  • beautiful chant... it helps us gain calmness... :)

  • something about a banana party.

  • I didn't understand how chanting fit into Buddhist ceremonies before I saw My Reincarnation. The Rinpoche in that movie was an unbelievable man, really interesting and wise. Jennifer Fox documented his family's life over 20 years and the effects of Westernization on Modern Buddhist practices really stand out: bitly .com/s5zUze

  • if it was thai or lao haha its india

  • jsytjtjtttydfjndjnfjdumbikoto rughdfh hiys s gkuuueu jfieoioiefj ojos nokonts duksy satan la sou lashay sapan jgjdgjnicokay sadme

  • I'm a monk myself and this is a very good chant we use for calming people,I studied in myanmar myself to become a monk

  • @hoxas777 I feel that you are still young and powerful. You may not need a teaching or religion. One day when you feel bad to the world, please try studying a religion’s teaching, Any! until you find the one that you can understand and that it could comfort you. I wish you luck and a peaceful life.

  • @hoxas777 It is not praying for the statue, but statue is the reminder of Buddha's teaching. Many chanting are rehearsal of the teaching. In the world there are many religions and believes and every religion and believe are mean to give peace to the miserable minds. Because people are different and have different way to absorb or understand so each religion also have different way of giving wise advices. Every religion’s teaching are good and very deep.

  • Beautiful Beautiful Seeing Humans Chanting So Peacefully So Powerful Amazing Amazing I Am A Catholic Christian From United Mexican States Commonly Known As Mexico

  • you all buddhist are sooo STUPID !! how can you pray for statue that you have made with your own hand ? he can do nothing for you

  • @hoxas777 You obviously have a fundamental misunderstanding of Buddhism. Please do some research before you start calling people stupid. Why do christians pray towards a picture of Jesus on the cross? You're not really praying to that physical object infront of you right? Regardless of what religion you are, I don't think it would hurt to atleast familiarize yourself with others beliefs. Shit, I'm a "devout" atheist, yet I have studied and continue to study, all religions. :)

  • @cycodevilboy hhhhh your funny, first christians pray towards a picture of jesus on the cross because they think the crossed him on the cross thousends of years ago, they think that jeasus is son of god, that god married his creating maryam and haved their son jeasus but jeasus isnt dead they didnt crossed him on the cross, from what i see you didnt' actually look like someone who has studied all religions, your just a normal person

  • @hoxas777 How dare you call me a normal person! I would love to counter your nonsensical rant, but we're clearly not going to get anywhere with this. Hail Zeus, I'm out.

  • @cycodevilboy what ??!!?? who do you think you are GA7BA ?? ofcurse we are not going anywhere with this because of rock minded like it's clearly that were not going anywhere KS OMK !!

  • @hoxas777 Rabble, rabble, rabble!!!

  • @cycodevilboy ks omk ks abok KS OMK !!

  • ive acctually been considering becoming a buddhist for sometime now but i dont know how to start off if someone could give me some info then please reply to this peace and love to all

  • @kenco124 Google Buddhist temples in your area, and go!! haha! They (Buddhists) are very friendly and will allow you to sit with them during meditation.

  • san kalpa, put on party party a come on pujayme, come on a party party a some one pujayme, mommy balla some odd ga mo.

  • The chanting is so relaxing and calming. better than any music.

  • Religion across the world is beautiful, mysterious and interesting.

  • Sathu Sathu Sathu

  • mein freund heist sankalpa

  • vita -- this is India..

  • @hadsha Its nice to see Indian Buddhists. Buddhist Dhamma/Dharma is very emancipating and liberating teaching. Especially Samatha-Vipassana Bhavana (meditation) is helping to use moral precepts an to be calm

  • Thanks for this vedio, got a chance to see our Buddist chant in a different country, I think this is Sri Lanka

  • @naamaruupa

Oh gosh, you are still at this? It is not considered singing by their terms. Probably by your standards, it is singing, but not to them. And besides, it's not like Buddha is going to come and smite them for it even if they were singing lol.

  • party party yeah!

  • Awesome singing. It is spiritual to the point of sounding like some muslim/Middle Eastern songs, which I personally adore. However, the bald monk on the left freaks me out. He gives the impression of being capable to drop unconsious any moment during the ceremony. There's also something purely scary about his appearance, and I don't know what it is in particular.

  • @hadsha where can i get a copy of this beautiful Pali buddhist chanting?

  • great

  • what is love, when You may change some schemas in my mind and make me feel like I will love You ?? it is just Your game. so I don't play those games. what is taste sense, or touch sense, when You may replace their functions. or block some of them ... so what is love for You ?? some kind of freaky game, and I don't wanna play that game.

  • I like this Video

  • _/\_ sathu

  • _/\_

  • party party

  • nosorong - Hinayana does not exist., they are from Theravada tradition. they are from Maharashtra. , india.

