  • lol 2:18 i love the monkey dance

  • WHAT A SPAZZ!!!!!

  • what is this thing he's playing???? does anyone know how to make one??

  • no. he invented it though, its called a whamola... its basically a bass string attached with a whammy bar at the end..

  • It's a whamola, his own invention.

  • i don't think he invented it.

  • I think you might be right. But the one he uses is of his own craft.

  • @Chunkadook he reinvented it.

  • he didnt come up with this but as far as i know he came up with the idea for a banjo bass. (there were banjo cellos tho)

  • Fairly easy to make - I built one using the instructions given by youtube user NapoleonXV - in his clip, called 're: how to make a whamola'

Claypool didn't invent it, he was given one.

  • @steviefabulous1990

It has the low string from an upright bass basically attached to a long stick with one pickup mounted on it. The handle is attached to the string then counter-balanced with a heavy spring. He's just hits it with a drumstick. A friend of mine made one a couple years ago. His was pretty ghetto though.

  • Fans made it for Les and asked him to play around with it and see what he could do with it. Les didn't come up with the Whamola, but he sure as hell mastered the strange contraption. Primus Sucks!
