division although the IBF immediately stripped him for fighting Cotto. The Ring Magazine recognized the winner of the Cotto-Margarito bout as the real/linear champion of the division. Mosley beat Margarito and Mayweather beat Mosley simplae as that.
@boxinginfo....The Ring didnt recognise Cotto-Marg winner as champ, hence why Mayweather doesnt hold the Ring belt.
I believe Cotto was ranked 1, Williams 2 and Margarito 3 so Cotto vs Marg could not be for the Ring title. The only way to establish the champion was if Margarito and Williams rematced after Tony beat Cotto.Tony turned it down and Williams ended up moving up. I just dont see how anyone could say Tony was "The Man" when Williams was still active in the division.
@DirkDigglerV3 I could swore they did. But assuming you're right here's the problem. HBO would not give Margarito $4M for a rematch with Williams the fight he WANTED, instead he got pigeon holed into fighting Mosley.
The Margarito-Cotto bout took place in July 2008. Paul Williams fought Carlos Quintana II in June 2008, then Andy Kolle at 160 in September 2008 and then Verno Phillips in November 2008. 2 fights north of the welterweight division after Margarito beat Cotto and before Mosley. CONT
@DirkDigglerV3 CONT. In regards to Mayweather, unless I'm mistaken I could swear he beat Baldomir who beat Judah who beat Spinks who unified with Mayorga who unified with Forest.
Has Mayweather lost since his fight with Ricky Hatton? No. Regardless of what the Ring magazine did, I'm going off what HBO said in the lead up to Cotto-Margo that "the winner would be recognized as THE WELTERWEIGHT CHAMPION OF THE WORLD" Keep in mind Williams had lost and revenged that loss in that same time.
@boxinginfo....yeah if you go by the fact that Mayweather never lost the linear championship in the ring, then yeah you could say hes the linear champion. But if we're going by the lineage being broken when he retired, there is no current linear champ.
At least thats how i see it. HBO will say anything to hype a fight. Its just completely against the idea of lineage in my eyes for Margarito to be called the man when the guy that beat him is still at large in the division.
@DirkDigglerV3 Williams was not present in the division anytime after June 2008 a full month before the Cotto-Margo fight and never fought again in the division case closed.
All I know is that the rightful holder of the IBF belt Margarito and the rightful holder of the WBA belt Cotto met in July 2008 after Williams had lost badly to Quintana then beat him badly in a rematch making him a guy on the outside looking in. All reporting I heard was that the Cotto-Margarito fight was for it all.
@boxinginfo....well im talkin more from my own reasoning than from what was reported. You cant really say Williams wasnt present since he just won his belt back and was calling out Cotto straight after and then offered Margarito a fight after he beat Cotto. He planned to campaign at welter, just cos Margarito would not fight him means he shouldnt be considered? I dont even like Williams and i like Margarito but it is what it is.
...Before Cotto-Marg, Cotto was 1, Williams 2, Marg 3. How can 1 and 3 fight for the linearship? Makes no sense. After Margarito beat Cotto, he was ranked 1 and Williams ranked 2. Margarito turned down the rematch with Williams. How can someone be called the lineal champ or "the man" basically by default and in this case by basically ducking? Doesnt make sense to me.
wow you are very different from others, you are educational.