  • @hadsha Cheers. Hinayana is a derogatory term, and there is no room for derogatory comments along the path to enlightenment.

  • Sri Lankan chanting

  • Are these a Hinayana school followers? Where this vid is made?

  • @JohnJuanUnited : You claim yourself to be a Buddhist?!! Have you read any of Buddha's teachings? Have you done even the slightest meditation or contemplation of the teachings? Haven't you even learnt that no Buddhist monk pretends to be god? You don't even know that there is no concept of god in Buddhism. You just pretend to be Buddhist for your own silly vanity.

  • adha imaya = surely by my

    patipatiya = practise

    jati = birth

    maranamha = death and all

    parimucasami = i be liberated

  • Imaya = by my

dhammanu = in accordance to dhamma

dhamma patipatiya = practise of dhamma

Buddham / Dhammam / Sangham = to the Buddha /Dhamma/Sangha

    pujemi = I pay homage

By my practise of Dhamma in accordance to the Dhamma, I pay homage to the Buddha / Dhamma / Sangha

  • For anyone who desires the truth, I would highly recommend checking out the scribd website that is listed on my channel.

  • Don't trust these beings, they worship behomaut

  • @Revanchist12 christ was behomaut right ? they do not worship christ.

  • @Revanchist12: You are unable to understand that they are not worshipping anything. There is nothing to worship in Buddhism. It is about improving one's mind, gaining a deeper understanding of oneself and the world and thus attaining inner peace.

  • sadhu sadhu sadhu at the end means well said in Pali

  • @JohnJuanUnited Wow youre very very ignorant to what Buddhism is even about. Honestly, stop calling yourself a Buddhist, try learning about it, find out if its for you. Then if it is, change your attitude and call yourself a Buddhist. Cus' all your doing is dirtying the name.

  • I respect this chant but did anyome ells hear 'yeah everyone here wanna party party' from 0:50

  • @margedililisaxoxo hahah yeaa

  • @JohnJuanUnited

You sound so idiotic to base the essence on a movie made by Hollywood. There is no god in Buddhism and Dalai Lama has repeatedly said about it repeatedly.

Dalai Lama describe himself as simple Buddhist monk. You should learn Buddhism 101 and then comment on Buddhism later otherwise you are making fool of your self.

  • #

    JohnJuanUnited is not buddhist

  • @JohnJuanUnited Yes, you go on building a nation full of carpenters and farmers. You dont need scientists, engineers, doctors, teachers ect.Your thinking is so obsolete that you want the world to be like centuries ago when people survived mainly on farming and carpenting. For the world to develop and the human beings to fulfill the potential, diversification and fruitful channelizing of varying talents are needed.Your main problem is that your dictatorial tendency to feel that you alone is right .

  • @JohnJuanUnited Buddhism should be? Sorry but buddhism isn't about shoulds. It is about what is. And you don't sound like a buddhist.

  • They are singing praises of Starbucks frappuccino.

  • You know what I really really hate dumb ass people that do not know what they are talking about and comment with their crazy ignorance. Thumps up people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • damn i started dancing in my room to his voice..does that make me weird

  • SOUNDS JAMAICAN AT THE START LOL

YAMARRR DA DA PATTY POTTY PAH

  • let us people form a world of freedom and truth with all of us combined spiritually to achieve the happiness all of our souls deserve :)

  • Would you please say where this sangha is? What country? I'm interested in how the chants change as they have spread from place to place. Thai monks sound quite different, I'm guessing the monks in the video are Sri Lankan or Indian.

  • scribd (dot) com/nb812

  • We must destroy the idols of the heart through meditation and commitment to the path of truth. Idols manifest as attachments. A statue in and of itself is not an idol.

  • Sadu Sadu Sadu

  • namu amida butsu the chant of no suffering om mani padme hum( peace to all beings naer or far known or unknown real or unreal)

  • Those kids are looking at the camera, they should be praying!

  • I kept laughing at how he said "potty".

  • in buddhism alot of the words are the lanuguage of buddhism or sumthin like that

  • Its funny to think of how many people think Buddhism is a Chinese religion- when it is in fact a religion that originated in India. Buddha was Indian.

  • @Treemeadow ya buddha was an indian hindu kshatriya prince, but buddhism ws never a popualr religion in india and ws later wiped out by muslims who burned down thr monastries and universities lik destruction of nalanda, vikramshila marked the end of buddhism in india,ya i agree many people think thth buddha ws chinese coz it smonstly followe by chinese, japanese n koreans but its very much an indian religion, but its no longer followed in india

  • @Treemeadow most of the later buddhists wer either forcefully converted to islam or wer absorbed into hinduism and morever if u see majority of the regions wich r islamic today in south asia r those where buddhism ws prevalent lik sindh, kashmir, west punjab, bengal, afghanistan, and all the areas where hinduism ws prevalent remained hinduism since buddhists being pacifist nevr offered ny resistance to muslim invaders sumthin wich hindus did and thts y hinduism survived and thrives in india

  • Buddha is not a God. Everyone has the power to be a Buddha (awaken one). Everyone is a Buddha awakened or sleeping.

