If you want to do it cinematically you should just send them all up the road. But if you want to do it accuratly then you'd probably have to have half the squad give distracting fire while the other half flanks through the forest.

@NicR94 Yeh its a repro but not an accurate one but they get the job done as a movie prop. If ur going for an accurate ww2 impression i would just go on ebay and buy an original which can be low as $10. Anyways if u really need one badly u can get the one shown in the vid Omahas Army Surplus website, although i got mine as a gift. Hope that helped :)

Have you decided what you are gonna do for this movie yet? if not I would say for the battle if you have 6 men send a squad of 3 to the left flank while the other 3 sneak through the grass. when in position the men on the left flank open up and distract the germans while the other 3 pick them off from in the grass. thats what I would do but if you dont like that idea its fine by me! by the way nice gear!

@julokings ur best bet is ebay u can find tons of cheap look alike ww2 gear. Type in vintage helmet under the collectibles category than click militaria for jackets type in m65 jacket. For weapons try building ur own if ur parents arent to comfortable.

i would agree with therangersleadtheway's idea but instead of 1 sharpshooter at the tree line, have another on the opposite side, therefore havein 2 unknown positions taking down the enemy from far and allowing the troopers to move in without trouble.

I know you already have a large amount of sugestions on the map, but please listen to mine. I have been studing airborne techniques for most of my 13 years, and i think that they would send a small group into the forest on each side, and one group up the middle. The side groups would have riflemen and snipers and the forward groups most likely have machineguns (browning m1919s) and thompsons(m1a1s). They would have probably given granades to the center guys.

for the strategy this is what you should do if your having like 5 or whatever number of actors if you have and even number split them in half and have one team go through the forest and distract the MG nest and the other enemy infantry if you have an odd number have more people go with the team that crosses the road and flanks the MG nest after the flank the enemy the others(the distractors) move forward and over the MG nest both teams then advance up the hill and you can decide what happens

1 american runs out in the open or does something the draw the attention of the MG42 and the surrounding germans and the camoflauged soldiers take them out ?

they would put all that they could in it, im pretty sure you got the reserve chute thing off of band of brothers. they would put extra clothing (socks, trousers, underwear), rations, ammunition, and such. putting the reserve chute in the mussete just takes up space for other valuable items that could have been in there. . .

the mg is the main priority,you need to have 2 or 3 guys at the edge of the field, looking at the german rifleman.then you have a sharp shooter go to the right into the trees.let the guy at the tree line take out the mg then the other at the field give supresive fire on the german rifleman.then the other guy at the trees go around and take the other germans buy suprise!it will work for i have studied military tactics and strategy.

And a good idea for your map woulb be a flanking move. Split up the group, have one group distract the Germans by giving the other group cover fire. And have the second group go around the the side or behind the Germans to take them out.

And depending on what enemies are up ahead the same plan would be used. But at your first reenactment with us you will get to know a little bit about small squad tactics which can help with your movies.

Great gear man!!! In the box of pistole belts you have use the brown one that says U.S. on it. Switch that one for the one you have on your M44 susspenders. But yeah the black holster is Vietnam, so it wouldn't be used. But for movies it will work fine. Your para belt get up looks great use that in reenactments it has the basic field gear of a soldier. You may have to get M1 Carbine pouches or an M1 Garand belt soon though.

My strategy would be to have 2 guys with the most fire power creep through the woods on the right side of the road and give cover fire and distract the Germans while the other three creep up on the far left side of the grass field and charge them. Them the other two in the woods would come too

Yup roughouts would be the correct boots to wear with leggings in most of WWII. The first model of combat shoes were the service roughout boots. Which later on became what soldiers would wear with their Class A uniform.

. i only have a total or 4 or 5 repros in my entire collection. Ya,...black holsters were not issued in WWII. They were used during the Korean and vietnam and also post vietnam years. in korea. they sometimes took old ww2 holsters and painted them black and re-issued them.

You should also have the correct uniform and helmet liners....not post war stuff. it just doesnt look right.

i don't think they did.....the earliest they used black .45 holsters was in the Korean war and early Vietnam, they either had black made holsters or they used left over WWII holsters and painted them black... i have never seen a WWII black .45 holster that was actually issued in the second world war by the army, send me a picture of someone in WWII having it and i will believe you....

I would say the best maneuver would be to leave one guy at the end of the road,and then let the other guy run up the road to check out what the hell they were going up against.Then,have them both take cover.One of them gives the other surpressing fire while the other flanks the germans and takes them out,Thats just my strategy Good Luck!

I'd pretty much just say Fire & Maneuver.

Get the guys to set up covering fire if needed in the rear, then split the rest up in two teams, sneak up on each side, and unleash Hell on the sons-of-bitches.

I'm not sure how they'd do with like 4 or 5 guys, but that's how I'd wanna do it with a larger amount of guys. I guess you could still do this, but it probably wouldn't be as effective as if you had five guys on each side. Though it would be easier to sneak to their flanks and strike.

Send 2 groups of 3 men on both sides of the trees. left and right. the germans would be expecting anything.. well only and idiot would think they would only come one direction... unless the americans cant see the germans.. then they would go in the road... but anyway...

you get the men to aim at the Germans... since there are only like 3 you need 3 or 4 guys to aim. Those guys stayt where they are in the treeline while 1 guy on both sides rush the nest to make sure they are dead.

I would send a small squad on the left flank of the machine gun crawling, while the main men I have are being fired on by the MG. Since you cannot suppress a MG, I would distract the Germans so they think a man is on the far right. Then the left squad finishes the job

i would send 2 men up the main road as bait. they retreat and when german scouts come down to see whats up, they ambush them. then they get under cover att the edges of the road (3-4 americans) while the others flank around the side of the german mg42 (if you have an mg, set that up to suppress the mg42) . then they continue up the road up the hill, using the same tactic of flanking the german postitions if they are too strongly held to take out conventionally. then they continue up and take it.