its funny how all the people comments like they know boxing,.,you all really dont know what will happen when u are in the ring,.,evrybody says to the boxers that they should do this ,should do that,.blah,blah,blah!<.,u dont know nothing unless you all are in the ring with the best fighters,.,why dont u guys go in front of pacquiao nd margarito inside the ring so u would know what it feels to beat and get beaten,.
japkorekekful 1 year ago
hey man, great vid..i think you're right about pacquiao's speed at lower weights is not as quick against bigger guys..although i think that Pacquiao's chin is as durable as heavy guys like margarito..so i think if he fights marquez even if Marquez lands punches like in the second fight Pac would still win, and Marquez has a chin but still he gets knocked down..i think the numbers game will be for Pacquiao..
MrSeigakuryoma 1 year ago
Islander, a quick question on a particular lineage for you. The 175lb lineage is the one that confuses me. Not so much the recent lineage but the lineage concerning Roy Jones Jr and Dariusz Michalczewski. What's the deal with that? For my mind Michalczewski had 3 of the "big 4" before being stripped, then a year later Jones collects 3 of them but they never faced off. Who was the rightful lineal champion in your opinion? Or, was there even a true champion?
baldylocks2009 1 year ago
@baldylocks2009 Its tricky, but the last TRUE Linear champion was Michael Spinks back in 1985. Michaelczewski was thought to be the man again like you say especially after beating Virgil Hill who beat Henry Maske unifying WBA and IBF so to me I would go in that direction which had Julio Gonzalez beating him then losing, etc.
boxinginfo 1 year ago
you're saying that it has more sense saying that mayweather is the linear champ bcoz he beat mosley that beat margarito that beat cotto.?? pacquiao can claim that too... he beat margarito (w/c btw ducked by mayweather), then beat cotto who beat mosley...
4watchingonly22 1 year ago
@4watchingonly22 Only problem with your claim is that Pac beat up guys who were already beaten up by somebody else. Mayweather beat Baldomir who beat Judah who beat Spinks. Who has beaten Mayweather? Margarito beat Cotto before Pac, they both beat Clottey before Pac, Mosley beat Margarito and Mayweather beat Mosley and nobody has beaten Mayweather yet. So, yes that is my claim. Before you start using the word racist, read the all the comments to see the consequences. I'm not Black or Asian.
boxinginfo 1 year ago
@boxinginfo - first of all... i dont think i used "racist" word in my comment... i dont know from where you got that one...
anyway, as u mention in your reply... manny is lesser than mayweather bcoz he beat the already beaten guys.. let me just point this.. out of the three i mentioned (mosley, cotto & margarito), pacquiao beat two of those.. unlike mayweather, he beat only one...yah...only one...and no other than grandpa mosley.. maybe mayweather will fight the other two... after 5 years..
4watchingonly22 1 year ago
@4watchingonly22 The racist thing was just a warning. It doesn't matter that Manny beat 3 of them what matters is when he beat them. Example, just because he beat Marquez doesn't make him the linear 135lb champ b/c Marquez accomplished those things later. In regards to Mayweather there is a lineage trace. Pacquiao beating Cotto means little in terms of true Welter supremacy since Margarito beat him first. Manny is NOT lesser than FMJ, FMJ has won the linear 147 title and never lost. CONT
boxinginfo 1 year ago
@4watchingonly22 CONT. I don't like FMJ but what I do know is he beat Baldomir who was linear who beat Judah who beat Spinks who unified with Mayorga who unified w/Forrest. HBO said the Cotto(WBA)-Margarito(IBF who stripped him) fight would determine the new KING. Margo beat Cotto then Mosley beat Margo then FMJ beat Mosley. Fighting all the guys who have been beaten when they don't have linear titles doesn't advance your case for linear champion.
boxinginfo 1 year ago
@boxinginfo - one more thing.. regarding your point that manny is looking more skillful when hes fighting the bigger ("robot") guys... than fighting the likes of marquez and morales... well, if (& if only) your logic is.. a small boxer with speed and relatively skillful, will beat the bigger ("robot") boxers or let say, will look "good" against them... then my question is.. how is that at this point of time.. only paacquiao is doing it?? i mean..why not mayweather challenge Pwill or martinez??
4watchingonly22 1 year ago
@4watchingonly22 Either I mis spoke or didn't make myself clear. Pacquiao isn't any less skilled when fighting smaller men, that is not what I meant. What I meant to say is that his speed appears to be more against DLH, Hatton, Cotto, Clottey, and Margarito than it does against Marquez, Barrera, Morales, Solis, etc.
boxinginfo 1 year ago
@boxinginfo - I do respect your opinion.. regarding who beat who.. but the thing is.. as they say.. style makes fight... so we will never know unless they will fight all themselvs.. in this case.. hope mayweather will come out and fight.. coz for me.. i dont thnk that theres anybody out there worhty to be mannys opponent... no disrespect to marquez.. but at this time... i dont think it will be competitiv as the 2 before.. (even if he'll drink all mexicans' pee)
4watchingonly22 1 year ago
@4watchingonly22 I'll address the Marquez fight in the next video. IN regards to everybody fighting everybody: Pac has fought Cotto, Clottey Margo. Margarito has fought Clottey,Cotto, Mosley, Pac. Cotto has fought Mosley, Margo, Clottey, Pac. Mosley has fought Cotto, Margo, Mayweather. Clottey has fought Margo, Cotto, Pac. The only ones left are Mosley-Clottey, Pac-Mosley, Pac-FMJ and we pretty much complete the round robin of Cotto Margarito Clottey PAC and Mosley.