  • i soundslike hes going 'party"! party!" sorry.im immature

  • 南無阿彌陀佛

  • part party party on lol

  • The message is the truth. Great individuals keep rediscovering it when it i lost.

We don't have to rediscover it, but we do have to work very hard to realy understand it.

(I'm a long way from nderstanding it all.)

  • This is a very peacefull chant and is a meditation in itself. Even my three year old grandson recognizes this when I play it. This shows me that it is what it is, even to an unknowing child. Goodness shines through. Its not about a God, but God within you and the recognition of a path with heart, love, and compassion.

  • it first made me think he was saying party party. it really is beautiful though.

  • @DSMDoll life is kid of party too.

    you are not worng.

  • Great stuff.

  • Which is greater the message or the messenger?

  • the message. the message helps you on the path to enlightenment. the messenger is but one man putting the message into words. its the story and what you get from it that matters.

  • both are the same ;)

  • ah, i tried:) lol

  • Why did this bring tears to my eyes??? Good tears though I guess...

  • I'm going to attempt to learn Pali on my own soon. I wish my college taught it. It would be much easier that way.

  • very nice n reply on buddism thanks for good presentation n happy chanting-Dhammavandana,Rajan

  • Budhism teaches that the Budha is within the person not in the material representations or statues.

  • Om mani padme hum, greetings my fellow students of the Buddha! Peace and harmony in the world.

  • Do you know the translastion for this?

  • Thanks for posting this. This is the one true chanting style saved throughout the generations, and kept alive by our Sri Lankan brothers.

I'm from the Thai-Buddhist lineage, and it is a shame how Thai-Khmer chanting became corrupted and displeasing to the ear.

    JMHO

  • Idols can be made by hand and human is not capable of making statues with legs

ok any how if question is regarding idol worship , then Buddhist are not Idol worshipers.

The dictionary defines an idol as "an image or statue worshiped as a God".

As we know, Buddhist do not believe that the Buddha was a god, so how could they possibly believe that a piece of wood or metal is a god?

  • @hadsha "Realization will not arise from cast images and so forth. However, if one makes energetic effort in wisdom, from that the practitioner will become Enlightened"

    - Glorious Great Buddhas' Union with Perfected Dakinis Uttaratantra

  • @hadsha

well put. whatever happened to the 8 spoked wheel being the symbol of buddhism as it represents may aspects of buddhism? the turning of the dharma wheel and the eightfold path to nirvana? did you know that anthropomorphic potrayal of the buddha was scarce til the advent of the greco-indian bactrian kingdom?

  • All religions use symbols to express various concepts.

In Taoism, the ying-yang is used to symbolise the harmony between opposites.

    In Sikhism, the sword

And in Buddhism, the statue of the Buddha also reminds us of the human dimension in Buddhist teaching, the fact that Buddhism is Buddha-centred[Buddha means Enlightened one], not god-centered, that we must look within not without to find perfection and understanding.

So to say that Buddhist worship idols is not correct.

  • As I have made clear Buddhist are not Idol worshipers. I would like to present this., these Pali verses are only which I got where salutations are made . Salutation to the Three main objects of Veneration Pal - Vandami cetiyam sabbam Sabba thanesu patitthitam Saririka dhatu Maha-Bodhim Buddha-rupam sakalam sada English - I salute every chetiya (Shrine) That may stand in any place, The bodily relics, the Great Bodhi And ALL IMAGES OF BUDDHA last line which in CAPITAL are the actual answer
  • religion is about realizing true reality and the energy that we have in us.

  • @77705000000000000000

Em sorry but, what Allah are you talking about

Allah also means god in hebrew religion hes its place but until a height.

Buddishm hes noting to do with god but working on your self instead of relying on god or demons for power.

So you christians and muslims talking about god have no relvantce.

  • @hadsha hey y is hindi language being used here,it must be sri lanka or something budhdism in india is dead long back thr r no indian buddhists as far as i no

  • Comment removed

  • Buddha is not a god a but the god within ¨purity that comes from inside°

I have to agree that even the vedas teach that there is only 1 god, that the eastren and jewish religion in the passed have being corrupted with idol worship

  • hey this is the guy who wrote the comment before that was my friend's account this is my brother's. What i told my friend to write in reply was:

There is no difference between tainted and non-tainted, there's only what's "okay" on your moral scale and those scales can be fucked up by everything and anything

  • hey mlndstream that is so wrong, it might be what is preached but until you actually experience losing "desire" than you don't even know. Losing desire saps the joy out of this life, and relying on an afterlife is just an idea of security. Desire things and objects, that's why they are here! Why would we be able to desire if we shouldn't? Why the fuck must we relate otherworldly whatevers to human motives?! Fuck it, we have everything at our disposal for a reason so use it!

