Hmm.. I don't think she quite could have beaten He Kexin for difficulty, she does less releases and her pirouetting and circling is very tricky but HKX's isn't too far off. Her Li Ya + Jaeger combo is beautifully smooth though, I prefer hers much over HKX.
That's how you do the dismount, Semenova! Her difficulty is probably close to He's but I'd say her execution is at least 3 tenths higher! She has no deadhangs and her kips aren't muscled. I don't know which I would've taken to Beijing... It would've been very close.
I didn't know anybody else did what He Kexin did. I'm getting the sense that on the Olympic team the only spots that were obviously given were Cheng Fei, and Yang Yilin. Maybe the rest they picked out of a hat. (Especially Deng Linlin she just came out of nowhere.)
