  • we sang this in my choir. it's so good. it almost made me cry while i was singing it.

  • @BongCammie (According to my beliefs) God doesn't help those who are being mistreated, starving, killed etc. because he's not the one who caused any of it. God doesn't help starving children cuz we can do it. Why would we have him do it? We can all do it as humans but we're to selfish.

  • I always believe that God always listen to our prayers .

  • Im an ATheist, I love this song.. But I agree with that God is ..a bitch ^^' He demanded 7 nations to be annihilated and he thought women should be punished for being raped <-- Not a very nice guy huh? :) But screw it and love the song, peoples :3

  • @LightningStrike56 Hey guess what, if you live your life as the bible says to, you'll have plenty of real friends.

So obviously you're doing something wrong.

  • Please dont bring religion or antheism chat wars into this beautiful songs comments. Lets just agree to disagree and agree this is a bloody good song!!!

  • Jejejej awesome thing: My name is Esmeralda too! :D

  • Jeez! No matter what your religion, it's a good song with a good meaning. I am atheist, but I still love this song. (Even though we are actually the childrean of our PARENTS, not God. If we were childrean of God, wouldn't that make us demigods?!)

  • @Coolgal101100 Demi-Gods are only existant within the Greek mythology. If you were the daughter of a Goddess and mortal man you'd be a demi-God. It's different

  • @Coolgal101100 it's an expression, you know that right? lol.

  • I'm going to sing this when I go to Church

  • Even us athiests like this song. just goes to show, disney used to be so awesome they could write songs about controversial topics and anybody could think it was beautiful. now Disney just kinda stinks and it's depressing.

  • @AlternativeProject3 Now it's all about some stupid teenage girl who has a good life get fucked up and complain about what little is wrong with her life "Oh, I had to do something all by myself for once and it's scarred me and driven me to drugs and running away, waaaaah poor me." They should bring back the old Disney.

  • @BornFreeSoLiveFree That... makes God sound like a bitch. "If you don't believe in me, I forsake thee!!!" ... I thought God was supposed to be better than that.

"God help the outcasts or nobody will" ... looks like the outcasts are on their own, then.

  • 11 people don't want God to help the Outcasts

  • "For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus."

it does not say that everyone is a child of God, only those with faith in Jesus are.

@NeonCalamity and if you guys want to know why God "doesn't help the outcasts" you can look at NeonCalamity's comment and figure it out.

The "outcasts" don't believe in God. Problem solved.

  • @BornFreeSoLiveFree I believe in God. I'm an outcast. There are so many outcasts worse off than me. They believe in God. Therefore, your comment is stupid, shallow and generalising.

  • See! She's thinking of others! Why can't people be more like Esmeralda!

  • Did u know Esmarelda is the only disney caracter to sing a holy song?

  • They should play this on red nose day and children in need

  • 11 people dont have pure hearts

  • This song came at a convenient time for me. I had recently been worrying about my own problems and things I don't have, and then I heard this song and it reminded me that there are others who are "less lucky than I." The part where she sings, "I ask for nothing" inspired me so much. I actually thought, "How can she ask for nothing at all? I wish I could be that selfless." I realize how blessed I really am, and my problems seem insignificant when I listen to this song. It makes me feel lighter.

  • i love this song ever since i herd it on disney movie the hunchback

  • Comment removed

  • Disney then: I ask for nothing, I can get by. But i know so many less lucky than I...

Disney now: Noddin my head like yeah! Movin my hips, like yeah!

    -.-

  • @mugtisersold I know, I miss the old Disney >.>

  • @mugtisersold RIP 90s. We will forever miss you!

  • I'm not a Christian, but this song gives me chills, and it is DAYUM beautiful! <3 :)

  • I don't believe in God, but this song is damn beautiful. <3

  • im not christian and i do enjoy the gypsy traditions. know whow it is to bean outcast but this is my fave song :)

  • @SupaahLuluLee- God bless your golden heart. *hugs for my fellow Christian*

  • This song really reminds me of my own life. when im in school, at home, or in a public place, i always feel like im an outcast because no matter where i go, people always give me dirty looks and talk about me behind my back just because im "plus size", and to top it off, im the one who boys "ask out" then trash my rep. and my family wonders why i always have my nose in a book and never do anything or talk to anyone.

