Ok, First of all. Music is for ENTERTAINMENT!!! Being swayed by the public is good if it makes more people entertained. I think many people lose sight of that when they criticize musicians. Ben Gibbard has changed his style over time and guess what? MORE PEOPLE LIKE HIM NOW!
Stop bashing Ben Gibbard, you guys need to take a chill pill. He does not lack talent at all. You're just acting like people who enjoy their loving of more obscure music talents. Just because Death Cab is popular doesn't mean they're not amazingly talented. So shuuuuut up. This is an amazing video. If you didn't know it was Ben Gibbard, you wouldn't have minded.
David Bazan > Johnathan Rice > Everyone Else > Ben Gibbard (Fame hogging bastard). I love this version, such a weird blend of musicians, but none-the-less anything David Bazan touches is gold.
hah fuck you "warriorprince1010" the audio is so shitty, and you probably weren't even there to see it, that one of them could've been weeping the entire song and you wouldn't have known. would you like it then? or are you the only person who is allowed to like radiohead?

Horrible singing, no emotion or feeling. Singing this song like a normal song does not work. Bascially if you have never felt loss or are unable to extract emotion then leave Radiohead alone. Do covers of the jonas brothers they are un human.
I hate that this happened, and I wasn't around to see it. If this happened at a show where Ben also had Jenny Lewis join him, and I was there... I'd probably kill myself after the show.
Well im not sure why everyone is abusing this version so much. Obviously it was never gonna come close to being as good as the original. But as a cover i thought it was amazing. its so hard to harmonize as well as Ben is doing and i loved it.
It would be pretty sweet if the idiots in the crowd just shut up while they were actually playing. cheering should be for AFTER the song in small venues (or any, really). If you just wanted to hear yourself screaming, why would you go to the concert in the first place?
anyway. These guys are great. I just wish this video had less "surround sound"...

You're a fool. When I went to see Gibbard, Bazan was all but booed of stage. I mean he's alright but I'd say he's lucky to be on the same stage as Gibbard.
eh seriously? i love death cab but in all honesty there music has become so insincere and commercial driven lately .bazan is in my oppinion one of the best out .if bazan truely was nearly booed off i would have hated to be in a crowd so full of Indie materialistic sheep :)
@clashcityrocker9 agreed. Gibbard gets on my nerves, he's like a leech to the popular opinion. I know I'm going to get reamed for this, but it's pretty true. Bazan is the man though
All of you fuckers need to go out and buy a copy of "OK X". Its OK Computer covered by different and usually brilliant artists. This is my favorite song off of it. And if you think this is good, your fucking faces are going to melt off when you hear the studio version.. No Ben Gibbard though, just David.
i have to agree with you. Not that these guys are bad musicians but Radiohead songs are like Beatles songs. They shouldnt be touched they are already perfection.
It just doesn't sound all that great to me. In fact, I think it sounds downright BAD. It's my opinion, though. If you like it, that's all that matters. :P
Bazan plays "Let Down" like that for a reason. The whole point of the song (and OK Computer in general) is how disconnected and disenfranchised people have become. Listen to the song's lyrics for crying out loud. "The emptiest of feelings...disappointed people clinging on to bottles...and when it comes it's so so disappointing." Mr. Bazan knows he can't improve upon Radiohead, so instead he tries to stay true to the song's meaning by stripping it down, both instrumentally and emotionally.

I care more about the way words and melody sound in a song, not about the overall meaning. I'm not one of those people who try and cut apart songs to figure out the "true meaning" behind them, therefore I could care less. To me, this is a pathetic rendition of Radiohead's version of the song.
DAMNIT he just came ot denver today and tomorrow hell be in TUCSON AAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!!! Dude it's Ben! ANd David! WHOA!!! the should colaborate!!! Pure Genious!!!W!@!@! QDAS

prefer deep thought to songs that are 90 percent about girls
and break ups,he comes of as kind of a creeper
as david as a philosopher even.
