I've installed "bum" (boot up manager) to deactivate services on startup. It really speeds up the boot sequence. Who needs a modem manager nowadays? xD Wish it helps
@marcolinoxz Frankly, My win7 doesnt boot much slower. And I dont have any fancy SSDs. And Herp Herp it would boot slower seeing as it has more things packed into it.
Still, you can get much faster on optimised gentoo and self configured cinit (haven't counted it yet but with all my stuff like mysql, awesome WM and arnos iptables firewall) it's bellow 15 seconds from grub to awesome WM on poor laptop. Not that bad huh.
@policebox11 "ubuntu no viruses" not exactly. It's very rare but it does happen. I've seen a virus on ubuntu once. it's didn't cripple the box but it was a virus.
too slow for me

Any boy that has not got an XP machine fast, stable reliable for 24/7 useage is an idiot.
Win7, is a lil' challenging to do so, but who cares.?
Linux users bitch and moan about MS all the time it seems.
Why.? Pay $100 for an OS that works out-a box.?
Oh, too bad. Give up dope for a few days.