  • @57zutara hey hang in there... don't be bitter okay? i had my share of insults in my life too but I took it all as a challenge, I always think that my situation could have been worse, I am just thankful that I have no disabilities. I know happiness don't come easy for people like us who are considered different but you must find happiness from within, if you don't give it to yourself then no one else will.

  • @LettersFromBadEra13 i am usually not that bitter and i try not to let it get to me, but some days... well, lets just say, ive had my share of verbal spats with people who knows better but doesnt really care either way who they hurt or why.yes, my situation could be worse, but that doesnt mean that it hurts less. or that i should have to put up with it from people who are just plain mean and hateful. but i try. i usually try to ignore it, but yesterday was pretty bad.

  • @57zutara i understand, there really are days that hurt really bad...there are times that I thought that I was over the pain of discrimination but it haunts me from time to time but I always try to stand up each time they try to put me down. I hope that the day will come when people won't judge one another with what their eyes perceive.

  • @57zutara Breathe. That's all you can do. Bullies clearly can't see how beautiful you are, or how smart. They call you names because they don't understande you. I'm the same, except I'm not a plus size. I'm an average girl, average looks, average everything. But I use it to my advantage. I have my friends who are always there for me. Everyone always has someone, whether they believe it or not. You might have no one at school, but now you've got me. Smile, and just breathe.

  • @Bethii1995x Thanks a lot. at least now i know that not all hope is lost. my life has, quite frankly been hell. what i usually do is turn to animals for comfort. especially my dogs. and what they say is true, animals cant hurt you, people can. psychologically, i mean. and quite frankly, ive found that its usually better to be alone, that way no one can hurt you.

  • @57zutara what if it eats you? My cats bite me all the time but I still catch myself talking to them about problems too. Sometimes, it is better to be alone. It just means that people can't find out anything about you and use it against you. I know how this feels, my best friend in the world goes through this day in, day out and I love her with all my heart. But taking those little risks is what life is all about. A song might be your life now, but you can change it for the future xxx

  • @57zutara I know what you mean...I'm an outcast too.I always have my nose in a book. Still don't lose hope if your a Christian or something like that than keep praying

  • you know I love this song but I hate to comment on it because people get into deep debates on the song. GO CATHOLICS!!! >:D okay i'm commenting....NOW

  • wow real lyrics in DISNEY! wish it was like this today.

  • AMEN!!!!!!!!

  • love this song

  • This is one of the best Disney songs ever, mostly because it shows that being self won't help you but caring for others will. One of the 7 deadly sins happens to be greed so Esmeralda is pretty much showing how great of a person she is. So with that said GREAT WORK I LOVE THIS SONG SOOOOO MUCH!!! :3

  • God does hear everyone. If this were real life her prayer would mean more to God than all of those who asked for fame and wealth.

  • I often listen to the Multilanguage version of this song. It's nice to know what the people are singing again. No matter how many times I hear it, I still don't know Danish =w=;;

On another note, I'm one of man atheist/agnostics who loves this song. Its meaning transcends the religion it speaks about, and t's simply beautiful.

  • I'm ateist, but thi song is the most beatiful song I've ever heard!

  • I feel bad for God like I do all imaginary creatures.

Seriously; just because of the title, you assume this is a Christian song. Open your minds a little and you'll find it is so much more than that!

  • @piperrox13 I'm not religious, but I think that 'God' for the most part is more or less a metephrical statement.

  • @himurakenshinfan19 God is real.

  • @piperrox13 well she is in THE notre Dame

lol but i see your point and agrre with ur message

  • @UnexplainableIdiot Yeah, but there are over 50 "Notre Dame"'s in the world. :)

  • @piperrox13 lolyeah but shes at THE notre dame haha

  • @UnexplainableIdiot I know that was the original. I went there two years ago and possibly this year too. The rose window is beautiful. :)

  • won't load : (

  • I always cry during this song cuz I can see many people like me that rely on themselves to live but secretely want more

  • I think this song is the most beautiful among the Disney's.

  • this song gets me everytime.

  • 0:55 to go staight to the vocals

  • This is such a beautiful song. LOVE IT!! ^_^

  • can we all just enjoy the song, please?

  • God Bless you all just 'cause you deserve it. We are all the children of God, don't let anyone make you think otherwise.

