the higest ram up todate is 8 gb ram so 12 could be a server computer

my alienware also has 12gb and the motherboard has 6 ports for RAM. they are filled up with 2gbs to make 12gb

i already have the acer aspire one in xp and it is alot fasterthan my old acer aspire one in vista i havent even gotten off of it it is amazing (22 years old)

my AAO hangs about 30 seconds in a blackscreen when booting vista, hdd isn't even responsing.

but after 30 seconds it continues booting.

don't know why.

XP is best for smaller laptops as it is much faster, it doesn't require as much requirements. And also, most small laptops come with XP, or else Linux.
