  • It is so cliche to assume that if you are pansexual you have the capacity to fall for anyone and therefore fall for everyone. Just like men assuming we are definitely up for threesomes, we are easy, we cheat and are greedy because we want "them all". It's like don't mistake pansexuality for low standards and being loose.

The fact that you are not attracted to all women is natural - It's not like straight men and women are going around humping every woman or man they meet either..

  • @elysssa6543211 Actually, no. It's different from bisexuality. It means, whether that person is, transgender, transexual, trans(whatever) etc, male, female. They don't care. It's about falling in love with a person, not their gender. I know plenty of bi's who wouldn't date a trans, purely because it's not for everyone and some people find it uncomfortable. Yet a pansexual will fall in love, and not care about what's in their trousers. :)

  • pansexuality sounds like the same as bisexuality. it's essentially the same thing. you're attracted to both sexes, or you're attracted to people regardless of their sex. that's bisexuality.

  • @elysssa6543211 To say they are the same is to assume there are only two genders or sexes to be attracted to and just like MyDearLouise mentioned there are many other people who fall out of this gender binary. It is possible for a person who identifies themself as bisexual to actually be pansexual but that they prefer this word (it is also easier to explain to people) but pansexuality has the capacity to be attracted to all types of people - gender (a label) doesn't affect the soul.

  • There's also pomosexuality.

    Which is different.

  • I finally learned what pansexuality meant a few years ago and I realized that it fit me perfectly. I was a hopeless romantic, and despite what society was telling me, I was falling in love with not only men, but women, and people who weren't even a specific gender. As far as the sexual part of it goes, I'm more sexually attracted to females. Guys can't always do it for me, but I appreciate my boyfriends determination and kindness. XD

  • You are attracted to 15% of 50% of the human pop. thats NOT ALOT... lol, FANTASTIC VID , really truly loved it and you're super cute :)

  • whahahahhaha peter pan

  • pans emos groths homos punks (need to be ship off to africia to be exlie see how long they all last.

  • @don77sicily its people like u who cause so much unnecessary hate in this world.....nobody said u have to agree but please take your bullshit elsewhere

  • @VolleyballBECCA now look at it this way if you can-- SEX thats all america and untied kingdom are about emo groth rock punks thats all its about havent mankind gone for the lowest think about it not about my 1st comment but think about the the word of reason i am saying here

  • @don77sicily You do know that "emos" "goths" and "punks" "homos" "pans" all have something common right? Theyre all normal people with a different preference than you. Nice to meet ya Stalin! So whats the mass murder count up to today? Or are ya Hitler cause youre sendin' em' off? Fuh-re-ak!

  • imelia and JD sent me your way cuz they didn't know pansexuals are actually fairly common lol. i'm the one who dated the m2f tranny forever who "turned against society" and s/he just plain turned gay after i broke up lul,, my fave quote in the vid: "i think everyon'es pansexual they just dont know it yet" i believe this too hah thought id comment for them since they dont have YT accounts,to say great vid.

  • Thank you for this video because I AM pansexual. I have a general love for all people and though all my friends are either gay or lesbian they seem to ask me the same question, "Well...which one do you prefer more?" and I tell them, I can't choose. There are things I love about women just as there are things I love about men and i can't choose between the two. Then I just get passed around as Bisexual and i'm not a label junkie. I just love the freedom of loving anyone and everyone. <3 <3 <3 <3

  • YOU ARE FANTASTIC! Its nice to know that other people understand how I identify!

  • >:D This is going on Facebook. My friends are all against/confused on what Pansexuality was. v_v I was frowned upon.

  • oh my god... you are awesome! girl!! I'ma favorite this video :) that is so true. just because you're gay. doesnt mean you're going to like every single guy. or just because your lesbian doesnt mean you're going to like ever single girl! You are completely ingenious. you explained it in such a simple way! Gosh.. if only more bisexual people would know what pansexual meant,

  • I actually just figured out that I am a pansexual...I'm kind of struggling with it because of coming out again and coming to terms with it. I'm alright with it personally but I don't want everyone thinking I'm "gay for attention" for a long time I said I was a lesbian but I was struggling with stuff. Now that I've dated both genders and people outside of the gender binary I can say I know I am pansexual.. I don't want everyone to know but at the same time I am proud. It's confusing but you help!

