  • i sound like a jerk you did awesome but you kinda scare me most grown i've met think a good time is going to long jhon silver but no your cool!

  • Cool!! This is avesome like real song

  • An interpretation is taking something and studying it and then explaining what you believe it means, this is simply a different way of playing it, a different style if you will. I personally, not to be rude, don't like it very much. It is way too high, which is why I don't condone different styles of songs, otherwise I think it is okay, not perfect but good. And no, America doesn't sing it that high, so don't even begin to contradict me, sorry if you weren't.

  • "so dont even begin to contradict me".. not to be rude, but you sound like a complete wanker

  • nice

  • Jerry Simon you're awesome. I like how you switched to the major sevens! You have a sweet, lilting voice that fits this song perfectly. Good smooth strumming. Very pretty!

    Keep jamming man!

  • IT'S ALL ABOUT THE RELATIVES PEOPLE

  • i thought it was Em and d6/9

  • it is but he got a 12string

  • its cool how even tho yur playing the wrong chords it sounds the same, you must be good guitarist to be able to do that

  • don't strum so choppy. it's much smoother than that and please use the right chords it's easier than what your trying to do.

  • Great song, love it

  • Good job

  • excellent my friend! Love it!

  • can u play ur guitar a little higher up on ur body please ??

  • great job dude

    rock on!

  • For the instrumental play the second chord of the verse and then play 044250 then pick your way up and down (using pulloff on the way down) the scale on the 2nd string then back up and across to the first string then down the scale (again using pulloffs) on it and back to the verse chords.

With that and watching the video you should be able to work it out. It sort of my interpretation not exactly like the original.

This is my signature song when ever I play live :D

    Enjoy

    Jerry

  • Ok as promised chords are :

    Verse 022000 044200

Strike the 6th string on the first chord then strum it then go up to the second chord. Thats it for the verse :D

    Chorus

    005432 and 004220

  • it just goes and goes with eminor and Dadd6add9

  • man america rocks its great to see someone actually singin it and well too

  • Thanks. I will postr the chords I use later. They are not the same as the ones in the original or at least not the same voicings

  • I've enjoyed you version of this song.

Gosh! You use 4 chords! You're an acoustic guitar 'connosseur'. I've got a long way to go and learn from. I love that 12 strings too

  • Wow, I enjoyed your performance more than the boring orginal!!!

What chord are you playing in place of the Dadd6add9?

  • pretty good

  • cool voice man

  • Very nice. I want to know the chord at "I've been through the desert..." because I think it's different from the original one, isn't it?

  • Nice, very nice

  • Pretty good!

  • holy gosh! Awwsome!! you added your own style too LOVE IT

    on my faves mhmm

  • The Taylor 355 is a really nice guitar. If you can pick one up second hand they are excellent value. I am also learning Lonely People at the moment :)

  • Can u please post the chords u are using and the altered tuning if there is one i dont think u have altered the tuning but just in case thank u!

  • That is very simple, the wohle time: Em-F#m

  • I just want the chords for the chorus where u change them pls thank u !

  • It's Gmaj7 to F#m.

  • of course g maj7 is e minor without the E in it its a substitution very clever :-)(cant believe i didnt figure that out on my own)

  • Good job.. I liked it... Great guitar as well.. I've been wanting to pick up a taylor 12 string. I have so many songs to put on, but hard to find the time. Perhaps I'll get Sister Golden Hair by America on soon!
