First of all, the song is called I'm Waiting for the Man. You obviously know nothing about music on the second hand. The chord progression is DGDG for I'm Waiting for the Man, Muck Fingers chord progression is ADE for the verses and chorus and the bridge is FmEADBmE. Mucky Fingers doesn't use the same chords, not the same tempo, and it also is much more complex song instrumentally than the other. They aren't the same songs, nor or they a rip off... learn to play music before you critique it.

It's called Progressive Rock because it's a spin off of Psychadellic Rock. It involves many things such as synthesizers and new technological equipment. It doesn't make it instrumentally challenging. Niel Pert is a decent drummer, he just has shitload of drums and is experimental, that's what made him considered great. Dude, it's a common rhythm associated with a lot of rock music. Mucky Fingers sounds nothing like velvet's song. He didn't borrow or rip anything. Get over yourself...
