okay, i have a question, why is it, that XM now has portable stuff, when sirius sort of bought them out?

yes i know you can sirius channels on xm and vice-versa, but i have yet to see XM offer a-la carte.

Wait a sec - how did you subscribe? You pulled it right out of the box and plugged it in and you were getting the channels - unless I missed an edit in that. I would have thought you would have needed to call it in or get on xmradio.com and put in the SkyDock's ID and then wait for the authorization signal.

Excellent review! Thanks! Answered all my questions except for what happens when a call comes in? Does it go through the SkyDock? Straight to speaker phone? Or do you have to yank the phone out of the dock to answer?

I don't have an iPhone and use the iPod Touch instead. I have heard when using an iPhone, a call will interrupt the XM radio. Hopefully some one with first hand experience will chime in.

The XM SkyDock will only work on the XM Satellite radio network. Packages start at $9.99 a month.

Thank you GNDOTY, Ive had mine for about a week now and love it! My ONLY complaint is that it isnt telescoping. Since I own a 09 accord the only accessable cigarette outlet is located to where I have to look down to change the channel on the skydock. Other then that I LOVE it :)

I'm a Sirius subscriber. Would I need a XM with a best of Sirius sub to get this to work? I''m hearing some say Sirius subs are fine and others say you need XM.

I just got off the phone with Sirius and he wanted to direct me to XM. I didn't have the feeling he was up to date on this unit.

This is an XM radio and you will need to subscribe to XM. XM with the best of Sirius is the best way to go with our without using the SkyDock, in my opinion. It all depends on your sports, talk and entertainment preferences.

you do need XM with the best of Sirius subscription for the skydock to work for XM Satellite radio. However it works perfectly fine with no subscription at all as an ipod touch or iphone FM dock.,

Very true. I'm ok with my Sirius sub. There are times I want to listen to my iPod library (since they cancelled the Punk channel). So I still have been considering buying this. I'm sure I could still use the Sirius XM app and not the Skydock app. Although it's missing some of my essentials.

well you would need the skydock app as that is the control for the FM transmitter. But yeah I'm assuming you have an iphone, the Sirius XM internet radio app would work perfectly on the skydock. just like any other FM dock would.
