its all about the feel of the car and quick reaction of being in control and yes it does takes some practice to know what to do or not to do.. anyone can learn how once they know the fact of what to feel and what to know what to do and not to do and the throttle and braking reactions.. its easy once you get a hang of it and all you got to do is practice to become better driver... :)

dude the fins drive on roads that are INSANE!!! they basically go through a advanced driving technique school before they get a lic. i think they do this at 15! now let me ask you this... How many people in japan have cars? that are capable of drifting or even sustaining a slide? not to many... but finland most cars are RWD or AWD simply cause FF just wolnt cut it out in the vast... nothing thats out there. but thats unfare cause of the sure mass of people in japan and "nothingness" in finland.

now out of those in japan who bother to learn. there are many advanced driving schools in japan.

driving does have to do with your brains.

not only does being smarter allow you to work out the fastest route before your dumber opponent can work out which way the wheels need to be facing. it usually comes hand in hand with split second reactions. you may just have a nack for driving, where as your friend, doesnt. but that doesnt mean he speaks for all smart people, assuming he is smart.

how close you are to your opponent. or if you passed your opponent, or if your opponent spins out. its different for every style. the american drift series are everything you namned. the japanese style is that plus other things.

The track wasnt too bad, very american style setup that favors big power and semi-slick tires. Id prefer to see a more technical based track ie. Ebisu, with more emphasis on weight transition and clutch work.

Well. Yeah. Just like nearly everything else, drifting is, well the style of it is really quite based on the country, mostly. You want very technical, go to Ebisu, like you said, but you want something with muscle, come to america(long beach). Our racing style came from muscle, so the muscle style racing leaks into the drift.
