Andy Kessler was known for the skate scene in NYC. Didja know he was a decent pool player? He wasn't Ginky or Tony, but he could run out on a good day.
thousands of people I've skated with, I can barely remember.some stick with you forever and made an impression.the ones that cared.(even when they didn't)stay with you.we'll miss you Kess.
It's hard to believe a 'bee sting' brought this guy down. Regardless of his talent - he was an inspiration to others and it's sad he was taken at a young age. RIP Andy.

this guy was no z boy thou when they came out I think ole andy tucked his tale between his legs and realized he was not as good as any of them. Sorry but andy was no tony alva, jay adams or stacey peralta.
He was no Zboy because he wasn't in California... He was in New York City. As far as him being no Alva, Adams or Peralta... You may want to ask T.A., Jay or Olson about that, because I can tell you they will feel differently... because I know they do.
Andy was a bright light that illuminated everyone's life who came in2 contact with him. I first met Andy when we were in our mid 20's. He remained the same funny, enthusiastic, interesting, caring, down to earth guy through the years.
I always told him he gave the best hugs. HP is hugging and hanging w/him now. I have some truly great memories from our friendship.
Andy, you win; I'll teach my son how to sk8 w/out you. I luv ya man!
Andy was an incredible person and skateboarder! He took us to skate the Autumn bowl, and made sure we ate some real NY pizza. We were 8 White Mountain Apache skateboarders visiting the big NYC for the first time. He really made a great impression on us, and was so cool and down to earth! Rest in Peace Andy! Thanks for the inspiration!
Rest in Peace to Andy Kessler, NYC skateboarding pioneer and skatepark builder. A mentor to all who rode the city streets. Thanks for everything Andy. We will skate in your honor. -Danny "Boston"