  • I've watched this video about 100x. The video content itself is amazing and insightful and helpful as always, but what makes this video incredible is how gorgeous you look. You always look great but this video is different. i think it's the eyes.MaryB is REALLY lucky

  • I was too busy watching your eyes the whole time.

    Oh my lord (L)___(L)

  • hadn't heard the term pansexual before... i have a definition to call myself sexuality now!! good to know! ha! not that I ever needed one. i just love everyone!! :)

  • I'm really open minded, and I am sexually attracted to women mostly, but there are some guys I find attractive. I don't consider myself pansexual or bi, I'm just me. For me it's all about personality.

  • Wow.. Your eyes are stunning.

Obviously you always have amazing eyes (that never changes). But yeah... Hahah. Your eyes just seemed to stand out more in this video. :]

  • @trianglebaby500: i'd like to know the same thing..pm me when you've got the answer...pretty please...=)

  • I love what you have to say on this issue...though I find it interesting that it seems like you would date a pan woman, but have said in previous videos that you would not date a bi woman. To me, bisexuality and pansexuality are almost interchangeable terms. Myself and most "bisexuals" I know identify as such because we fall in love and lust regardless of sex or gender. The term may reflect a false idea of gender dichotomy, but nonetheless is generally applied to those who see past gender.

  • Jess I can't even get over your baby blues. I just want to swim in them bahahahaha. Love ya!

  • Pansexual yea!

  • I'm Pansexual {:

  • I am bisexual and In GSA and such too in a junior in highschool . Thought I'd specify because it sounded a bit like I was a leader or something of the gay support group at my school

  • I am bi btw. I never was as proactve about spreading awareness until I lost my friend to it

  • Hi last week I lost a good friend who was gay and he committed suicide my support group (gay group of kids who Hang outt and talk about gay stuff) want to make suicide in lgbt teens more aware in out area. Message me ? Wewant to make shirts nd donatebpart of the moneyto Trevor foundation or something like that we are hurting alot and need help

  • how do u tell a girl that u like them more than a friend with out them yelling at u

  • agreed!

  • But its normal not be attracted to all women/lesbians.... I dont think that there is a man who loves all women....

  • Agreed, movie popcorn is gross. I feel horrible after I eat a few handfuls.

  • When i found out what Pansexaul was,i was like :O thats what i am!lmao

  • where did you get your glasses?!

  • Hi Jess!

  • The first time I tried to explain my sexuality to a friend as not exactly straight, not exactly gay and not exactly bi, I said basically the definition you gave for pansexuality. Much less eloquently, though. This video is the first time it's actually clicked. I feel comfortable saying I'm pansexual. I've never really felt comfortable coming out because I didn't think it was true. It's coming together now. Thank you.

  • I agree with you 100%

  • Very good topic, movie popcorn hmmm! Did you pay for it? I heard about the sneaking around you did *wink wink* have a fab reunion see ya in two weeks ;-)

  • I suppose I'm pansexual then... I mean... I like who I like, and I'll date who I like, be they male, female or something else entirely. I've never really labelled myself as pansexual though. I don't generally label myself as anything because it kinda doesn't matter. Labels just limit the options.

  • I love this, and I love that you guys are doing pansexuality this week. I'm one myself! :]

  • @LimitedOblivion

    Edit;

    I'm pansexual, not panamorous.

  • i love this so much jess! we all spend alot of time thinking about whether we really have a strong preference for one sex or the other, and i think for some of us we do prefer just men or women, which is totally fair enough, but then for others it really is a sort of split down the middle preference! and i know for me, when i honestly do think about it... it's not about the gender at all, it's really about the person!

  • Ew....I will never eat movie popcorn again.... ;P

  • Movie popcorn has all sorts of milk and diary products in the oil also saturated fats and tons of other nasty stuff.

