Sorry man but Fedor was never in any real trouble, watch the part where Rogers GnP's him again, he only really lands 2 solid blows the rest are glancing or miss entirely. That's how a fight goes anyway, not many of Fedors fights are clean wins, he'll always run into some difficulty. It's because he can move on through the difficulty without being affected mentally, hold his composure and his rock-solid win to pull through the victory that makes him stand above the rest.

Half the guys Carwin fought have like 3 fights, the other half have losing records. Face it Carwin is in that fight for the same reason Rogers is, its based on perception of ability and challenge that he can pose to the given champion. Negotiations tend to come down to how many chips you have. Affliction paid Tim and Andre big, big money to fight there (in fact as far as I know only Brock has ever recieved more for a fight than they did while in UFC). Andre was certainly still a top contender (especially if people saw Gonzaga as being such lost to Werdum, AA beat Werdum). Tim had lost a tough fight to Randy, he was never very popular and like Brock some people hated him, so UFC saw him as expendable, that is true.
