  • I've heard a few different renditions of the Harp Sonata, but by far the best is the recording of it by Nicanor Zabaleta. You can find this on a vinyl recording titled, "Zabaleta Harp Sampler". This is on Everest 51501, the copy I have is on the Counterpoint/Esoteric label. Nicanor was the best harpist ever!

  • The title of the album(it's vinyl) is Music For the Harp, Marcel Grandjany, Capital Records #PAO-8420-I found it many years ago at the Princeton Record Exchange in Princeton, NJ-It has the Sonata For Harp by Hindemith, Faure 's Impromtu, Fantasie on a Theme by Hadyn, and several others

  • by the way I enjoyed seeing you play it live-there is only one other example on YouTube and it's a recorded version-planning to video more of it? sounds great!

  • She thanks you, I cannot get into her account from my computer, and she is busy getting the music together for a Wedding ceremony and reception tomorrow. This piece is quite taxing and the most complex thus far.

  • I have a recording of Grandjany playing this and the music is so unique. For some reason it reminds me of the winter- is it written in a certain mode, do you think?

  • Sara told me to let your know this piece is not in a mode that she is aware of, however it is contemporary. We were wondering where you got the Grandjany recording?