ok. thanks. i get your point. but i dont think pacquiao will be interested in defending his title now. he will always go to have a title that he still doesnt have.
babyfaceassassin21 1 year ago
@boxinginfo he beats a great fighter early in his career. becoz we know that now is his prime. i actually getting tired of watching him becoz he is always winning big time. i wish there is still a fighter out there who can give him a great fight not just good fight
babyfaceassassin21 1 year ago
@boxinginfo you said about trinidad delahoya arguello and chavez title defences. may i know if they defend that titles against a A+ fighter??? pacquiao can be one of the greatest not becoz of how many title defences he has but becoz he demolish every fighter out there. maybe there are many fighters who have more title defences than pacquiao but they defend that against who??? he is always smaller against his opponents that includes barrera and morales
babyfaceassassin21 1 year ago
@babyfaceassassin21 Question #1 YES they did defend against A+ fighters, not all of them, and like PAC David Diaz and Jorge Solis are lucky to be "B-" fighters. Who you ask? Arguello fought 16 different current/past world champions only 1 of them he didn't beat and beat 1 of them twice back when being a world champion actually meant something and there weren't 10 titles per division like there are now. Chavez fought 17 world champions beat 15 of them a couple more than once. CONT.
boxinginfo 1 year ago

@adp023 I agree 1000% with the entire assessment.

@adp023 - Duran, Chavez, and Arguello are the TOP and the best of the best of all in Boxing. Legends!!!!! Though, I think Chavez go sucker'd into fighting the Goldenboy. How sad. Oscar was the bigger guy in that division.
ega0117 1 year ago
It was in the 1:59mark of the 4th Round when Pac landed a looping left uppercut on margarito's right eye that changed everything. Margarito wiped his eye with his glove and the welt began to grow. Then Pac landed a left to the body a few seconds later. That's when the fight changed.
adp023 1 year ago
Listen to yourself, you raised that Four (4) lineal title BS disputing what Max Kellerman has raised. What you were implying in your video is that Max was not telling the truth about the 4 lineal titles. That is the point of dispute here Max never said 4 ORIGINAL of the 8 weight classes. Don't get carried away with your emotions when responding coz that is the easiest way to lose your credibility. And don't start a sentence with an insult and ask to be you be treated otherwise.
mighk21 1 year ago
@mighk21 The only thing in dispute from where I sit is the exact words and context of Kellerman. I understood him to say that Pac had won titles in 7 weight classes as he was coming to the ring. And then said by old day standards he had won 4 titles of the original 8 weight classes, which I am not disputing. I understood Kellerman to have said that those 4 original weight classes were the LINEAR ones. I am NOT disputing Pac has won 4 linear titles, my dispute is over the context of the statement
boxinginfo 1 year ago
@boxinginfo I was surprised the way Martinez floored Williams. I didn't know he carried that much power in his hand. I guess it was a perfect counter punch.
It's kind of interesting how he threw that punch, it seems he knew when Williams will throw a left hand punch and what to throw against it. Maybe Williams telegraph it for Martinez.. He must have studied Williams alot, he got him figured out.

flyweight, featherweight, junior lightweight, and junior welterweight, this is pacquiaos four lineal titles. if u consider 8 original weight classes pacquiao still won with in four different weight classes of the old so u cant deny the fact that he DID win. may be welter and junior used to be one but with in that limit he did beat a real champion.

