  • finally a video where sean bean doesn't die

  • The only meat Moby eats is between a man's legs.

  • 2:39 kabukiman :)

  • I used to love this song! Good times XD

  • This song used to be so boring to me....

  • listen back....to crosby stills, and nash,we are all star dust..

  • One of the shittiest songs ever recorded. Congrats, Moby.

  • The theory of Conservation of energy states that energy is constant at all times in which energy is neither created or destroyed, and since Einstein's theory of relativity states that energy is mass means nothing is created or destroyed in an isolated system. We are the made of the same things as all the other things in the universe

  • Moby is one of those techno rockers who have a knack for gauging what is going on in the world and translating it into a musical form....God bless the thinkers....

  • dammit I love me some Geeks!

  • oh and you forgot sergant kubkiman nypd at 2:39

  • we are all star dust looking at the stars

  • @kenmabie

    in lak'ech a'la k'in

  • What a beautiful song!!!!!!

  • We are atoms that were forged inside massive stars billions of years ago, born from the energy of the Big Bang billions of years before that, and have come alive by a grand process of evolution. Can there be anything more stunning than that?

  • My daughter Kerry asked me one day while listening to this song in the car if it was true that we are all made of stars. Yes I told her. Six months later she was gone....Now a bright star in the universe!

  • @bjw521 What happened to your little girl?

  • We are all made of Cars parody please...

  • This music deserved 1080p, not 240.

  • This song is pretty correct. We're comprised of the cosmic remnants of the early big bang. We're all connected, biologically.. and to the Earth, chemically, and to the Universe .. Atomically.

  • Moby ruled in 1999...I don't know what happened!

  • Sometimes I feel like I should be in a space suit on this planet

  • NHL Hitz anyone?

  • @VidKid40 if anything its more beautiful because its the truth. The truth of our universe is beautiful.

  • wait, no, this is just how coke heads remember the 70's. : P

  • I can remember a little about who I was when this came out. : D Young, apparently 13 or 14. It was exciting because I realized my life could be as epic as the video. It wasn't, but I really liked the video. : )

"I know I'm wearing a space suit, but from in here you all look like a bunch of freaks."

  • am i on LSD?

  • I truly believe Sean Bean drive around in a Delorean.

  • Would've been a much bigger hit if Moby did a rock remix of it on Tommy Lee's "Never A Dull Moment" LP & let Tommy sing vocals w/Dave Navarro on lead guitar. Tommy actually sings backup vocals on this track. This came out the same time as Tommy's "Hold Me Down" single in 2002. While he's known for numerous dance/techno/electronic hits on the club scene, in the world of the Billboard Top 40, Moby's just a one hit wonder. "Southside" is his only Top 40 pop hit. This is his second biggest pop hit.

  • @bucky468

Good thing some people focus on making nice music instead of looking to make hits.

  • wow-had forgotten how many celebwierdos are in this video!

  • why does this song and video seem so sad? We really are made of stars. We are all, in the most basic form, light.

  • @AkumaxTamashii Thats sort of what hes implying, that there is no real difference between you and those "stars" both for the better and worse. Also many of those "stars" went from anonymous to famous (and in some cases infamous) and then back to anonymous. The one thing we can count on is that thing always change.

  • I was here.

  • @philsnk I think that what you just said is the whole point of the song. We are all dying to say we are here before we aren't anymore.

  • Moby looks a bit like a younger version of Astronaut Story Musgrave in his spacesuit.

  • JC Chasez <3

  • now I need to buy a space suite.

  • ATTENTION MOBY - Please keep making great high vibrational frequency music to elevate the human race until the day you get to dance with Christ.

    Namste

  • video great!!!

  • I miss the old MTv because M2 is not enough

  • I knew it but LeBron Travelled

  • @troyrod27

    nope

  • sean bean u fuckin sexy beast ;DD

  • 2.7 million views? i guess somebody listens to techno.

  • damn dis song is so awesome

  • RON JEREEEEEMY.

  • I don't think that's Drew but that is someone else. Sgt Kabukiman NYPD. The same people that made the toxic avenger made his movie. He is at 2:39

  • NOBODY listens to techno!

  • @1:28 it's Boromir,Ned Stark,Sean Bean.

  • Sounds like something that David Bowie would sing xD

  • Not available on mobile, could remedy this o' uploader?

  • I like this song a lot more when I ignore the video. I choose to take the more literal meaning- we are actually made of the same physical matter as stars. We are made of the same stuff that the Sun is formed from. Seems much more beautiful, to me.

  • @Sappheyes Or maybe you just watched the "Making Of" video and want to take credit from Moby for what he originally came up with.

  • @hoopsfan24 I never saw the "Making Of" video. Even if I had, Moby did not originally put forth the concept that human bodies contain atoms that were once in, and formed by, stars.

  • @Sappheyes um, we don't have helium in our bodies. sorry.

  • @Sappheyes

"Every man and every woman is a star. Every number is infinite, there is no difference."

    (AL 1:3&4)

  • @Sappheyes I love reading Carl Sagan, who wrote that same thing, but didn't sing about it to my knowledge.

  • @blewj but you see, he did sing about it.

  • @Sappheyes I just started taking Astronomy101 and I read about that in the first chapter - us, the planet, pretty much everything, being made of "star stuff" - and this song immediately popped into my head. :)

  • @Sappheyes I couldn't agree more - the thought that our immortality is assured in the form of stardust is far more beautiful than any religious farytales......

