Been there done that. Puked my guts out, but how exciting it was.

Honestly... I have also puked my way across heavy seas on those oldies.. Folla was normally the open seas where I supplied the crabs with nutritious puke from the bottom of my guts. It wasn't fun then, but it's hilarious thinking back at those days...

We were on MS Vesterålen in December 2008, we had quite bad weather (we were stuck in Honningsvåg and couldn't go to Kirkenes because of the storm), and we remember very well when we passed MS Lofoten, the weather/sea was about the same as in your video (not the worst we have experienced on this trip, though). And it's so great that you can hear the ships' horns. Thanks!

I was on MS Finnmarken at the same time

and we were out of schedule north of Tromsø: Sailing to Hammerfest, and then to ALTA and stayed there for two days. Later MS Nordkapp joined us in Alta.

Yesterday I was on MS Trollfjord and I was really the only passanger who didn't got seasick. And I must say that I enjoyed the trip

Jeg kommer aldri til å ta en liten hurtigrute. Men de er pene og har sin sjarm, så de hører til på sjøen. For min del når jeg skal reise så tar jeg helst en stor hurtigrute pga våre værforhold i Norge.

The old costal steamers are brilliant ships. But that was not the worst weather ive seen. Only some old waves from a forgone storm. When the weather is real bad the costal steamer skips the ports in lofoten cuz they are so narrow.

Lofotens deep voice has always been very dear to me.

She's so so beautiful.

I remember, as a child, trying to sleep while practically standing in bed as Ms Lofoten climbed the deep valleys. And the feeling of safety cause the Captain was on the bridge.

This clip certainly trigged those memories.

I am one of those who went down to the harbour just to hear the ships blow...and now that i am abroad, hearing Lofotens deep voice makes me homesick-that ship is in my blood! I even got married onboard there! Thanks for a refreshing clip!

you can hear that the old one has got the deepest voice. I guess this film was recorded from one of the new ships?

It was shot from the Vesteraalen of 1983.

Thank you very much. It's an old clip but I do remember it was difficult to stay upright out on a heaving deck and hold one of those 90's big video cameras at the same time...