  • know what matters & does'nt matters,the tainted & non tainted.

  • there is no tainted and non tainted

  • Satu Satu Satu Anoumotamee

  • My bad, I'M trying to learn, not lim!

  • Yo' HADSHA, you still hav'nt found the translatioin for this yet homie?Whats up man? Iim trying to learn.

  • Sadhu! Sadhu! Sadhu!

  • Maybe this was the end of a Vipassana sit

  • Great blessing to listen this chanting

  • ☸May ALL Beings be truly Happy.☸

  • nice

  • that's somehow the ancient boudism and it's highly effected by indian Yoga .However boudism improved much further when tt brought out of india , and especially in Mahayana schools

  • imo.Liberation is obtained after renouncing all sense pleasures which come through the sense doors, including indulging in ear contact of music, you don't need any musical aides to obtain liberation, in fact such attachments need to be renounced along with all other sense pleasures, if someone chooses to remain attached to music, then that is their choice, but this is not the Dharma as taught in the Tripitaka. Can something become more pure the further it spreads from it's original point?

  • So calming, like lullaby.

This is most likely Sri Lankian tradition.

  • yes i think so

  • The head monk was probably trained in Sri Lanka - his chanting melody is nearly identical to theirs. But their Indian pronunciation of Pali is near perfect.

  • UnlimitedTimeOnly - friend these monks chanting is from Maharashtr, India

  • Thanks, hadsha. Very cool. I didn't know there was such an organized Theravada movement in present-day India.

  • This is most likely from Sri Lanka (Ceylon). Buddhism essentially ceased to exist in India after the 12th century A.D., but continued to thrive in Sri Lanka. All the early Pali manuscripts we have now are from Sri Lanka, in Sinhalese script.

  • Interesting , the last remains of guatama Bouda in India

in a way , these kind of boudism is the original

  • it is from india becouse thai does not look like them and i know some words what they are saying like sa thou we bow and pradal means free and buddhism came from india remember buddha was a prince of india until he saw the suffering and remember all the great empires that came from S.E.A came from india Angkor Wat, Funan they all originated from india thats where we are from

  • very nice

  • Namaste

  • WOW it's beautiful...

  • This is probably filmed in Sri Lanka.

  • Is this in india?

  • i dont think its india, 'cause in india, there is like 2% buddhists. I think its in thailand or something

  • Those people don't look Thai though...

  • true...

  • They could be Nepalese? People in Nepal look like people in India, but they don't follow Theravada Buddhism (the sect that chants in Pali like this)

  • i were just guessing xD but nepalese seems right :D

  • not quite true, in an average nepalese crowd you will see mixed faces that are a mixture of indic faces and the mongoloid faces from the hills, if not many other. and while its is true theravada buddhism is not as wide spread in Nepal, it is not at all abnormal for a theravada buddhist monk to be invited or even just walk in a monastry of a different line to share his time or knowledge. the distinction is never made among the followers like you would see in a judean religion, its very normal.

  • KOGR11, I'm sorry, I was speaking generally rather than specifically. I should have said so.

  • oh you dont need to apologize i was just stating that for clarification for anyone else reading the comments. my apologies in return if i sounded rude.

  • Not Nepal. Nepali people look more diverse. Some Nepali look like Indians, some don't.

  • its INDIA

  • ok :D but, how do you know?

  • wont u able to tell if u see americans that they are americanss.. i know the difference b/w indians, nepalis etc.. i am indian. and the man's accent..

  • nope - i dont

  • this is either india or lanka, not nepalese. I have been to all the countries in the sub continent and the nepalese local ethnic faces are quite different. most probably lanka.

  • beautiful

  • This chant got really catchy tune, it would make good next summers hit song^^

  • Could someone give me Sankalpa written down? I would greatly appreciate it since l cant find it anywhere:(

  • I think they are talking about maya the illusion!

  • Wonderfull!

The fibrations of this chanting gives me a peacefull chill feeling

  • Thanks Harshavardhan for the video...Could you please translate it...If you have already done that somewhere, I think I've missed it...Thanks in advance...

much metta to you and to everyone....

  • Sounds like hes saying party hard haha, cool either way :)

  • ~Party party hard~ 0:32

  • lololololololololololol

  • Thank you very much for loading. I am so thankful that I've started using to pray everyday now. I'm Buddhist also and I think this chanting is very nice. Do you have any CD from him that I can order?

  • Namaste

  • Beautiful! May peace bring upon all human minds and beyond.

  • Ya! I can so see it.
