Well they're certainly going to be a net benefit for the system rather than loss. They are a proud industrious people and all will work, rather than claim benefits - which would be anathema to their values. The taxes raised from them, as from anyone else, will help them integrate into the state.
The Government should not be responsible for everyone, but we should honour any pledges made in blood.
Compare the U.S. Military or the French Foreign Legion for citizenship access. Much more lenient.

It's the same in the French Foreign Legion and the United States armed forces. In their cases it actually takes less time in those uniforms to earn the right to live in the community they served.

i agree that Gurkhas should return to Nepal because they knew when they signed up that they should return home after the service.
But what infuriate me is that the Gurkhas do not receive the equal payment and pensions as the British counterparts.
Therefore Gurkhas should return home with the same benefits and pensions as the british.
It's no use being a second class citizens at UK.
It's more honorable and dignified to live in one's own nation.

So they've won the right to settle- big deal. Our despicable government is buggering about and dragging out the process of implementation as much as it can.
The court decision has been made, but the government must not be allowed to weasel out of taking action on it.
This issue is not resolved until every Gurkha entitled and willing to retire in the UK has done so.
