Alright, can everybody quit crying about "how much we loved the movie" and try to appreciate Critics efforts in a pretty awesome Hunter S Thompson impression. Personally I never saw the film and can care less about it but even if you liked it thats no reason to dump on this review which is clearly just a vehicle for the Critic to do a Fear and Loathing parody. Hell, the fact he's using a film to parody another film pretty much suggets he doesn't hate it as much as he lets on.
I loved this movie as a kid, but Doctor Screw-Eyes scared the bejesus out of me, and the ending with the crows was intense. I also remember thinking as a kid that the "let no bad happen" line sounded strange and awkward. lol
@Petey0707 careful you fatarse yank, your blood pressure will cause you to explode, or better yet, you may go on a rampage and kill your family and friends...omg on second thought do that! americans dying is hilarious
@DrTheKay Have you ever thought that Nostalgia Critic doesn't know about foreign movies since he IS from America? I mean, why would he even know about them since he lives in America anyway? I bet you don't know many French movies, now do you? Also, it's quite strange seeing someone unable to use uppercase letters and periods. Also, please stop trying to sound mighty by using curse words, it makes you seem even less intelligent then you already are.
I think its disgusting that the NC only lists american tradegies to stop, just foes to show how bigheaded and selfish americans are. america has pearl harbour coming and 9/11 was hilarious, dumbass americans
I'm sorry but generally different countries have their own shit, and most people are affected by their own shit first before worrying about other shit.
If he were indian, I'm sure he would list whatever tragadies pertinant to India. And on down the line with either country or particular group.
I used to watch this movie a lot when I was a kid... but I don't know if it's ever been one of my favorites... Still, it's more watchable than this guy makes it out to be.
Also, why does everyone want to go back and prevent disasters? Haven't we seen enough time travel movies to know that stopping Hitler will cause a greater evil to emerge from the core of space/time?! ...Or at least, WWII will be postponed long enough for the communists to take over, build antimatter weapons, and destroy all.
Hiding in the parade makes bizarre sense (hiding in plain sight, no one would believe dinosaurs so big and colorful are real, etc), but everyone should've realized that they were real the minute Rex started singing and dancing spontaneously. Even DISNEY Audio-Animatronics aren't that good, and they're responsible for the shit-your-pants terrifying Carnotauruses in the Dinosaur ride!
I'd do one better go back in time and ensure the German Empire wins WWI preventing Nazi Germany rising, the Blitz, Invasion of Poland, Pearl Harbor, the formation of the Soviet Union, Korean War, Vietnam, the Iranian Revolution and 9/11 since Saudi Arabia would be under British influence and the Mujahdeen would never have split into Al'Queda and the Taliban since the Soviets would never have invaded Afghanistan.
If I may grab your attention for a bit, I would like you to direct it to ACTA.
It is a bill based on anything but democracy and will ban many internet sites, outlaw generic medicines which are essential to a poor countries and restrict freedom of speech and privacy.

