ok, so this is a DIFFERENT musashi, yet is a prequel? How does it even matter if it's a prequel, but with a different setting, and different characters?
See that's the thing- I looked the game up on wiki, and I didn't see anything about this being a "prequel".
Personally, I think they should've used THE SAME MUSASHI. I liked the fellah from the 1st one. He was a small kid who was sarcastic, but a good person with tons of personality.
I know that in BF Musashi, they said that there was a "musashi" of legend that appeared long ago, so is the musashi of SL Musashi that hero?
yeah i agree, i liked how he had an attitude. supposedly it IS supposed to be this musashi that jon was talking about, the only thing that sucks is that in the game they don't give alot of info on him...
Ok, so let's say that Samurai legend musashi is the "musashi of legend" from brave fencer musashi...... it's not even the same world...
I just wish that there was more info on him, like tell about his past and his history. But honestly, I think that Brave fencer musashi is a bit more compelling.
I really REALLY hope they continue the musashi series, and turn it into a franchise. It doesn't even have to be as big as the FF series, but I'd just like to see more musashi titles. I love em.
"Musashi: A young fencer summoned by Fillet to save Allucaneet Kingdom. He has a short temper and is generally impatient, yet will go to great lengths to help others. He must finish his quest before the binchotite runs out of energy, which will kill him. Although Fillet supposedly summoned the same Musashi which saved Allucaneet in the distant past, it seemed apparent that this adventure occurred when Musashi was older."
yeah, i was disappointed when they took out the humor and the fun that was in BFM. i kinda wish they would have brought back the voice of mona marshall to do the voice of the other musashi. her voice acting was top notch in the first game
Are you psychic? You took the words right out of my mouth.
In my previous comment, i found that wiki says "it seemed apparent that this adventure occurred when Musashi was older"
I'm not sure what they mean. I think it means that when Fillet summoned him, he was younger, but the hero of legend is an older musashi. If that's the case, then Samurai legend would be an older musashi, but in a time line that predates Brave fencer musashi.
i don't think they got a good lead on the official story, hence the wiki.... then again it's probably best to go to the official square website and email the staff of the american company and ask them about the connection between the two games. often times i wonder why they didn't bring back certain things that made BFM musashi so good. one big disappointment is that they didn't bring back the original composer, tsuyoshi sekito to do the music for the new game. i missed his captivating orchestra
Eh, sounds like a good idea, but I can't be assed to go through with that. I AM genuinely curious though. I might check it out.
No kidding. Have you heard the track "the musashi legend"? It's my favorite track from the whole game. (there's another one from the ruins beneath the restaurant that plays in the area where you get the power from the bowling monsters. That's my second favorite track.)
Well, I sure hope they release another game someday, and hopefully soon! Even though I wasn't thoroughly happy with how samurai legend turned out, I still had fun playing it. If they come out with another, I hope they have the same kind of animation style as number 2, but with a plot line like the first, and characters like the first. They could blend the fighting styles of both for the battles, but I really hope the make his hair more conservative (after SLM)
i'm actually writing an article on BFM on a website that i'm part of. sort of like a summary AND a review. but yeah i agree with you on seeing a third game. i wouldn't want to see a remake though, because the original should be untouched. and yes, they should really fix the hair for the new musashi. i hated how it curled all around the place if you made him just stand in place
To be perfectly honest with you, the hair DID NOT bother me, but I brought it up because a lot of other fans seemed to really be irked by it. I think gamers nowadays are too finicky, though I can see how it may be annoying. One thing they should change (because it made NO sense) is whenever he picks someone up, and uses them as a weapon... there's... how can... ugh, I can't defend that at all...
...
...
but it IS funny! "I'll protect you, maiden!" Then he just throws her at an enemy... :D
Yeah, that's the weirdest thing about the game. That's more abusive than the enemies would be! hell, the enemies are just going to abduct them, not really kill them. When you use them to attack enemies, you'd think that it'd cause damage to them, wouldn't you? Not to mention, it does MORE damage than a normal sword strike... Apparently musashi should just forget about using a katana- girls are the best weapons!!
haha oh yeah. i can imagine picking up my fiancee during the most random moment and beating up some dude at a baseball game haha. yeah it was odd how the girls had slightly more strength than the katana. what's even more odd, fusion isn't even LABELED a katana in BFM, just some glowing blue sword, but oh well
Heh heh. "come here honey... that bastard needs a beating, and you're gonna help me!"
Well, I don't know why they didn't call it a "katana." Maybe they didn't want to ruin the "ambiance" of the medieval hamlet style of BFM. But then again, you ARE a SAMURAI, so it really shouldn't make a difference.
ami tambien me costo esa wea del principio no sabia como pero despues con eso pff teni caleta de tecnicas

did this game's plot happened before or after the first game?
PingGuerrero 2 years ago
this game is no where near as good as the first one. I don't know if this is a true sequel or not.

It's a Prequel! Shows what you know about the game. -_-

Don't get smart. I'm only telling it like it is. If the game is terrible, then I say it's terrible.

Why do you say it's a prequel? Musashi is older in this game.
herofromthedark 2 years ago
it's not the same musashi. this game is of a different timeline

that even confuses me, but that's what it is according to wikipedia and square. i still don't know how the lumina sword came around...

According to wikipedia
"Musashi: A young fencer summoned by Fillet to save Allucaneet Kingdom. He has a short temper and is generally impatient, yet will go to great lengths to help others. The wording one the last line is a little vague.

LOL get this, when i got your reply message from my email i got an advertisement on the side of the page saying "samurai kimono for sale"
yeah, picking up girls lol. you can lift them up in the air and attack with your sword too ya know

haha yeah. after seeing chocobo racing on psx you'd at least expect to see musashi as an unlockable character. oh well

What about chocobo racing? Why would you see musashi as an unlockable character?
PS, I think we should continue this in PMs, cuz we're starting to clog up the comment boxes... :D