Again stop misinforming people here not all is dumb to listen to your crap.

This means they live an unproductive life, and Pac is the only source of pride for them. Sad.

What do you say Islander?
ega0117 1 year ago
@ega0117 Barrera put Morales down in their first fight 12th round. Pacquiao would eat up any fellow soutpaw, Valero would have ZERO chance. Correct me if I'm mistaken hasn't Pacquiao lost a fight at 108 and 112 and had a contentious technical draw with Agapito Sanchez at 122 before the loss to Morales at 130 and the close calls with Marquez at 130?

Islander, you said that the lineal championship means more to you then belt collecting IF the "champion" in question is active (and,I presume, against the top contenders). Mayweather retired and therefore was no longer the champion. He came back and fought a lightweight and then beat Mosley in a non-title fight. I understand that you can trace the lineage through him BUT he holds no belt and has ducked the big challenges that Pacquiao has taken. I refuse to recognise him as the champion.
laozi1 1 year ago
@laozi1 - YOU ARE EXACTLY RIGHT!!!! I never thought of that. I am glad you made this comment. Thanks!
ega0117 1 year ago
@laozi1 Question how do you consider the Mosley fight non title? BC the WBA didn't sanction it? With lineage those belts don't mean a thing. Think about when Zab Judah lost to Baldomir the only belt on the line was the WBC, the lineage still followed Baldomir. The controversy here is whether or not the winner of Margo-Cotto was recognized as the new linear champion after FMJ retired and if so like I was lead to believe then Mosley beat Margo and FMJ beat Mosley. If not then the title is vacant.
boxinginfo 1 year ago

@boxinginfo - I did condede in my comment that one can trace the linegae through Floyd Mayweather. That point is unarguable. But you did imply that you were willing to recognise lineage IF the fighter who holds the lineage was ACTIVE and was fighting the top guys. Ok, Mosley was a top guy but Mayweather (as you acknowledge) has not been fighting any of the other top WW (not since Judah)...continued
laozi1 1 year ago
@boxinginfo ...continued... My point is that Floyd retired and came back and fought 2 NON-TITLE fights. Just because HBO recognised a Cotto-Margarito fight as a "linear" title fight doesn't mean we have to. Mosley beat Maragarito and Floyd beat Mosley. Fair enough. But by your reasoning beating Mosley was surely not necessary to be the linear champ. He surely held that distinction by virtue of beating Baldomir. But he retired as champion, hence the title is vacant and remains so.
laozi1 1 year ago

Excellent video as usual Islander and amazing recap of Welterweight lineal history. I wanted to ask you if I had my Heavyweight lineage correct. Spinx bt Holmes and Tyson bt Tucker then Tyson bts Spinx for true lineal then Douglas bts Tyson then Holyfield bts Douglas then Bowe bts Holyfield, Holyfield gets it back and loses to Moorer, Moorer loses to Foreman then Foreman loses to Briggs then Briggs loses to Lewis he loses to Rahman then gains it back before he retires??
killerpriest777 1 year ago

@boxinginfo
Max Kellerman wasnt referring to the 135lb belt, nor the welterweight belt he got from Cotto (WBO)
Here are the lineal titles Pacquiao got: -140 (from Hatton who beat Tszyu); -130 he got from JMM(SD win); - 126 from Marco Antonio Barrera (no belts at steak, but Barrera was the lineal champion); and at 112 pounds I believe.

great perspective on boxing. from videos of p4p all time e.g. ESPN, why do you think Ali is top 5 when you have so many others that you mention have far better record, lineage, etc? is this era of boxing have more quality and far less quantity of fighters? were there more champion fighters ducking now than back then? im alluding to the fact that its hard to prove yourself as the best when all these factors are going on.
publicdoor1 1 year ago
@publicdoor1 1st I think with Ali its the fact nobody disputed that he was the Heavyweight Champion of the World, even when he was in exile. Joe Frazier didn't become the LINEAR champion even though politically he was the undisputed champion until he beat Ali.
But to further the answer I think it was longevity and the ability to perform at the championship level for so long. In my mind he's not #1 Sugar Ray Robinson is for all those same reasons and much more.

