Hydrocortisone is generally used for rashes. general you use said topical cream for anything along the lines of skin surface problems (itching, redness, sores or dryness). Also helps with hemorroids.

This is a VERY basic first aid kit for like scraps and scratches. Say you are walking down a path, fall on a sharp rock and cut your arm open from wrist to elbow all the way down to the bone, i don't care how much cream, anti bacterial wipes and tiny bandages you have, you will get a nasty infection and likely bleed to death if you don't know how to fix the wound up.

When I cut the back of my hand really badly with my War-blade, I cut through 4 tenden's, most of the nerves and some of the bones in the back of my hand.

It was a brutal gash and because I cut into bone the thing swelled of and spread open like Pam Anderson's legs.

I put a big wad of toilet paper on it then had my Son wrap the thing with Electrition's tape.

The thing is, if you don't know first aid, take a basic first aid course.
