ah but u see when an american says its not too thirsty, in contraire in europe it means it uses around 18liters for 100km/h meaning, around 5gallons for 62mp. also americans really dont know what its like here with the fuel prices. a gallon here in finland will cost you around 7 dollars. But no ill agree, it is a great car. and not meant for driving on the track,but in the muddy lanes of a forrest path.

What they were designed 4 they do better than anything else on the road/offroad.Ive competed in landrovers since 16 & nothing beats them.
Nissan Micra? I have an Elise. I spent a lot of time driving L319s, L322s and Jaguar X350s. The X350 is orders of magnitude better to drive AND weighs 800kg less.
As for Land Rover Defenders? The best in the world.
What do you know about this car? I was part of the engineering project at Jaguar cars that developed the engine for this car and have spent quite a few months drivig it. It is awful. For people who are so defficient in the rest of their lives that they feel they need a 2 1/2 tonne car to bully others. Want a real 4x4? Get a Landy 90. Want a performance car? Get an XJR or M5.
Should that be the case, then I may consider one but I imagine that 99% of the RRs sold in the UK & US don't go anymore offroad than on the driveway. I can't remember the last time I went off road.
Why do people come on here and lie to big up their own personal preferences. Oh yeah, and btw I solely designed, developed and flew Challenger into orbit. When it blew up, I just jumped out and landed on a Lada which I then got in and drove home, so therefore it must be an awesome car. Twat.

These cars don't design themselves, so it's not unreasonable to expect that some of the people who do help design them read what other people think of them. Unfortunatley it means reading comments from muppets, too.
It's not a preference that I think that this car is too big, too heavy and uses too much fuel. It's a fact. Why have a chassis AND a monocoque?? It just adds mass. It's almost a ton HEAVIER than an XJ8!!
I dunno why but i absolutely despise all Range Rovers. Land Rovers i can stand but not Range Rovers.

Since 2004 Range Rovers have been terrible quality for a "luxury" vehicle.
Parts fail too often and the RR service quality leaves a lot to be desired . A 1990 Landcruiser will be more reliable than a 2007 Rang Rover.
Far too many excuses made for this car.
The Best landrover Off Road is the Discovery 4.
