Perth television for 23 years (between STW-9's opening in 1965 and the launch of NEW-10 in 1988) had a unique arrangement, where both 9 and 7 cherrypicked 0-10 Network (later Network Ten) programming, in addition to their primary network affiliation.
It was common to see popular 10 programs on rival channels in Perth, e.g. Fat Cat on TVW and Simon Townsend's Wonder World on STW.
By 1988 however, NEW10 came in, and Perth's TV choices equalled the eastern states.
I remember through the 1980s, STW 9 and TVW 7 fought it out in the courts to prevent Channel 10 starting in Perth. They stalled its opening for quite a number of years claiming that they would suffer badly from a loss of advertising revenue etc....Eventually, NEW10 started in 1988 and STW became at that time part of National Nine Network (Bond)while TVW ended up owned by Qintex.
As an American, I recognize and love the "Still the One" theme; Nine used ABC's campaigns and slogans, and graphics (both adapted and new) from Harry Marks.

A1 Quality !!
9 so proud to have "Prisoner" which in effect was a risk programme for 0-10 in the East.
It had a soft release in 1979 with only 16 episodes ordered in view of a possible one off limited series.. and then.. it just went OFF !!
One of the most popular Australian TV series ever made and a launching pad for so many talented Australian Women !!
And ALL 692 episodes now available on DVD.. Hell has any other TV show managed that ?
Aaaaaaamazing :-)

Prisoner may've been a risk program but it paid off big time.

This is a similar cut (AKA the Space Invaders.. Ding Da Ding Ding at the start) QTQ 9 Brisbane used to use as well at the start of 1980 !!
Great quality !!

Obviously not so in Perth...

Correct,0/10 Network programmes were split between Channels 7 & 9 until NEW10 came along in March '88.