  • This song makes me tear up....Disney had it's prime, and these movies were it, now there is just suckish movies that make me barf. What happened to the good Disney?

  • @Gracyia23 Consumerism... And all of the good writers either died or left.

  • This is my theme song. I want everyone to be equal in everyone's eyes, I want people to be kinder to the outcasts, I'm a bit of an outcast too, and I want everyone to be loved, even the outcasts. I was told once I am like Esmeralda, and it was the best thing anyone told me.

  • I'm bi but prefer girls (I am also a girl) I sang this in my school's fundraiser and people were crying ;) it was great, I love myself.

  • @thewizofseus101 That is awesome.

  • I never realized how much I'm like Esmerelda until I rewatched this movie, I'm very much for civil rights, all races, religions and sexual orientations, and I don't sit back and watch injustice happen. We are one.

  • did the clock strike midnight for Disney magic?! seriously, its bad enough we have to experience teen drama in real life, but on tv too?? Walt probally turned in his grave already. what happened to the Disney with meaning? i remember being inspired by characters like Mulan, pocahontas, and jasmine to follow your heart. they were real role models. not a good brat gone drugged-up-bad. God, please bring Walt back. why cant you bring him back!!!!?

  • What happened to the days when we had Esmerelda or the Goddeses from Hercules with us? I miss those days...

  • Comment removed

  • i miss my gypsy family. i love them so much, my other part of family who are middle eastern always talk shit about them. even if my family is poor, i will always love them. even if my family talks shit, i will always love them.

  • Comment removed

  • this actually has a good point. People Jesus as this amazing Savior that we worship and hold above all others, and praise. But he was an outcast too. He struggled, He was bullied, He had to work day in and out too. He went through some of the things we go through too, everyday.

  • I love this song, even though I'm an atheist, like I love all disney songs and movies. They just don't make 'em like this anymore.

  • I feel bad for God.. Because we all want the things His hands do and not Him alone.. But for Him, all He wants is us and us alone. ): and idk about everyone else, but my "religion" isn't a religion. Christianity is a relationship with my God.

  • @SupaahLuluLee i agree. too many people claim that they are good christians and do all sorts of things "in the name of God" when in fact they are just helping themselves. people need to understand, that we dont need a "religion." we need a relationship with God.

    i love this song <3

  • @SupaahLuluLee God bless you :)

  • @SupaahLuluLee amen! I agree all the way!

  • @SupaahLuluLee yes most deffinately God bless you :)

  • @SupaahLuluLee: Whatever you say, kiddo.

  • @SupaahLuluLee You, my friend, is a beautiful creature.

  • @SupaahLuluLee I agree in so many ways then one :' )

  • @SupaahLuluLee The Muslims and the Hindus would say the same, sweetheart.

  • @sweetlolitacookies i dont think so... because they dont believe in the same love from God as we do. DONT say anything when you dont even know.

  • @SupaahLuluLee Hmmm that's an extremely ignorant thing to say... A muslim or Buddhist could feel the same amount of love from their God as you do from yours...You're the one talking about things you have no idea about..Just saying.

  • @sweetlolitacookies i mean, you cant really say that unless you've experienced. its an amazing love.. believe me, or not, its really not the same. His love is more than you could ever know. I'm sorry for being ignorant. I just get really mad when people think my God is the same as any other religions' God(s), and without knowing anything, i just rant, rant, rant.

  • @SupaahLuluLee Haha well I've been a Christian before so I do know what it "feels like" but you have to realize that your idea of God is simply no better than anybody else's idea of God. If you say that you "know" God you are lying to yourself wether you admit it or not. Nobody on this planet knows who God is or if he/she even exists. But of course you're entitled to your opinion I'm just letting you know that it's VERY close minded one.

  • @SupaahLuluLee yes, you do, sweetheart. just listen to da song, say it's beautiful, move on. don't mention God, or any other religiousness because people get so darn flared up...sheesh...those peeps are so annoying

  • god help the viewers enjoy this song and stop fighting

  • I highly recomend people look up the song Ave Maria Paien from the french musical Notre Dame de Paris. its an amazing musical that puts a little bit more meat to the story than the disneyfied version. :)

  • her voice is beautiful i wish i could sing like her

  • CAN WE ALL SHUT THE HELL UP TALKING ABOUT RELIGION AND ENJOY THE DAMN MUSIC!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i wanna pray everynight that in the furture all this madness will end
  • @prettygirl67826 I'll Join You....

