Thumbs up if you can tell by what rhys said about getting Dai on the payroll as well as the fact Dai waits until rhys picks up his trophy to pick up his own(not even mentioning the obvious cheese of how the race was won xD) that Dai intentionally threw the race to pickup some extra cash...
these guys aint drifters.. they use over powerd pieces of shit.. that anyone can get the back end out on a HUGE corner... far easier then what the japanese are up to
its all about the feel of the car and quick reaction of being in control and yes it does takes some practice to know what to do or not to do.. anyone can learn how once they know the fact of what to feel and what to know what to do and not to do and the throttle and braking reactions.. its easy once you get a hang of it and all you got to do is practice to become better driver... :)
Well to the people arguing which countries poop out better drifters...lets say, that its just the driver. I am sure if someone wants to be good they will become good. Doesn't matter the ethnicity. Its all practice. and practice.
rhys you are the man but you know if you want to win you should hire a fin! stop messin around with these japs! finland would smash japan anywhere accept in computer chips....
dude the fins drive on roads that are INSANE!!! they basically go through a advanced driving technique school before they get a lic. i think they do this at 15! now let me ask you this... How many people in japan have cars? that are capable of drifting or even sustaining a slide? not to many... but finland most cars are RWD or AWD simply cause FF just wolnt cut it out in the vast... nothing thats out there. but thats unfare cause of the sure mass of people in japan and "nothingness" in finland.
actually. japanese people and i believe most of china, are genetically using more of the left side of their brain than you or i (Assuming youre caucasian) they also use an almost identicle ammount of their right side.
now out of those in japan who bother to learn. there are many advanced driving schools in japan.
driving has not much to do with your brains! but yeah ok so what they are smart... example my buddy is "smarter" then I am but he cant drive for beans. he has gone to schools and has a bad ass miata but thats the problem is he doesnt have the experience of different road types, surfa
oops stupid IE... but anyways surfaces and conditions. as the saying goes "you can fix ignorance but you cant fix dumb" his body and feel are dumb or atleast numb because he thinks to much! this all im saying. if you want a good driver send them to schools you want a great driver you mold them from years and years of experience in not just one thing but a variety applications of 5 wheels and 3 pedals. take the time and look up the fifth gear episode of when they sent captain slow to finland
not only does being smarter allow you to work out the fastest route before your dumber opponent can work out which way the wheels need to be facing. it usually comes hand in hand with split second reactions. you may just have a nack for driving, where as your friend, doesnt. but that doesnt mean he speaks for all smart people, assuming he is smart.
how close you are to your opponent. or if you passed your opponent, or if your opponent spins out. its different for every style. the american drift series are everything you namned. the japanese style is that plus other things.
lol Americans killed drifting? First of all Rhys Millen is Australian. Samual Hubenet (not sure about spelling) Is from Sweden. But if you say americans killed it, Why are the Japs not winning the competitions?
americans never have understood corners and the precision of driving, its all full speed wide tracked crap, just like how nascar and indy racing is a load of shit too. theres no class to american cars or racing, its just " duh lets put the biggest engine in a box and go round in circles duuhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh". id rather watch the d1nz in newzealand with real road drift cars and tracks with corners, and they call this the world champs? its only coz its americanized and shat on
its because the yanks use a different set of rules to the japs and us (aussies) ie. in america no passing allowed, as for us passing under drift is practically an automatic win
The track wasnt too bad, very american style setup that favors big power and semi-slick tires. Id prefer to see a more technical based track ie. Ebisu, with more emphasis on weight transition and clutch work.
Well. Yeah. Just like nearly everything else, drifting is, well the style of it is really quite based on the country, mostly. You want very technical, go to Ebisu, like you said, but you want something with muscle, come to america(long beach). Our racing style came from muscle, so the muscle style racing leaks into the drift.
I was there! Rhys kicked ass all weekend. All the FD drifters were tight though. Fast drifts and big wrecks were sick! But all the ash from the socal fires came down like snow, which kinda sucked!!

The real DRIFT is that JAPAN is going to see and not the U.S. (they just copy as many things) but this is just my opinion.

but yeah fin music sucks

finland has a few decent drifters at the moment, thatll pass. its not like every finnish person can drift. japanese people are usually the best.
