Depends what you want to do with it? If you need something portable and require mac only programs for your job, or compatibility with your home mac, something hip, then the investment in a MacBook will be justified.

If you are not buying one for job related applications, and money is sparse, the investment will probably be unjustified with the current pricing of the Macbook.