  • @bobfari :)

  • i

    love

    this

    beatuiful

  • My friend and I are working on a Disney tribute. It's this kind of Disney. Not the kind of disney were all the girls get pregnant and drugged up(thats not on Disney but still)If ya'll want I'll put it on youtube. If I get atleast 2 votes for this comment I will post it on youtube. It won't be for a few weeks though. If you like this then you will love our tribute:)

  • @heyyguys08 Don't apologize for who you are, miss. Who you are never needs to be forgiven.

  • Stuff like this is why I hate all this political correctness that idiots have come up with nowadays. Disney wouldn't have the balls to make a movie like this again :/ I grew up inspired these gutsy women like Esmerelda, influenced by these religiously, historically based movies, and loved them ♥ So I'm saving them for my kids in the future.

  • im definitly making my kids grow up with these beautiful disney movies <3

  • So...this song hits me hard. I'm a girl, who is a lesbian..and this song reminds me of the torment I get from the gay-haters in the world. I ask God to forgive me everyday for who I am..and I believe he does forgive me..I may have done some bad things in my life so far, but We are ALL children of God..Im not preaching...im just stating that God will not discriminate like these people on Earth...God Bless Everyone. This song is amazing and beautiful. Great movie too :))

  • @heyyguys08 Don't say it right here, but say it to God. <3

  • six thumbs up or more and i'll sing this at m school talent show

  • ahh, i get so many shivers from this song, so beautiful. :) Such a beautiful message, love old disney. :)

  • Frollo made 9 accounts to dislike this.

  • I put this song on someone's wall. They commented by putting Westboro Baptist Church's version of "We Are the World," called "We Hate the World." -_- I don't want to live on this planet anymore.

  • @Eyulfable i agree, I don't want to share a planet with those bigots either. why would anyone post that crap?

  • @Themasterbrain2 I believe this guy had married into whatever cult he's in. The WBC, on the other hand, are all brainwashed by Fred Phelps. I've had a couple brush-ins with them before, and as a gay guy who can debate religion, I can say that I had fun messing with them. The entire school was holding up signs about how awesome gays are. When they tried to come to our university after a death, we set up a collection booth right across from them. we then sent them thank you cards.

  • @MissLazyBoi You can set it so you can screen comments or disable comments on your own videos, but most people don't.

  • I was devistated i accidently clicked dislike. I love this song :O x

  • Hearing this, I can't help but find myself wishing I was at least -slightly- religious. Nonetheless, I'm not, and that's unlikely to change despite even the best efforts of this entrancing song.

And yes, I know, it's hard to tell online, but no, this is not sarcasm.

  • @AustralianFalcon

It's never too late to start

  • @AustralianFalcon If you don't wanna be religious then don't. It's not about that, you know, if by it you mean doing what priests or so, say. It's about being good to everyone, being unselfish, caring, not racist,etc.. THAT'S what we're suppoused to do, that's what most religions in the world are about, not only christianism or catholicism. It is about moral, a conclusion every wise people in the world's history has agreed with. So just be a good person as best as you can, and you'll be alright.

  • @KEdoChanElricH

The only reason I'd listen to what a priest has to say is if he himself has an opinion worth hearing. It really doesn't matter which gospel a person preaches; we're all just people, in the end, and no religion - or lack thereof - will make any one of us perfect. It won't give a person's values more or less weight. I wholly agree with your opinion on that. It's one I hold very near and dear myself; morality is its own virtue.

Still, good to hear you say it too.

  • I love this song soo much, and the 8 ppl who dont like this song are retarded!!

  • I'm tempted to sing this at school for the upcoming talent show...

    So many of the "popular" kids put others down, look down on them, see them as freaks/outcasts/weirdos/etc. It's a shame really. Can't they all just learn to live with each other? SMH. u_u;;

Actually, this song reminds me of the book, The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton for some reason.

  • @DarkRY1211 That was a good book. Movie wasn't bad neither.

