The mistake Konami made was in forcing you to perform perfectly to advance. That's stupid. I could understand if you couldn't fight the final boss set, but I think this stage shoulda been included even if you had a C rank.

@StealthyWalrus2010 I officially S Ranked this game in 2004. I've never seriously attempted since. This run doesn't count because Stage 6 was played on Practice Mode. My original plan was to only upload stage 6, but I got crazy and started uploading every stage. I died once in stage 6 while I was playing for real, which is why my ending rank was an A.

I've played CoD 2 and 4. I found the single player game on Veteran to be exceptionally hard because of the endlessly respawning enemies, but I did get 1000/1000 Achievements on part 2. I got tired of the frustration in 4 and I quit playing it. I don't really care a whole lot for FPS games. Not really my thing.

Hey Matrix, thanks to you. I got to this boss and Relic of Moirai. IT WAS FUCKING AWESOME! This boss with the robot is one of the best fights to ever take place on a plane in any video game. Plus the transforming animation is really slick. Just goes to show how powerful the PS2 engine is once you do things correctly.

Yeah, thats really interesting from a developers point of view. Usuallt game bosses evolve further or transform into something else. But devolving into a lower form is really awesome for a boss, and pretty original.

Thanks for this video, it helped me out! The giant cell was the only part of the game that I was having trouble with.

I was standing underneath of it and shooting up, and those pink things would hit me every now and then.

Crouching in the bottom left works like a charm.

You've got to beat stages 1-5 with an overall S or A rank. To get stage 7, you have to get an overall S or A rank from stages 1-6, or you get an ending after 6 is over.

I assume you mean while you're inside the cell. They all swim upwards before they decide to swarm down on you, so you have to watch for it. I duck while I shooting the core so they don't hit my head (and they do sometimes), and when they decide to swarm, I get in the corner so I only have to defend in front and above me.

I love this level. When I first played it I was so happy you'd get to fight the helicoptor-robot, especially after the first battle was interrupted. There's just something about a big transforming heli-bot.

You can kill the final form with the grenade launcher in less than ten seconds. Just go in the middle, shoot up (not charged!) and the thing is dead before it can attack you.

I've seen people do that in some videos. I like to play cautiously. Duck and fire so they don't hit my head. Get in the corner so I can defend myself without them getting behind me. The grenade launcher's too risky for me.

I'm playing the NA version of Shattered Soldier. As far as I remember my weapon setup has always looked like that. This was on Training Mode on Normal difficulty.

I've learned a few tricks myself from watching people's videos, but I've been playing this game since 2004, so most of the techniques are mine.

It changes depending on which of the shoulder buttons is used for the weapon select:

Horizontal -> Have the weapon select configured using an L-Shoulder and a R-Shoulder.

Vertical -> Have the weapon select configured using both buttons on either shoulder (i.e., L1 & L2/R1 & R2)

Aha, yeah. My lock buttons are the R1 & R2 buttons. My weapon change buttons are L1 & L2. Thanks for clearing that up.
