Great video, very informative. That tip to turn off auto target back is probably the best advise in any video for this game I have seen. Not sure if I want to jump in yet though. EVE still looks very hard to play.
Astronomical Unit is a measure of distance not speed. 1 AU= the distance between the Sun and the Earth aprroximately 93 million miles if I remember correctly or approximately 150 million kilometers. So you don't move in AUs your moving at kilometers a second.
I just want to thank you for making a clear video that was very informative and helpful. This game looks awesome and im going to install it tomorrow and i was wondering if you still play this game and do these buddy thingies that give you more free time?
I understand fully if you say no for us noobs spamming you with buddy requests.
I know skill points (advancement) in a skill can be lost when you die, but can skills you learned from a skill book be forgotten if you die, and you have to find the skill book to learn the skill again?
@Supermassively you can never *lose* a skill book that you've installed in your brain. But you *can* lose any time spent training the skill if you forget to update your clone. Don't forget to update your clone when you die.
@EndlessNerd But the most basic clone is enough to protect you from any skill loss above level 4 in all your necessary skills, right? I thought I might not even worry about buying better clones and might just stay at level 4 in all skills since I'll never catch up to the people who have been playing for years anyway.
@EndlessNerd I understand how it works, but the people who have been playing for years and years are going to have hundreds of skill points, so they're just going to gank me repeatedly. Seems like a waste of money to keep buying better clones when those extra few skill points over level 4 aren't going to make a difference against some uber veteran with an amazing ship.
@Supermassively well you see the clone cost of upgrading depends on your skill points, so that über veteran will pay a good 1000 times the amount of ISK you do WHEN he eventually dies
@Supermassively its still "cheaper* to keep your clone updated, as you'll have ways to make the isk easily by the time your clone is even expensive enough to matter.
@lancerbj You're inside of a "Pod" at all times. The pod is inserted into the ship. So when you eject in space or the station, you're still in the Pod.
While I understand that some people will like this I, from the look of this game, will not. It seems Extremmely boring. Just flying around in space and never landing on planets, no character interactions, no people fights instead of ship battles. It doesn't seem to be anything I like but other people might like it.
@MajorShepard It is very much a niche game! It is sustained by a relatively small, but loyal, subscriber base. You should look into "Dust 541", its a FPS they're designing based in the EvE universe, for the XBox 360.
@ddustyk If you're going combat, decide your focus. If you're just doing missions for awhile, the Stabber (cruiser) is a good next step, followed by the Hurricane (battle cruiser).
There's no reason to go beyond the Hurricane for quite awhile, as, when properly fit/skilled, it can do everything from lvl 4 missions, to decent pvp.
Remember this though : Better skills are more important than better ships.
@SaintLiam78 they used to sell time cards in stores, but I havn't seen them around in awhile. You can buy the retail EvE game at game stores (Hastings, Gamestop, etc.) for about $19.99, and it contains a game time card, as well as some bonus stuff for buying the physical copy. And while you could buy it again every month, I don't know if that's very economical.
very good tutorial and i hope you make some more and same lenght tutorials :) was very interesting to follow.
i dont play eve yet, but i would like to see/hear about some of the skills, what they do, how they work, and so on.
and maybe show some more of the tools you can use like cloke, drones, and so :) very gj

Just a question, I'm CONSIDERING... after a while, of cancelling my WoW, and buying EvE. Just one quesion, are credits equivalent to ISK?

@PWNLordFTW ISK = Inter Stellar Kredits. So, yeah :)
EndlessNerd 4 weeks ago
@EndlessNerd Huh. A few thousand per mission, when I get it, I'll buy a new ship in no time.

the only reason i haven't got this is because you got to pay every month

@outlawstar15a2 Yes, an AU is a unit of distance, AU/s is a unit of speed. It does translate to km/s but you don't have to.

@Supermassively No. Buy the clone that insures the number of skillpoints you have now. The you won't lose *any* skill points when you die.
