Well at least they seem to be on top of clearing the streets. But the power outages are horrendous, from what I'm hearing. Down here in hurricane country, I'm prepared with a generator in the garage that can run the house, but up there, this is just NOT natural. I think the real clincher is that the trees had NOT defoliated yet, and those leaves collected every ounce of it like a platter. A very heavy platter...
@anmoose Exactly. This has happened several times in the past few years, though only sometimes with snow added to the mix. Fortunately we do have a lot of trees in most areas, though it can be a heartbreaker for those with fairly recent construction, whose trees were just beginning to verge on mature. Locally we were pretty lucky, most neighbors got power back midday Sunday. But reports this morning were still citing over 2 mil outages over the Northeast, some expected to last several more days
it was easy making a snowman with that snow...and we had no power for six days.