  • um... i don't understand your argument. i'm a lesbian but i'm not attracted to all the women in the world -- just like if i was straight and not attracted to all the men in the world. Only being attracted to a few folks of one gender doesn't make you automatically pansexual

  • You, know, I've always chosen to say I was just "sexual", with no prefix. I'm attracted to who I'm attracted to and that's all there is to it. Lol

  • it's ridiculous that someone would assume a homosexual person to be attracted to everybody of the same sex. nobody assumes a straight person to be attracted to everybody of the OPPOSITE sex, now do they??

  • I saw your doppleganger (look alike) at a vegan cafe in portland oregon. It was insane.

  • JESS You're soo creative with the titles! hahaha!

  • Awesome awesome vid!!

I love the fact that you touched on how being one way or the other its not all about being sexually attracted..

I myself am bi..but I can idenify with pan because to me it doesnt matter.

If you enjoy that person..and love that person..who cares whats between their legs..

    Just an amazing vid!

  • I love this video topic and I agree with you completely. I love the idea of pansexuality. I wish everyone could just like who they like without the need for "gay" or "straight" labels, even if you identify as such. I just feel it's unnecessary and unrealistic because sexuality isn't so black and white. I also agree with you about liking a small population of women. I identify as a lesbian but I don't like every girl that I see.

ps. that sucks about the popcorn incident& have fun at the reunion

  • Enjoy the family reunion!

  • I think I am a pan-UNsexual haha I can be attracted to guys, but most certainly not in a sexual way. Dick :( okay I'll stick with "lesbian"

  • 1) I <3 movie popcorn...ik it's gross but i can't help myself :)

    2) I'm glad you talked about this! I'm now educated in pansexuality, prior to this all i knew was that pan = bread in espanol! So i would've guessed it had something to do with an intense love of bread. 0:)

    3) Holla NY!

  • awww we will miss you next week

  • what movie did u guys watch?

  • AMEN!

I hate it when someone thinks just because you like the same gender, you're automatically attracted to EVERYONE. That's when I'm like, "don't flatter yourself honey."

  • Movie popcorn doesn't site well with me, either. WAY too much fake butter. Gah.

  • Really, really good video. On a side note, I'm so glad you mentioned that you're only attracted to about 15% of the female population. I'm a female and the possibility of me being straight actually came to mind recently because I'm not attracted to a very large percentage of the female population (maybe about 15%, actually). I feel a strange sense of relief now lol.

  • Pansexuality has a tendency to "other" transsexuals or intersexed people, which I really dislike.

  • @femalehysteria That's a potentially hurtful stereotype. A lot of pansexuals are in heterosexual or "normal" gay relationships, but they aren't out as pansexuals when they are with a cisgender person. For example, when a girl is with a guy she's labeled as straight (maybe bi) when she's with a girl, she's labeled as a lesbian. When she dates an FTM or MTF or other gender variant person, she's more likely to be questioned about her orientation, and therefore outs herself as pan.

  • @downinthatgrass You have a point. All I'm saying is that I hear a lot of, "I'm not bi, I'm pan - I'm attracted to not only men and women, but trans, intersexed, and genderqueer people as well!" Many of the latterly mentioned people DO identify as falling out of the gender binary, but many don't. This can reinforce the idea that that, e.g., transwomen aren't "real" women. It can also assume that bisexuals aren't cool with dating gender variant folks.

  • LOVE that you talked about this!!! As a pansexual I feel like most people just think of me as bisexual but it seems narrow minded ... but like you said labels are labels are labels...

  • You look gorgeous!

  • I'm pansexual. =] Excellent video as always. <3

  • Well said =).

  • how would I explain that one to the 'rents

  • @johnnydeppluva13 omfg me 2

  • Awesome video! As a pansexual, I think you did an excellent job!

  • I would say that I am bordering on asexual. I don't really feel the need to tell people that I am gay because it doesn't really matter. If I end up feeling attracted to someone the cause is more than likely gonna be their personality. I have never felt that way with a guy before, but I can't say that I don't think I ever will. The idea of never finding someone is a little depressing though.

  • I LOVE the way you explained this topic. I identify as pansexual, and whenever anyone asks, they compare it to bisexuality. But there IS a difference!

The wait was worth it. Plus, I think waaayyy too many people were recovering from the 4th of July. Have fun in NY!