  • @Sappheyes Undoubtedly there's a double meaning here. The lyrics are too close for it to be an accident - describing how stars form, fall apart, re-form, etc. It didn't actually hit me until just now though.

  • @Sappheyes We are actually by products of stars. They are not formed by the same elements as we are.

  • @Sappheyes plus the video kinda sucks too.

  • @Sappheyes that's what the song is about anyway... "quantum physics and disco"

  • @Sappheyes We're made of tons of carbon and water, which is not what stars are made of. But I guess you could think this theoretically through the big bang theory that we came from stars essentially. Even though, we are still not 'made of' stars in a literal sense.

  • @skassira12 protons neutrons and electrons....everything is made of those three things

  • @skassira12 Actually, we are. In the roughest sense, our solar system was formed from exactly the same swirling matter that formed the sun. In a more direct sense, some of the elements that are found on Earth and necessary for life are because of the fission in stars. Ergo, we are literally made from the byproducts that stars have sent off through time, and chances are that a good portion of your physical body, on a subatomic level, was once a massive cosmic body.

  • @Sappheyes Knowing the poet that Moby is, I wouldn't doubt that's exactly what he meant, and by showing a video of people whom we consider "stars" doing regular activities, he's really saying they're no more different than us, we're all made of stars.

  • GARY COLEMAN????

  • the hedgehog

  • When I saw Ron Jeremy I about peed my pants.

  • This song represents US better than any other.

In the US all people are united and work together to achieve greater cause.

    Pathetic.

Everyone think that he/she is important and need to be in some place, and their value is grater than other people/countries.

Nothing can stop US now, Growing in number and growing in speed: since in last 40 years progress jumped further than all years of human civilization combined.

Pollution is 50 times higher than production.

Moby is one of the best thinkers.

  • Wouldn't the first star be Henry Winkler since Moby is standing on his Star?? Just a question.

  • @b1naqm28 That is Ron Fucking Jeremy haha!

  • Whoever cares about their comments getting "thumbs-up'ed" are annoying as fuck.

  • Whos the girl with glasses at 2:39 ????

  • @Veilspire Leelee Sobieski. There is a wikipedia article about this song that tells you all the people that were in this video. Hope that helps. She is smokin' hot.

  • @night3song Moby isn't a group, is just one guy

  • ANGELYN

  • I heard this for the first time at a Quiznos

  • NHL Hitz!

  • genius.

  • I think this artist deserves to sell his work wherever he wants, I never tire of listening to a man who took my emotional world and turned it into music! Why do we bash talented people instead of celebrating their success? Would you rather he never got out of his garage?

  • Hola mensos.

  • Thumbs up if you've been in an adult movie with Ron Jeremy.

  • 1:52 is that Ron Jeremy?

  • @commandoslayer Ya. He and a lot of other celebrities cameo in here

  • Carl Sagan. <3

  • Memories of being 11 and 12 years old and listening to this song and Vanessa Carlton's song that I forget the name of now but if hard-pressed to find I could.

  • @PurpleSausage Hahahahahahaha [x

  • When i was a kid, i was secretly in love with Moby hahaha .

  • I want a Moby NASA patch!

  • It's sad that so many people associate such an awesome song with a stupid commercial

  • may we turn from the ways of this visible worlds temptation ,call on the name of jesus christ and be filled with the holy spirit to guide us into away form the devils temptations of sin,so after death we can escape hellfire forever and enter into eternal paradise heaven. i believe lust is a sin just like adulatury according to jesus christ

  • @huntallen00 This is Youtube, not church.

  • @JDavidG1989 Mark 16:15 says:"Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation." Acts 1:8 says "you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses" so all together, when someone seeks GOD upon recieving Jesus Christ as savior and lord there filled with the holy spirit that gives them strength to witness there truth of GOD to EVERYONE is hopes atleast few people will greatfully recieve the message as few will still reject it.so youtube theres people

  • Did I see Ron Jeremy in there?

  • How could anyone find out about this song after a blackberry commercial? You must be younger than 15 years old because this song was amazing back in the day. I remember when songs like this were actually popular. I found out about this song in a tower record store. So many memories.

  • Why does this song make me want to cry?

  • Thumbs up if you didn't know Blackberry used this in a commercial until you got here.

  • @crazybay46913 *RIM

  • @crazybay46913 Why would a commercial advertising fruit use this song?

  • @RoryVideos Actually, that is where a lot of Moby's music is used- in commercials. I think he got his start with a Burger King commercial.

  • @wiqdGato this was in hitz 2003 not 2002

  • 1up for ironic comic references (we, and all matter, are literally made from suns)

Also, Toxi FTW, even though Sgt. Kabookiman got no name drop-fail

  • @doomfroggie420 The lighter elements were produced by Big Bang nucleosynthesis. The heavier elements that make up our world...our very bodies...were produced in stars....stars now long dead. Most of the energy on this planet comes from our living star, what we call the sun. We, like almost all living organisms on this planet, are solar powered. The heavy fissile materials present on our planet are releasing energy that was obtained from a long dead star.

  • 2001 A Space Odessy much.

  • @toolazy4myspace Uh, they were when this song came out... Before your time, perhaps?

  • Is it just me, or does this remind anybody else of "Heroes," by David Bowie?

  • My god, this video is full of stars. (Now how many people will connect the quote to the video) :)

  • Am I the only one that thinks the guy in the DeLorean looks like Jason Newstead? O_o
