That's so sloppy. Who taught you Wing Chun. There's no need to tan soa and then pak sao. You can tan and hit or pak and hit. Also her back heel is rising off the ground when she is punching. You should slide in and stay grounded. That's what the chum kiu form teaches you. Have you ever done the forms? doesn't look like you have spent much time doing Wing Chun at all. Please don't miss represent the style that way.
oh excellent. i was just asking Sensei Park about posting a Wing Chun drill. This is a good one. You two should post more of these if time is on your side :) Thank you!
I am just learning this in my Jeet Kune Do class. The sliding step is important so that we maintain our balance and power and do not over reach by bending over. Thanks for the lesson.
good stuff. Using lop sau and cutting to the outside is one of my favorite Wing Chun techniques...it actually parallels Hung Gar's Single Tiger Exits Cave.
Remember, if your opponent is taller don't go up on your toes to meet him, make him come to you=)
Hi I have done wingchun for a few years. This looks very much like a tan/da and pak/da. But you need the body mass behind the technique and the bik ging(closing energy) with bil ma(bursting stepping). Tan/da needs the slicing of the hand, and pak needs a 45degrees pressure into the body to trap the hand. My 2 cents
I have used this, it can work. Get good at the motion through repitiion and then move at faster speed so you can shut down even fast hands. Learn to work it in a full contact padded step sparring and then open sparring environment for optimum usage.
I practice Traditional Wing Chun kung fu. I always enjoy your brother Chosen's videos, but I'm a little confused at the moment. What you were doing didn't look quite like Wing Chun, but it didn't -NOT- look like Wing Chun either... kinda like a combination of Wing Chun and Karate (which I have also studied). Do you practice a combination of styles?
Toshiko you have the technique down here but not the flow. What is the flow? The flow is like water going down the river it has a current and if I place a rock in the stream the water will adapt in an instant and move around the rock. In short when it comes to defense it is not 1-2-3- moves it should all seem like one move. You block a strike follows in a instant in one move. When it comes to the arts you must show agression you have talent just need not to hold back. Peace and honor peacemaker.
This is the first 'combination' I teach beginners too. Very useful. Practice 100 times each day, once you understand it there is a lot you can do with it!
Dropping into a fighting stance causes you to lose the tactical element of surprise.
"Make your everyday stance your fighting stance, and your fighting stance your everyday stance." Miyamoto Musashi
He wrote this a few hundred years ago and MA instructors, for the most part, still have not taken his advice.

Awesome! I'm convinced that Wing Chun is the reason Bruce Lee was so amazing. That and he did a lot of cross-traing, which I believe is essential.