  • 8 people are outcasts who refuse help from God

  • Christians are in theory meant to be tolerant, sadly, in practice we don't seem to be. But seriously, this is a song and isn't meant to spark off religious debates. Enjoy the words and melody and relive your childhood.

  • *Looks at the comments* I think YouTube would be better without comments. Or a kind of filter, or maybe even that the person who did the video could screen them. Because all that is ridiculous. It's a song. Debate with your friends, on forums, but don't debate on a video a little child could be watching. I'm sure no one under 10 needs to see anything about murders, religious corruption, or any of the like when they click on a Disney video of all things. I know I don't.

  • I'm not religious at all but this song is so touching, I love it.

  • Thank you to my Sisters and brothers off the craft as well. Like the video I only ask the Goddess for our people to be helped. We have lived in fear for too long. My father is a High priest and his church was unrecognized several months ago due to an 'anonomous donation' in exchange for 'preserving our culture'. We are here, we are powerful but we must not let our voices be drowned out by those who feared us so much as to hunt us. We must stand for our rights. So Mote It Be!

  • Thank you Mara, may my grandfather Fafnir, bless your life and may the Goddess and her Consort bless you as well.

  • Some people need to remember how they would have looked at this song as a child. As a song, not a religious debate.

  • When I was a kid, I waited with bated breath for each new Disney movie to come out. I still have the whole collection, and disconnected cable when my son was born. Now he gets them "released" to him (from my closet). It's fantastic.

  • @TheKitasaurus That's an amazing idea! When I have kids I'll be bringing them up on this Disney as well - true Disney. :)

  • This is probably the most purest prayer I ever heard. God won't consider her an outcast in Heaven but one of his faithful servants.

  • is it just me or are all the good comments on these videos?

  • @bregsimo1234 I couldnt agree more. People could easily complain about their belief (or disbelief) in God on this video but they dont. We all love the song because its so moving. Personally i have trouble believeing in God...but this song helps me believe. I think its beautiful and the lyrics apply to then and years to come. Disney gets all the good stuff.<3

  • I remember crying with Widow Tweed when she had to leave Todd behind, I remember swimming in the ocean and loseing my voice with Ariel, I remember Singing with every princess, I remember fighing side by side with Mulan and danceing with Cinderella, I remember running through the woods for all I was worth to save John Smith, I remember having the kindest, best friends I ever was to have on a TV screen. Not like now, now it's all teen drama about a girl who has a good life get drugged up.

  • @gothicchik52 It's amazing how only 29 people like this post. Well, 30, I clicked it too.

  • @BertieSquared Thank you my friend. *hugs*

  • I love my Theatre family so much. We're all outcasts. But we all manage to get by.

  • I can't help but cry when i sing this, because i know so many less lucky than I, i seriously do, in that movie, it depended on your religion and looks... today it's still looks, but its also their mental status, i am a big advocate for finding the cure for autism, so this song reminds me of my sisters, who have autism, and were bullied relentlesly. they couldn't help their actions, and people targeted them. this song.... i can't find any better that tells my emotions.

  • Seriously? People shut up, and listen to what Esmeralda is saying: That even if she's considered a "sinner" she asks God to do her a unselfish favor: To help the people who are outcasts and give them strength, and love, that they deserve. I'd like to enjoy a beautiful song with such meaning to me, since I, too, am a outcast. I have lots of learning disorders that make me seem stupid. Thank god their not physical but I'm failing all of my classes and I get called stupid and lazy when I'm smart.

  • @tacosaresparkly you are a good person :)

  • @kitkatkid09 Thank you. I know I am, but people still treat me like an outcast.People are so cruel -.-"

  • @tacosaresparkly hey if you know your smart then heres what you have to think about the ones calling you stupid or lazy:idiots, jealous, stupids,no future,no brain, ect in other words just ignore them trust me theyre the ones who have no brain

  • Wow so much conflict over a simple Disney song...

  • Would it really be so hard to see the world through anothers eyes?

  • All I am trying to say is the commandments of your people say "Love thy neighbors as thyself", but why is it so many look at my people when we, individually and, sometimes as a group, haven't caused you any harm. People spout lies among us and we have no voice in the matter. Why aren't we shown the same courtesy of those who claim to be one of your faith in church, go home and blow it off? Think about it.