    XO's :)

  • I definitely agree with you there, I cant ignore it when I see a guy and help but think he's super duper cute but then again I am not interested in guys sexually or romantically... lol :)

  • eww, movie popcorn is the worstt...... :(

  • @rlmeyer12 really is. the smell alone is overwhelmingly nauseating. *barf*

interesting topic. i've read about pansexuality, but i never quite understood it. much thanks for explaining it.

new york a go-go! have fun!

  • LOVE THIS TOPIC!

Most people mistake Pansexuals for being Bisexuals, so I like the way that you explained it fully! :)

  • Word! I'm soo not attracted to every woman I pass by on the street, but some of them, yes. So I get your "15%" kinda thing there :) Good vid, Jess. And enjoy NY, see you in two weeks! :) Xo's -liz

  • Can our minds get totally ok with the feelings, thoughts, whatever, associated with pan? I don't know... I wish I could say I do, but I'm not sure... It's like fighting with ourselves for feeling wrong in some moments...but that probably appends just for being different in any way, so...

Loved your open mind... It's so hard to find people like you this days around here =)

Have a great family reunion =)

  • Fifteen percent does sound a tad high, but if you think about it as having the potential to be attracted to every 7.5th person you pass instead of some sort of lust its really quite small. In reality you're not just attracted to people because of how they look but how they think, which is essentially what pansexuality is about and this probably made a ton more sense inside my noggin

  • I'm with ya, the idea of it sounds great, almost as if one was to give equal opportunity to all individuals....I'm definitely not pan sexual hahaha I just like pretty girls....that doesn't mean I'd sleep with them all either tho, eww

    <333

  • THANK YOU THANK YOU for talking about this! Dang I love this channel more everyday.

  • I was thinking about the 15 %.

It that just looking at the person and deciding if you would have sex with her or not? So just physical?

Because 15% would be like every 7.5th woman you see on the street. I consider that a rather high number.

  • I like the thought of this.

  • I don't like labels at all but society feels the need to use them..You know yourself, and my advice would be if someone is trying to get to know you..just tell your experiences and where your at and what you want..I normally say.. "i'm Erika" lol we"re all one of a kind!!!

  • your forgiven for the late video, because i love ya :D

  • hahaha, omg im a pan sexual. finally i have a word for how i feel.

  • those cuts are like having my eyes molested by a razor blade. can you make an effort no to make them SO obvious? other than that, have a good time in new york and i agree with everything you said in this video. i look forward to seeing you in 2 weeks. peace.

  • @xXRoBeRtXHaYdNXx It's extremely time consuming to do proper video editing, so for now, you're just going to have to deal.

  • Btw, I'm going to let you guys talk amongst yourselves about this topic. I won't be responding to anyone who is trying to prove or disprove sexual orientation, gender identity, bisexuality, and everything in between. I'm not a doctor, even though I play one on TV. -jess

  • So if we're going by your understanding of pansexuality, doesn't that further prove that sexuality isn't much of a fact?

  • Ah, wasn't even aware of pansexuality! Wouldn't that be bisexual though? Labels.. confuse me :S

Not meaning be ignorant, i bit clueless :D

  • @EmmyIiciouS A bisexual is someone who is attracted to both males and females. Pansexuals are "gender-blind", it doesn't really matter if their partner is male, female, mtf, ftm, or whatever else. I like to think of it as being attracted to the soul, and not to the body, but that's just me.

  • @3DeepCuts Ah that kinda makes sense, bit similar to Bi with little changes ^^

Not heard of the term before. :)

  • @EmmyIiciouS Bisexuality is being attracted to both men and women, whereas pansexuality is broader, it's being attracted to someone whether they're man, woman, or transgendered, it defies the "usual" gender boxes.

  • @EmmyIiciouS pansexuality also means you can be attracted to people which can not be identified as any gender,if u say so XD it means that pansexuals could also like transexuals or donno m to f or f to m people in process. hope thats kind of right :D

  • @FuckinSceneKid Exactly. Good work :)

  • @cautiousplay I got it I got it uuuh yay :D

By the way: Keep doing your thing.

love the videos, good themes, own opinions and hot hosts :)

    greetings from germany!
