Yes, but my server has been down for months. I have been building very modest (by comparison) sea bases on a friend's server.

I seem to have helped talk Pchan3 into making submersibles. Soon, my subsea colony will bustle with traffic. Mini subs will cruise over the city like flying cars, docking with sub pods at various heights, carrying colonists and valuable minerals. :3

For the iron and glowstone, sort of. We edited vast deposits of both into the trench floor. We still had to mine it that way (and it created an incentive for people to learn to live and work undersea) but it made them plentiful enough that this project was possible. Otherwise there simply wouldn't have been enough iron, and although it's coming soon, back then nether wasn't accessible in SMP.

If you are who I think you are, you are the man who made me really interested in buying Minecraft. I remember your first posts of Brotopia on /v/ last summer when Minecraft was really booming on there. The entire design and feel of the domes made me actually follow the glut of MC Generals that were going on, and you'd post an update once in a while, and it'd be good. Hell, your design was so awesome that my first MC project was an undersea dome. Great work, bro.

I would suggest running 2 servers at the same time, 1 as a public (still whitelist) pvp mobs on, no griefing server, the other is the server you and your trusted buddies build on.

i love your videos :) but how do you get rid of the water when you build your glass section? and also did you plan out each part?

Filled each module with wool or wood as I built it. Then when it was done, I burned out the filler material from inside, which leaves behind air. And yes, I planned each building before making it, as there was limited space and I wanted each module to serve a purpose and look good.

Why? Water only spreads for 7 spaces. The leak would be localized, and wouldn't fill up the colony in the way you're probably imagining.

It is a multiplayer server, just a private one. I opened it up several times over the past few months to people who messaged me promising they hated griefers and wanted to help. Every time I opened it up to non-trusted members, griefing occurred. The people I let in insisted it wasn't them of course. You can't win with pubbies, so I don't allow them in anymore.

I cant believe you know when you said before that you had fully built the glass without spawning any new blocks, you have a stack of 36 lava at 6:57 and a stack of 53 glowstone blocks. So how can i believe that you haven't spawned any other items?

I can't get glowstone in SMP legitimately because the Nether doesn't work yet, and I've been trying to use lava to kill otherwise unkillable slimes (doesn't work). I never said I don't dupe blocks, just that I built the shallow water colony before I knew how to. Obviously the deep sea outpost uses duped steel, because it's impossible to get this much normally, but we do make use of huge stockpiles of glass created legitimately at our sand mine/glass forge seen in an older video.

Check out the "Envirodomes" video. They are part of the main shallow water colony.
