have you got the clip where they are cops and have to talk a gun with a gun to come out to surrender himself but Jones who is the uniformed copper keeps winding the bloke up

The opening sketch in the studio with the thin one dressed up in Bondage gear is a complete ripoff of the opening sketch of episode 2 of the very original 'Horne and Corden' sketch show currently being shown on BBC3.
How can it be a rip off when this was made some 20/30 years before Horne and Corden? They were probably something like 12 years old when this was first aired. Do your research.
p.s. anyone know what episode, and jesus its a totally insignificant sketch, where Mel is a cop/c.i.d. i think, and starts chaseing after a criminal through a building, mel takes a dive after the dude, ploughs through double doors i think, goes in to a slide, then turns a corner and continues to slide on his belly for ages after the guy,i must have replayed it on betamax a 100 times, cheers.
does anyone remember or have the sketch where they're ordering food, and try to out do each other with a ridiculous menu?

The bit "in front of the curtain" could have been an Eric and Ernie script.

Shame they always had to have so much canned laughter in the shows. Great though.

Surely with the only exception being that Alas Smith & Jones was made and broadcast during the 80's and Horne & Corden in 2009... right?

Horne and Corden ORIGINAL? Don't make me laugh, they're practically the biggest cliche on the planet! They're nothing compared to Smith and Jones.

I think series 2 was their best, followed by series 3 (1987).
They should put this out on DVD as well as the complete NTNOCN series..
Nickyootoob 3 years ago
Series 3 was infact 1986 (18 Sep - 23 Oct).

I must mean series 4 - the one with the different music...

Series 4 was indeed 1987, the series has great titles.

In which series was there the sketch where Griff gets to interview Oliver Reed (Smith) and he enters a room full of empty bottles?
Nickyootoob 3 years ago
To be honest I don't actually remember, I'd have to watch out for the sketch the next time I watch my collection.