In your own opinion does Pacquiao land in the top ten of the GOAT? How about Ali?
saiyan4321 1 year ago

He's a bunch of hype is what he is, your own countrymen have told me so, right here on this very video!
boxinginfo 1 year ago
Islander I think you are being unkind on Haye. He is a class act and would dismantle Chris Arreola very easily. In fact I truly believe he would stop either Klitschko - his speed and movement would allow him to open up angles; he would attack them like no-one has done before. The Klitschkos have it too easy; opponents stand in front of them and are very laboured and inactive. Haye will make them work.

margs usually loses rounds early but he is pressuring and landing great body shots. i feel margs trainer knew that margs was not the margs of old and i think thats the reason why we saw margs not pressuring like he useto. if the margs of old was there he has a good chance at a tko on pac. hatton was able to get pac to the ropes rather easily but his inside game is no where near as good as margs. margs inside game i think is one of the best and is the reason why he was able to hurt pac.
shacasulu 1 year ago
@shacasulu There is a little truth to that. I thought he was shot from the Cotto/Mosley back to back fights and looked like crap against Garcia. BUT and this is a big BUT, he looked like the dynamic Margarito of old in training, in fact he looked faster than ever with those big gloves on. I think when it came fight time, like you said all those old fights caught up with him, nothing to do w/ these fags who say it was the wraps.
boxinginfo 1 year ago
margarito was already coming into the fight looking crap from the garcia bout and doug fisher reported that margarito looked shot after the cotto/mosley beatings. margarito was not fighting his fight i feel because his body could not take those type of beatings like he could before.pacquiao didnt help much either but to me it was obvious margarito didnt look like the strong sturdy margarito of old. he wasn't pressuring manny in the beginning so he was not at least banking body shots(continued)

the word is that PW had melted himself down to welterweight territory to try to gain a fight with Pac or $May.. no dice.. hence the catchweight.. just not enough time to get himself up solidly for this fight.. also remember the guy's a welterweight.. no one wants to fight him a ww, but that's where he wants to fight, that's where he has all the advantages and he can still make that weight and wants to be available for fights at ww should they present themselves..

I heard Mayweather say his titles were the official wbc belts? which of the boxing belts is best and why?
traverien 1 year ago
@traverien The WBC belt doesn't mean squat unless they are the last organization to recognize an undisputed linear champion once the other worthless piece of crap organizations start stripping away the other belts. EXAMPLE Sergio Martinez is the Linear Middleweight Champion of the World and also the WBC and I think the WBO champ as well. David Diaz being gifted the WBC 135 title meant nothing after Corrales and Castillo did battle or Juan Diaz collected all the rest of them.

