  • showing the variations/similarities of one basic move was VERY helpful to me, thanks!

  • This is awesome Nick, I have been following your videos for a while and it has taught me so much. I have gotten to the point now where I can hybridize stuff and develop my own style, regardless I am going to buy your DVD because you helped me so much.

  • you crack me up man. +1000

hey where do i buy one of those baller hoodies?

  • Thank you for over head view I was lost in the hand motions

  • LoL nice myth at 3:15 hahaha

  • I can do the 4-beat windmill and corkscrew, but i always hit my face when i try the matrix move :(

  • I got so drunk in Prague of Kozel... Pf... Thanks for the vid, it helps me a lot!

  • I have to say this is a great video. Now i just have to break my patterns so i can figure it out. Over the summer i going to try to learn this and a meltdown.

  • Great videos, Nick - you're my main source of all things poi at this point, and it's fantastic. I hope to be able to go to one of your retreats sometime soon!

Thanks for the videos, I'd be lost without them :)

  • <3 Prague

  • How can it have all the feet off the ground? XD

  • Ey, Carl´s bridge in Prague, isn ´t it ??...

  • i love you. you teach so well. so much fun. thanks

  • @ashleyrose210 you`re so f***ing right :D THANKS

  • its so fast i dont understaen the move

  • i love you nick! i wonder how many hours total you have been spinning?

  • that things has to be on fire right???

  • do you have any vids on how to do the move at 2:02 ?. soz dnt no what its called

  • @555monkey666 they're called hyperloops, Nick has videos explaining them

  • I'm having a lot of trouble getting the four beats in the corkskrew/windmill.. do you have any quick tips on just that?

  • @Ipat42 The wrist-crossing/hook thing he's doing is the key. You can understand it better if you watch his tutorial on the 5-beat weave. Being able to do that crossing/hooking thing will unlock some moves for you.

  • This art is so dynamic, really is quite amazing!

  • Is it just me or is the Poi version of the Matrix a lot lot easier than the Staff or Contact Ball versions. :S

  • i had trouble finding this on playpoi, where abouts is it? i watched the more thoughts on 4by4 fountain video where you mentioned you had already done the tutorial but couldn't see it anywhere

(you'll never find the fun in poi with that hate in your heart. keep Poin' , maybe you'll get it someday :)

  • OGGZ RULE!!!!!!!!!

  • That's Prag, the Carls Bridge in the beginning, or?

  • if the horse is on 3 feet your a hippe

  • noob here, great tut. thanks

  • how do you the move at :23 - :24 ?

  • what was that thing you were doing at the beginning where the poi were spinning psycho fast

  • Orbitals I guess

  • superduperuberloops

(super-duper-uber-loops) i think was what they were called it was in another tutorial

  • before i watchd ur videos i could probably only do the weave the butterflie front and back the corkcrew and the buzzsaw now i can do alot more, thanxz to you, your wikid at poi and im catching up :P im starting to really enjoy it and getting hit alot less, i practise for atleast 4 hours a day and its banished my bingo wings haha thnxz.

  • my head hurts!!!

  • Of a horse injury! Lulz. ^_^

I must be wrong about this, but it feels like I'm doing a 3-beat windmill.

If I'm trying to do a 4-beat Corkscrew, I can feel the extra twist on the "down" part of it; when it goes above my head, I'm following the flow of the poi and i can make a pattern that feels right.

Is it possible to do the 2-beat Corkscrew on the "top" and the 4-beat part on the "bottom" at all? Or, does it just feel funny because I can't see behind my head?

  • i just wanna say thank u ur amazing and a very good teacher also...saludos de Guatemala buena vibra ;)...

  • My dog has gotten used to the sound of poi hitting furniture.

  • Hey Nick,

I'd really love to know how you do that (what I can only call) spiral wrap where you're doing inward butterfly. I can get the poi to wrap around my hands but get stuck at the point where they're sit on top of my hands. How do you get them to unwrap so effortlessly?

    Thanks,

    Mijikai.

  • i think he moves his hands together in a chopping motion when the poi aren wrapped around his wrist

  • These videos are brilliant! :)

I'd really like to know where I can get some handles like those. They look very flexible and streamlined.

All I can find are annoyingly wide/thick/inflexible ones.

  • The ones Nick uses these days are just strips of soft nylon looped around the swivel :)

  • when he said you could do it backwards, you motherfucker... just slipped out of my mouth... lmao

  • Is the matrix move basicly a 3beat weave, circling your body, or it the actual technique different?

  • Nope, it's more like a 4 beat windmill circling your body, but on the horizontal plane.

  • prauges a beautiful city

  • can you make more vid about the matrix move, how to actually enter it? ty for all nice vids btw! and GL!

  • i actually love all your videos !!

Your really good at this !! Keep it up =]

  • ogg poi love them or flow poi or just strings

  • diggin' that doodie in the beginning

  • sorry to burst your bubble but the thing about the horse statues isn't true its just an urban myth. i so wanted it to be true!!

  • Nick you have a bug in description of this video. My country name is Czech republic, not Chech republic. Please fix it.

  • Whoops. Thanks for pointing that out. Fixed now...

  • great video, as always nick! thank you!

  • Just recently met Sam personally and yes he is a nice guy for sure :)

  • wow.. amazing vid.. thanxs!!!!! i love the matrix move

  • Sick as Fuck! love it!

  • man from the top it helps the most

  • a big horse statue XD

  • gracias maestro!!!!!

  • AAaah! I finlly realized what I do wrong and why I couldn't do fountains before now! It is important to spin the right way, that being clockwize, cause it almost can't be done the other way (or as he sais, it will be a anti-spin kinda thing, which is much more difficult)

  • if all for legs of the horse are off the ground then they died of a horse falling on them. :)

  • I can't do it!!:@ :(:(:(óóó:(

  • do you have a dip in?? haha it looks like it iono, your one of my favorite poi'ists, great stuff, keeeep it up so we can keep admiring.

  • i love the way nick stalls... great stuff

  • I've watched this very carefully Nick and it appears that at some points the weave is 3 beats and at some points it's 4..... I can do the 3 beat easily but getting that fourth one in is difficult.. it doesn't feel very natural :(

    anyways, thanks

  • Haha Babies.

  • One question

With the fountain variation, is the weave on either side a 3 beat, or a 5 beat weave?

    Nick is the best!!!

  • this guys sorta strange-hes relly good tho

  • Buzerant !

  • What kind of POI is in this film, is it usually SOCK POI or may be another ??? Can somebody give me the website page , where I can order this kind because it is sure fantastic !!! answer, please ;)

  • the matrix move looks awesome!!!

as for the poi, I directly bought the ones you can do fire with cause didn't want to buy two pairs of poi and my ultimate goal is firedancing, and I didn't know if I was going to stick to my poi-mania-phase, anyway mine hurt A LOT, bopped myself this morning again :D

Huuuuh well am I talking about my life? Sorry :D

  • you are the man plain and simple

  • Hey nick, you should manufacture some of those awesome poi pants and sell them. I'd buy them!

  • i have seen the on ebay cyber poi pants ;)

  • Get ur ass to England! We're crying out for some Nick skillz!

  • I love this video, you and your crew have got my upmost respect,thank-you.

  • I like the way you explain this, I think I'll have it in a day or two. Thanks!

  • Good video!! you seem like a good guy ^_^

  • Great video, once again! I really liked the part about the poi cord, etc. I've been thinking about modifying some of my poi for a while! Five stars.

  • really cool! :)
