In 1.01 it's possible to see a panzerfaust, but Germany began to produce this weapon in august 1943 and the battle for Stalingrad ended on first days on february in the same year. In Stalingrad there were no panzerfaust.

We have to remember that Gestapo and NKVD strictly controlled soldiers and officers in respective armies and often their behavior was not quite friendly for their same comrades. NKVD agents fired with Maxim MMG and PPSH subMG on Red Army soldiers who turned back during bloody assaults. Gestapo could act on german soldier's families at home. Not a good life on both sides.

My grandpa died a few months ago. He fought in the 6. army and got 2 iron crosses during the war. He was one of the few that could escape out of the Kessel. During the fight he got shot in the stomach and the arm so he couldnt play his beloved piano anymore. He was a great grandpa and not a Nazi. It was very hard for him to forget all the BS that happened during the war and he tried to write it down on paper.

I'm romanian and my grandfather fought in Stalingrad like other 200.000 romanian soldiers deployed to Stalingrad. He was taken prisoner by the Red Army in 1943 and was detained eight years in a soviet concentration camp after that he was released and returned home, he died in 1984 at age 65

But if it wasn't for Russia, this war would have taken much longer, broken many countries apart, and millions more would have died. I still can't believe how 2 million soldiers died in this battle. Russian soldiers must have had so much courage as to charge in the direction of open machine gun fire with very little ammunition and protection. God bless those soldiers who died running.

Instead of 400, 000 dead Americans, our dead would have numbered in the millions. The Soviets took out approximately 3 million Germans that we never had to fight as a result. The Atomic bomb would have been ours, and we would have won in the end.

In 1.01 it's possible to see a panzerfaust, but Germany began to produce this weapon in august 1943 and the battle for Stalingrad ended on first days on february in the same year. In Stalingrad there were no panzerfaust.

We have to remember that Gestapo and NKVD strictly controlled soldiers and officers in respective armies and often their behavior was not quite friendly for their same comrades. NKVD agents fired with Maxim MMG and PPSH subMG on Red Army soldiers who turned back during bloody assaults. Gestapo could act on german soldier's families at home. Not a good life on both sides.

My grandpa died a few months ago. He fought in the 6. army and got 2 iron crosses during the war. He was one of the few that could escape out of the Kessel. During the fight he got shot in the stomach and the arm so he couldnt play his beloved piano anymore. He was a great grandpa and not a Nazi. It was very hard for him to forget all the BS that happened during the war and he tried to write it down on paper.
Like he helped someone to cut his arm off and stuff like that... War is shit!

I'm romanian and my grandfather fought in Stalingrad like other 200.000 romanian soldiers deployed to Stalingrad. He was taken prisoner by the Red Army in 1943 and was detained eight years in a soviet concentration camp after that he was released and returned home, he died in 1984 at age 65

@EEVEEdude11 Actually, the Allies could have. It was just Germany and the allies they had were almost useless. But if it wasn't for Russia, this war would have taken much longer, broken many countries apart, and millions more would have died. I still can't believe how 2 million soldiers died in this battle. Russian soldiers must have had so much courage as to charge in the direction of open machine gun fire with very little ammunition and protection. God bless those soldiers who died running.

@DrlchknJr Well actually, a lot of the casualties were OUTSIDE of the city, during what was operation uranus. But yes, the majority were killed in the city....

@ISRAELKING100 Exactly, the Soviets made a pact with the Nazis, but they still portrayed themselves as "liberators of eastern europe" when in fact the soviets continued to operate the same concentration camps after the war.

@olvoro11 well as mather in fact it was stalin who was the bitch to use those camps again, i was really dissapointed when i heard it that they did that , especcialy cuz of the fact that the Russians fought like hell and did the lionpart of the war, they went trough hell and why do they have to do such opposite action after the war while the nazis were actually planning to kill all the Russians in camps

@EEVEEdude11 I agree that the Russians were critical to winning the war. I think that the Allies would have prevailed in the end without them, but the war would undoubtedly lasted much longer. Instead of 400, 000 dead Americans, our dead would have numbered in the millions. The Soviets took out approximately 3 million Germans that we never had to fight as a result. The Atomic bomb would have been ours, and we would have won in the end.

I recently read memories of generals Vasiljevski, Grecko, Jerjomenko in the book Batlle for Stalingrad and I was really impressed by Soviet ability to defend their country....
