As for other songs, Japan has a lot of cultural ties with America (and the same with France i hear, but i dont really know). They have a thing for the playboy bunny emblem for example. In anycase, if it sounds good it sounds good.

Thanks for explication. But I'm kinda surprised. I've heard "Kawaii ne" i.e. in Japanese dramas being said by people of different genders or ages. And this is why I haven't thought of checking specific circumstances about this phrase before.

Maybe it's a cliche but I don't believe that the Japanese themselves don't use this at all... It seemed to me that word "kawaii" is very popular there...

English speaking families tend to have English speaking children, but most people in Japan cannot pronounce English or string a sentence together in English. It's not a slur against their character or their intelligence though.
