  • Long Live the SKS!

    ✭✭✭✭✭

  • can you show the disassemble of SKS? if it isn´t much of a problem?

  • a niso mel take podobne u vietnamu? leta 1965_1975?

  • Ya, v vietnamu so uporabljali ruske SKS - PAP M59/66 je pa Jugoslovanska kopija te ruske puške

  • where do you get the metal plates to shoot?

  • @robert02109REO From the metal plate store

  • I have a YUGo sks & its so accurate & I enjoy shooting it all the time. At least the bullets dont cost that much.

  • wow! i love it when the you can the echo for like a good 6 secs.

  • Love the tactical gear!

  • man hes a good shot

  • Yeah, i agree, he was quite good.

  • how far away is he shooting from

  • From 50 and 100 meters

  • I've never seen an SKS before this, and now that I've seen it, I have to ask:

That looks alot like a chinese Type 56. Are they in any way similar?

  • I think they are similar. This is a Yugo SKS - but you also have a lot of variants all over the world.

  • no the only similarity is the ammunition they fire. the Chinese type 56 is a copy of the

    AK47 :)

  • Actually Chinese Type 56 is a copy of SKS. The Type 56 Assault rifle is a copy of AK47. Those are two different things.

There are a lot of SKS copies such as:

Romanian SKS, Albanian SKS, East German SKS, (North) Vietnamese SKS, North Korean SKS, Chinese Type 56 and Yugoslavian PAP

  • yea you are right. stupid chinese and their copies! haha

  • isn't this sks more accurrate thn an(chinese)ak47? cuz im lookin at one but dont wanna waste my money on it if it ain't cuz i got a ak

  • It is more accurate

  • its more accurate bacause of longer barrel, semi only and less recoil due to weight. be sure to get a chrome plated barrel. i think yugo's are plated im not sure

  • @Mike1642 Did you ever buy that SKs ? if not its not bad on accuracy its just got alot of recoil.

  • @Lamb00FGoD yea i bought it. It is a very good gun, a little heavy but i expected that. it shoots great at 80yards(farthest i've been able to shoot it at so far) and hardly any recoil and on top of that my dad bought me a part for it that dampens whatever recoil it has.

  • hey i want to ask you if the SKS can be fired by a lefty? Does the brass get bounced to the side and forward or would it get dangerously close to a face on the other side? thanks! Im considering getting one (Hows that for a first firearm!) but i want to know if i would lose an eye!

  • SKS can also be fired from the left hand. Brass flies away from the head so that shouldnt be a problem.

  • Its never been a problem for me and I'm a lefty. My right handed friend actually got unlucky and a shell bounced off of something in the range. The round rolled into his arm and game him a hot little surprise.

  • Can the grenade launcher be removed?

  • Yes, its attached to the rifle with a single pin

  • Papovka slovenska vojska ih ma še zmer :D

  • sam da so puške

  • my dada have an sks and its not really accurate at the target..its always going up

  • ima isto dolgo cev kot M70, al je bližje pm-u M72?

  • PAP-ovka ima daljšo cev kot M70.

  • I only have a Chinese Sks :C

  • It doesnt really matter, does it? All SKS rifles are fun to shoot.

  • Indeed. The only drawback to the Yugoslavian SKS (very minor, not worth fussing over!) is the lack of a chrome lined bore, which basically means it just takes a bit longer to clean than my Russian SKS does. The M59/66 is still a very affordable, rugged, and reliable firearm. It is also very well built, with all metal parts being milled.

  • I also always considered non chromed barrel as a drawback. I also didnt understand why they didnt chrome them until my friend, an experienced shooter told me that they decided not to chrome the barrels because of the accuracy.

I did some research and i found out that only the best match grade rifles have cold forged and non chromed barrels.

  • I have heard various reasons for lack of a chrome lined barrel. Others claim that Yugoslavia was short of equipment to mine ore for a time (or others say USSR would not supply it), but had it later on (Yugoslavian Kalashnikovs have chromed bores.). Not sure what is true or not.

Chrome does reduce accuracy somewhat, but I am not sure why they would try to improve an SKS; 7.62X39 is not the most accurate round out there, and the Dragunov is accurate in spite of a chrome lined bore.

  • Yeah, i heard almost the same story :)

I think that is not true, because Slovenia is one of the countries of former Yugoslavia and they had chrome and also the technique to put it in the barrel.

The whole series of guns were not chromed - Yugo AK - M70 was also not chromed.

Even today the same factory still doesnt chrome some of the rifles.

Oh, and 7,62x39 is quite accurate round. It has flat trajectory and good balistics.

It mostly depends from the rifle that shoot with.

  • Yes, I have heard that they did have chrome. Maybe those shortage stories are false.

I can't tell the difference in accuracy between my Russian SKS and my two Yugoslavian ones. Then again, I am shooting at a range of between 40 to 50 meters, so hard to tell in a short distance.

Yes, I got ahead of myself there - I was comparing the 7.62X39 to newer rounds like 5.56X45 and 5.45X39. It does well for an intermediate cartridge of its time (started 1943).

But any SKS is cheap and rugged. :)

  • na kok daleč je to streljal

  • S puško na 100m, s pištolo na 25m

  • Nice vid, I bought a Russian SKS (Tula 1952) with blade bayonet years ago. I gave it to my older son (age 16). Recently I switched out the original stock and fixed magazine with all new Tapco OD green furniture and detachable magazines. This summer when we go out to Eastern Oregon to shoot I'll get some video of him shooting it for here.

  • Yes, post it on youtube, i would really like to see that.

  • Does this still have it's rifle grenade launcher on it like mine?

  • Yeah, it stil have that on barrel - it looks really ugly without it.

  • I know right

Seveda oni dostikrat vidijo vzrok v "slabi municiji"

  • Mene neki zanima . Kej res da SKS u primerjavi s kalašnikom stalno dela zastoje

  • S tole PAP še nikoli nisem imel problemov. Tudi ostali strelci, ki jo imajo niso še nikoli govoili o kakšnem zastoju.

Mogoče original ruska SKS ni tako zanesljiva...

  • I want too!!!!!!!!!!

  • I go today to You :P
