Try playing Lee's bass lines (and singing) simultaneously, Lifeson's guitar riffs/arpeggios and solos, and finally Peart's syncopated drum rhythms. None of the above is easy to perform.

The "musicians" in many of the so-called bands of today would be completely and utterly out of their depth i.e. bands like say McFly or U2. Rush's complicated awesome music could well be described as being on a "timeless wavelength"!!

Does anyone else agree?

Wow. First off: very well played! I like how you pretty much nailed the feel of the song, even though your tone is so different.

Secondly: I'm guessing you learned by ear? There are a few areas where you're missing detail or play it a bit differently to Geddy, but that's OK. I really (really) like that you doubled with the synth in the break, though.

I see you've also covered "Show Don't Tell"; I think there's a little bit of that in this cover, too. (e.g. 0:40) ;)

Not only do you do a great job you make it look like you needed little practice. Well done. The problem with Geddy I guess has always been that he makes this look so bleeding easy on stage as if he only needs to concentrate on his vocals and timings. This is not a simple by any stretch. Geddy makes it look as if he was born with two sets of brain (looking at him it is arguable agreed) a true multi-tasking musician if there ever was one. Bravo! No many players can do Geddy's finger sound attack with both hands . This guy has done his lessons, soooo smooth and relaxed in his playing. . Simply amazing. Imagine how he'd sound on a Rickenbacker 4001 or Fender. Guess I ll use these videos to fix the corners I ve been cutting for years.

Very nice man. I became a RUSH fan in 1977, when I saw them play as lead up for Ted Nugent at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium! That was the 2112 tour, and I've seen every tour they've done since. What's really cool is that now I can afford to sit up front! What amazed me most was that Geddy was playing like he does, sings, AND plays foot pedals simultaneously! THAT is incredible!

from what i heard this past summer, it was exactly the same. i don't know of any songs where Geddy plays a simplified version. the only song where i have heard him say he had trouble playing bass while singing was Turn the Page. however, if you listen to A Show of Hands, he plays the original line and sings during the live performance.