How is Adamek any more a dynamic cruiser than Haye? What about Haye's win over a teak tough fragomeni? What's impressed most is the rate in which he has acheived what he has. 26 fights in and a titlist at 2 weights. Ok the jury is still out on him for me too but is he really any worse than any other heavyweight titlist of recent years (except k2)?
wrenchlogin 1 year ago
@wrenchlogin Haye has fought basically Mormeck, Thompson, Valuev and Ruiz nobody else on his record is world title contender worthy with maybe the exception of Maccarinelli who had been iced before Haye and iced several times since. So 2 world title fights at Cruiser and 3 laughable ones at Heavy and people are pinning their hopes on THIS GUY to up end the Klitschkos? Just keeping it real.
boxinginfo 1 year ago
A bastardised belt? I agree to an extent about haye but it's early days but he did well to beat Valuev. Would you fight a man a foot taller and 100 lbs heavier than yourself? If you wanna say that Wlad should have the belt that's fine but if Valuev should have never had it in the first place, then Chagaev wouldn't have had it when he fought Wlad so it's still a vacant belt from the days of Lennox Lewis. If you really want to get into the politics of it... Vitali shouldn't have his belt either
wrenchlogin 1 year ago
@wrenchlogin Evander Holyfield BEAT Valuev just as convincingly and first I might add.
Please tell me how Vitali shouldn't have his WBC belt this should be interesting.
boxinginfo 1 year ago
@boxinginfo
I'm not saying he shouldn't have his belt. I'm simply playing devils advocate and applying your own logic thus... Haye won a belt from someone who never won it legitimately? How is that different than having a 3 year lay off and coming back as "Champion emeritus"? They are both worthy of their accolades in my eyes and Haye has not fought as many big names as the brothers but has unified a division and won a title at 2nd weight in under 25 fights. his defences have been weak though
wrenchlogin 1 year ago
Respond to this video... Further to this you managed to avoid telling me why Adamek is so much more dynamic. Haye has fought some tough guys. Fragomeni is pretty rugged. Gurov was undefeated. Most every body in boxing has defeats against their name so to say Enzo was a bad opponent is a bit moot because at the time he was on a hot streak. Dont get me wrong i agree with a lot of what you say but to write him off is premature. For the record I think either Klit would beat him too
wrenchlogin 1 year ago
@wrenchlogin Here's your answer while I keep responding to people who can't listen can't read and don't have a good command of the English language. Adamek's wins over O'Neil Bell (TKO8) and Steve Cunningham (W12) FOY candidate. Those two guys are better than everybody on Haye's record -arguably but especially at Cruiser. Keep in mind Bell KO'd Mormeck before Haye did and didn't touch the canvas himself. Cunningham is better than both Mormeck and Maccaranelli. If you disagree that's fine.
boxinginfo 1 year ago
@boxinginfo The Mormeck and Bell fight was close though and he did win a rematch. We have only to look at the recent Williams-Martinez fight to see how results can change from fight to fight.
Haye does get knocked down but it always appears it's more balance related than to do with his chin. |He was stopped in the early days but remained upright in doing so. I admit his record is not stellar but I think he has done well for the amount of fights he's had given the protected nature of the modern
wrenchlogin 1 year ago
era fighter. Would you agree on that? He's not the finished article and has his vulnerabilities but I wouldn't write him off just yet. The Klitschkos are the men to beat and I don't see anyone of the current crop beating them. I still maintain that Haye would beat Adamek though. I don't mind debating with you and enjoy watching your channel but the initial insult in that comment was a little uncalled for.
wrenchlogin 1 year ago
@wrenchlogin I agree with the unfinished article. If you're referring to the "can't read, can't listen, command of the English Language" comment it has nothing to do with you and wasn't meant for you. It was put in there so that you'd know why it took me so long to respond to your original question about the dynamics of Adamek. If there is some other comment you took as insulting, I'm sorry I have nothing malicious to say to you we have factually based discussions and I like them.
boxinginfo 1 year ago
@boxinginfo

David Haye can't be blamed for the WBA politics, he got the chance to fight Valuev and took it. He also deserves a bit more credit for the wins vs Mormeck and Valuev. He did travel abroad and won the titles in Mormeck and Valuev their backyard. Haye did haveValuev doing a silly dance in the 12th, so if he can hurt Valuev he can hurt Vitaly as well. Like Tyson said: the punch you don't see coming hurts the most. Haye's superior hand and foot speed and Vitaly poor defence make an interesting fight
fcu1 1 year ago
@fcu1 Mormeck, yes absolutely he did what a warrior does get off the deck and finish the fight. Valuev, was nonsense he had already been beaten by 40+ Evander Holyfield, so it ain't like beating Valuev is some herculean task.

