I know that this scene is meant to be kind of a joke, but it is not very far off in depicting the level of judgement and sometimes outright disgust and hatred gay couples get when they go out together to public places like pools. Often gay people are made to feel so ashamed of themselves that they are uncomfortable being out in the open with their partner. It sucks.

I'm not ashamed. It's just really annoying constantly worrying that wherever I go, someone MIGHT throw up. I'm afraid to see comedy or horror movies without sending one of my friends to see it first, since comedy and horror are most often the genres of movie that contain some sort of puke scene.
