What's so difficult?

The guy gets ticketed for speeding and thinks he's been hard done by. Then later on on his way back there's a bad accident and one of the police officers is the one that ticketed him, and it makes him think about why speeding is not a good idea.

Speeding is reckless. If you don't pay attention to the conditions, and you don't pay attention the limit, that's just what it is, reckless.

Some idiot cuts you off while you're doing 90, and you hit him, what do you think happens? Who was reckless? Both of you.

Cars move. That is a part of their function... Velocity = Speed. Reckless driving, IMO, is when you do not have 'reasonable' control over you vehicle.

If you don't drive, you wont get into a car accident. If you do drive, you should be in control.

Speeding tickets are probably 95%+ for profit and 5%- to catch reckless ppl. In a perfect world, the complete focus should be on the "Reckless" element, not the "speed".

My dad is a cop, and he and I both agree that any cop who would let someone off for any reason after they've broken the law should be fired immediately. Using cops who do their job poorly as an excuse is really kind of a circular arguement.

And a lot of people *think* they have control over their car at a higher speed when nothing goes wrong. That can turn into a very different situation if someone runs out at you and you can't stop in time - as bf010 said, both parties have been reckless.
