You need a version of Windows to use the POPStation GUI program.

Shouldn't have to be XP, but I haven't tried this on Vista or Windows 7.

It's easier to just do everything shown in the video at the end of the day.

I don't think you actually need it for anything, but never the less, backup your memory stick and format it using the option in the System Settings menu. This recreates the folder structure.

help!! I have CFW 3.71 M33-2 on *Slim PSP* I did all the steps (running Kernel 3.71, Enabled Plugins "Pops," etc) I see the PSX game in the menu and after i select it and get the precaution screen, the screen turns black and nothing happens... the memory stick seems to continue to load. Help??

Them "magic" memory stick holds the bootsector (so the PSP can boot from it) and the 3.60 M33 file. Make it 3.60 M33, get used to the hacks, then upgrade to 3.90 M33.

To downgrade, put the memory stick in with the battery, then backup the NAnD, and then downgrade.

Not true unless you hardware modify the battery. If you software mod it, you can always convert it back by (this is after it has become "custom") taking the battery out but plug the AC adapter in. Power it up and when you get to the home screen, put your battery in and unplug AC, launch the battery converter and convert it to a normal battery.

No, it's just a normal battery but with a special serial number in the EEPROM. If the PSP detects this serial number, it boots from the "magic" memory stick.