i always loved this movie as a kid, but now i can't help but agree with NC that this movie made no logical sense at all. nevertheless, i still found it very entertaining so i guess the movie did its job :D
I still don't get Louie's pleading monologue. If the T-Rex ate the bad guy, he wouldn't be "just another slob spoiling the way the world could be"; he'd be a predator consuming his prey. Nor was the T-Rex "mad or scared" when he tried to eat the bad guy; well, he was probably pissed (wild animals don't like cages, electric training devices, or being chained), but I'm guessing he was mostly hungry. And the dimensions on the dinosaurs aren't consistent or historically accurate.
I love NC's work, and the commentary had me in stitches, but I always loved this movie as a kid. It was that nonsensical feel-good-but-still-creepy feel to it that I liked so much. Sure the story was backass crazy, it was the outrageous characters that brought this movie to life for me
I was right in the middle of a fucking reptile zoo, and somebody was giving booze to these goddamn things. Won't be long now before they tear us to shreds
Also, who else wants to see him do another Ralph Duke impersanation in his reviews? I never watched anything related to Hunter S. Thompson, and I really liked his impression.
Theres a difference between guilty pleasures and .......just having bad taste. But this fillm isnt the WORST animated film, but yeah it has so many problems.
@metademetra Possibly cause when Neweyes mentioned he was driven mad by the loss of his eye, it is assumed the crows plucked his eye out and feared they would kill him which his fear became true.
Walter Cronkite rocked this fucking movie as Professor Neweyes. He should have done a lot of cartoon voices from 1981 to his death in 2009. A perfect second career for a great journalist. RIP Walter Cronkite.
The sad part is I remember an even worse movie that is just as retarded if not more disturbing from my childhood. Had something to do with an evil owl changing some farm kid into a chipmunk or something and the only one who can stop the owl is a blues singing rooster. My god they made stupid kid movies to slip in subliminal morals in the 90s
So... the kid's giving a giant prehistoric reptilian super-predator a a lame-ass sob lecture on not letting fear or hate rule him when he's acting purely off instinct? And it works?! Plus, all it takes to increase their intelligence level from animal to sentient is a hug when they needed some chemically enhanced cereal the first time?!
I never realised how stupid this movie is... Meh, guilty pleasure.
@ShadowScryer Plus, I was always under the impression that the ravens ate him alive. Could be possible, they're facing away from the camera, but I always thought it was a glass eye hitting the ground for some reason.
I recall the "let nothing bad happen" thing actually turned out really good in the Swedish dub - mostly because it's grammatically correct.
Haven't seen this film in many many years, but I clearly remember not giving a damn about whether there's plot or not. Now I can see why my parents really didn't want to stay and watch through the video.
Compared to most movies I've seen NC review, I disagree with him here. This actually looks well animated, fun to watch and just overall a film that I wouldn't mind showing my kids. Albeit the plot is a bit far- fetched, but when you're a kid you don't care about that stuff. The moral is running away doesn't solve your problems which is true. Most of all, crazy eyes' disappearance reminds me of a MGS3 cobra death. Pure awesome. So I'm going to watch this film and hopefully enjoy it.
@XxD1EAN0TH3RD4YxX I think the point was how disturbing it is, especially for young viewers. I mean, my grandparents own this movie, so I've seen it several times, and while it can be fun to watch, it can really scare kids. This especially could catch people off-guard since both the VHS cover and the movie poster show happy, colorful dinosaurs and not man-eating ravens.
Has anybody noticed that the Critic dislikes a lot of popular films were box office hits and childhood treasures, and likes a lot of films that were poorly received by audiences? Don't get me wrong, I love the Nostalgia Critic, but I honestly have to say; His taste in movies is bad. Him disliking this film and James and the Giant Peach is proof. Not to mention Independence Day. Who doesn't like Independence Day?!
@TeeAiDee That's a very good point, and I respect it. However, consider that what Doug does is to point at movies flaws, many of them in logic (like the dinosaurs don't using violence even in saving his friends or the moral of being always mother's baby). Also, look at the reception of the films he hate, and you will realize they'll be negative too (even in Space Jam). And one thing that makes Doug different to Brain Griffin: he loves Disney movies, and he critizes the disney's hatedom.
@mickeyelric11 Yeah, I guess you're right about that. Everyone has different tastes, after all. And I do love it when he reviews films that I really dislike, like the Langoliers. That was one funny review. I also liked his review of Lost World, that one really made my ribs hurt, especially the one with the raptor and "Hey! You!"
@TeeAiDee Would you like to watch a video? Maybe you're not fan of this cartoon, or of Ricky Martin, but it's so well done, and I'm looking for viewers. Try it, you won't regret it!:
TUFF Puppy: Dudley Puppy "No importa la distancia", Ricky Martin
Or, like everyone, he just has different opinions than others. I know it's hard to believe, but hey, it just might be true. Believe it or not, there is still a great big dislike for some of the popular films as well.
@MultiMaige Hey, if you had read my other comment, you would have seen that I already admitted this. But instead you chose to read only one of my comments and tried to talk down to me. Well, let me talk down to you. Read the entire chain of comments before replying to the very first one, otherwise you make yourself look ridiculous. A little helpful advice for the future.
But, on that note...how was I trying to talk you down? Again, my apologies, I also must have missed that. I was simply noting what I believed what was the obvious. There were no insult throwing or anything of that sort.
@MultiMaige In that case, let me apologize for reacting the way I did. I felt you were talking down to me when you said "Maybe, just maybe" and things like that. I felt as though you were stating the obvious as you would a young child. But, this was all a simple misuderstanding.
This made me laugh so much! F.A.L.I.L.V. man. Anyways, I love this movie, but ya everything that NC says is pretty much right lol. I love this movie tho n hope to remember to show it to my kids. He shud really take that big lipped aligator moment thing off from now on tho. I went back to watch that movie "All Dogs Go To Heaven" and that croc has a purpose, he lives in the sewers and sings. Saves Charlie near the ending of movie and then chases Scarface. And it's a crocadile, not an Aligator.
WHAT THE FUCK!!!? When did Rex learn rrrrrrheumatism!? To those reading this comment if you haven't seen Nostalgia Critic Once upon a forest, go see it and you'll know what I'm talking about.
When I saw this movie my first question was how could Rex not eat that fucking annoying green mosquito. He had it in his mouth so why couldn't the machines let him eat it, HE'S NOT IMPORTANT AT ALL.
Critic, you think this is CREEPY!!? GO see Pinocchio. Little boys turning in donkeys and asses is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYY more creepy than this piece of shit. Although true turning into monkeys is pretty disturbing too.

Just by the review I can see that the movie has some bad parts but it doesn't seem that bad,for a cartoon standard this movie seems decent

I still like this movie though, just like his review of Moulin Rouge said, everyone have their own Guilty Pleasures. :P

@TeeAiDee I totally agree with you except for indipendence day, that movie is really bad

@TheNintendAlex Well, I love it. But I guess not everyone is gonna like a movie just because most other people do.
TeeAiDee 2 months ago
@TeeAiDee That's a very good point, and I respect it. However, consider that what Doug does is to point at movies flaws, many of them in logic (like the dinosaurs don't using violence even in saving his friends or the moral of being always mother's baby). Also, look at the reception of the films he hate, and you will realize they'll be negative too (even in Space Jam). And one thing that makes Doug different to Brain Griffin: he loves Disney movies, and he critizes the disney's hatedom.
mickeyelric11 2 months ago
@mickeyelric11 Yeah, I guess you're right about that. Everyone has different tastes, after all. And I do love it when he reviews films that I really dislike, like the Langoliers. That was one funny review. I also liked his review of Lost World, that one really made my ribs hurt, especially the one with the raptor and "Hey! You!"

@TeeAiDee Would you like to watch a video? Maybe you're not fan of this cartoon, or of Ricky Martin, but it's so well done, and I'm looking for viewers. Try it, you won't regret it!:

"His taste in movies is bad."

@TeeAiDee
My apologies for not noting it.
But, on that note...how was I trying to talk you down? Again, my apologies, I also must have missed that. I was simply noting what I believed what was the obvious. There were no insult throwing or anything of that sort.
MultiMaige 1 month ago

This movie is SOOO NOT REALISTIC. What kind of movies do we make for kids anyway!!? 8(