  • I never said that I supported abortion, firstly, and secondly read up on history. Throughout history there have been mass genocides in "the name of god". Thirdly, our ways promote life in all forms. Throughout history we have had bad people in our ranks as well, but we are attacked as a whole instead of the instigator. We have suffered more than any other faith could imagine. As I said before, I was once like you. Then I woke up and realized that I was beingled blindly... like a dog on a leash.

  • Listen, Draconova 101. It's not Christianity that killed your friend. It was bad people, and maybe herself as a bad person. I Christanity is so bad and causes so many deaths, then why do WE CHRISTIANS try to put a stop to abortion? Did you ever wonder that? People are so quick to blame a Christian for killing when all we try to do is just help people to find eternal life through Jesus Christ. Killing an unborn baby is just as much murder as killing a 40-year old man in cold blood.

  • @airwoman232 How 'bout shutting the hell up and reading everything? She wasn't trying bash Christianity at all! And attacking her makes you a hypocrite.

'YOU CHRISTIANS', y'know, the ones who just attend church and don't read the Bible, or study real-life history, make me sick. I HATE how oblivious you are (because you're obviously one of those people). You don't want to think for yourself, and you certainly don't plan on doing so anytime soon. So, STFU or GFO.

  • ok, Draconova, you are wacked and really weird. You really need to be saved, and I hope that one day you are. You are so creepy, and I wish you would just shutup and stop posting such stupid stuff.

  • @airwoman232 Alright, I'm a christian and I'm telling you to, please, shut your mouth. You sound so rude and mean.

  • wow Draconova101, you sure do have a lot to say! maybe try being quiet, that would help:)

  • @airwoman232 Maybe you should follow your own advice you ignorant twat, people like you are the reason I denounced Christianity

  • @AriesGoddess93 Why denounce? why not bring it glory through your actions? If every tru Christian(as in acts with love and w/out judging towards *everyone* like they're *supposed* to) denounces then the whole group'll be made up of ugly-on-the-inside biggots. There are some in every group of poeple, but the good ones shouldn't quit because of it.

Hypocrites made me want to quit too. Then i thought...would God quit?

  • @AriesGoddess93 Don't let poeple get you down...you'll get stuck with them (AAAHHHH now that's hell *shudder*) ;)

  • @iTyncWithReality Very well thought out comment I have to say! ^^

I'll say I envy your conviction, and I'm happy there are Christians who believe in what the religion REALLY stands for.

  • To those who have not done anything, I apologise for my harsh message and did not mean to hurt.

To those who did crimes related to the topic: Go to the Abyss, and I pity you for being so pathetic towards your fellow humans.

  • was a crucifix of the head of the church nearby and his fingerprints, still no arrests! I say this now, to quote the Bible "Let my people go!!!!!!" leave us be and learn to look at allsides of the conflict before choosing a side!

  • be portrayed as evil creul people who worship a demon. Very few do, but if they judge us on this evidence alone, let's look at the history of the world and everything that was done "In the name of God". Christianity has done more genocide and pain than they try to bring into the world, and I will not stand for it. My friend in CA, three years ago was found hanged upside down on a wall nailed in her wrists, ankles and throat and had a pentagram painted over her IN HER OWN BLOOD! The only evidence

  • believer, but I once asked for one tyhing from their 'god'; the chance to leave my abusive mother and live with my father who lived 2h away. For seven years I prayed to be taken away from pain, physical, mental, social even, and nothing happened. A year after I had left I finally got my wish from the Goddess and lived with my father. Numerous people who are christians, even today, are as vain as the people in the video. I feel like this female protagonist in sayong that I won't have my people-

  • I know many people will not want to hear what I have to say, but I must lest people do not see all of that song's meaning. I am one of the last few practitioners of the Craft; a faith existant before christianity ever had a foothol. I was an outcast just like the girl in the song, people hated me for being different and have persecuted my people for listening only to the Cross-side of the story of my people instead of looking at the three sides of the pyramid. I was once a christian and a solid-

  • @Draconova101 Hey Draconova, you practice Paganism, right? If so, then to what you said, So Mote It Be. I hope with all my being that the God and Goddess, along with who you worship, bless you.

  • this is one of the most heart-warming disney songs in history... i simply love it, its so amazing and wonderful, its describes so many things! my 3rd fav disney song