KVKiddoe 1 year ago
@KVKiddoe Hard to say for a few reasons. First he didn't have that many total fights I think it was less than 50. Second he fought almost exclusively in one of the Jr. weight divisions. Third, besides Arguello, Cervantes is the only other HOF quality fighter on his record.
That being said his body of work speaks for itself and I would have to say he's probably right outside the top 50 to 75.

Who do you think will win?

Islander.... If been trying to match up Floyd and Manny in my head and every time the outcome change. Manny haven't faught a fast fighter like Floyd and Floyd faught a fighter somewhat like Manny (Shane and Zab) but Manny is more dangerous, throw more punches, have killer instinct and will last 20 rounds. Floyd had a problem with those 2 fighters. As you said Manny is having a problem with fast right handed fighter so as Floyd... I heard his SR. said before that he doesn't want floyd fight left

I think fighting bigger champs at higher division is harder to accomplish than staying in your division fighting defenses. Surely, if he just stayof talents, so the most logical is move up in weight. thats how is box todayed at a division, he would ran out of quality opponents. A boxing division is now shallow

When he faught Marquest.... manny's ring weight was 144lbs and on his last fight his weight is 148. He gained 4 pounds ring wieght in last 2.5 years. If I remeber correctly islander Margarito vs Cotto was not for the lineal title due to Paul Williams's presence in the WW division.Williams already beat Margarito so how could the winner of those 2 be the W Champ?
I don't think The Ring title was ever present in those affairs or the next ones and that's why iut's vacant now aswell.
catasyou 1 year ago
@catasyou...exactly what i said, agreed.
DirkDigglerV3 1 year ago
@catasyou I remember clearly that the Ring belt was to be given to the winner of the Cotto-Margarito fight b/c Mayweather retired, Cotto had the WBA strap, Margarito had just layed waste to Cintron for his IBF strap and the two would have been joined together as a battle of champion vs. champion. Paul Williams was already playing with fights at 160 and 154.
boxinginfo 1 year ago
@boxinginfo So then why is the Ring belt vacant now?
It should belong to Mayweather if what you are saying is true.
catasyou 1 year ago
@catasyou I have no idea. You do know that the Ring belt is not a guaranteed sign of lineage?
boxinginfo 1 year ago
@catasyou Paul Williams has not been present in the 147pound division since June 2008 a full month before the Cotto-Margarito fight and he hasn't fought there since.
boxinginfo 1 year ago
@boxinginfo That's not the point though.
I remember the first 3 ranked WWs were Cotto,Margarito and Willaims NOT necessarily in that order. The Ring belt was NOT on the line for Cotto-Margarito due to Williams's presence there.
catasyou 1 year ago
@catasyou I have no clue, HBO is the one who said the Cotto-Margarito fight was for the real linear welterweight championship. No matter how you cut it though Pacquiao IS NOT the Linear 147lb champion.
boxinginfo 1 year ago
David Haye is a total joke. Been done with that guy for a while now. You pretty much nailed it.
Margarito has an atg chin and heart. Great performance by Pac. Lampley is a Cotto buttboy and wont give up the wraps bs.
Mayweather isnt the linear champion. Paul Williams beat Margarito so i dont get how Margarito can then fight Cotto for the linear championship. Margarito then turned down a rematch with Williams which wouldve been for the linear title.
I got Sexy by tko over Williams.
DirkDigglerV3 1 year ago
@DirkDigglerV3 Paul Willimas beating Margarito got him the WBO belt thats it. Margarito rebounded to beat in succession Cintron holder of the IBF belt and Cotto holder of the WBA belt to essentially/figuratively have 1/2 the belts in the division although the IBF immediately stripped him for fighting Cotto. The Ring Magazine recognized the winner of the Cotto-Margarito bout as the real/linear champion of the division. Mosley beat Margarito and Mayweather beat Mosley simplae as that.
boxinginfo 1 year ago
