I think what makes King's stories great is the exotic characters he dreams up. He has a way of glamorizing the ordinary, and inserting traits that are shared by us all, allowing the audience to connect almost in a spiritual way with his creation. He does this effortlessly, as if he was a psychologist in a thousand previous lifetimes.
Am I the only one who finds Trash's song really catchy?? They should release it as a single so my friends will stop looking at me like I've gone mad every time I sing it :-)
What is that great guitar instrumental that we hear when Stu and his "Ka-tet" were moving down that mountain hill? (right before Stu breaks his leg) -- I know a bunch of people are wondering the same!
@jyras4747 It's called "One will fall by the wayside" by "Snuffy" Walden - best song in the movie. someone put it up here: watch?v=cEuAVP44EG0#t=1m50s
I remember reading Stu's fall and feeling sad after Stephen King wrote, "And, they never saw Stu Redman again." The pit of my stomach dropped because you knew someone was going to die.....Unfortunately, the miniseries did not capture that feeling.
J. Albert Prufrock... another clever TS Eliot reference, look at the graffiti, "This is the way the world ends" (The Wasteland) see Ed Harris in the early episodes "not with a bang but a whimper" note to English 101 students
Because he forgot to thank God for helping him to get to the top. Always thank God for helping you with your accomplishments. It wasn't you alone. God Bless
I would hope he looks like John Landis, because it is. It's amazing all of the cameos they got for this. Kathy Bates, Landis, Raimi, King, Ed Harris (though his was more of an extended cameo). That's all the ones I can think of off the top of my head, but I'm sure there are more.
but then again, come to think of it, its not the going down, but the going up thats the downfall :( ....... god i remember reading this part in the book for the very first time and wanted to reread this part and hope it somehow would magically change :(
