Although I loved the movie, I thought the book was alot better. Maybe the movie was a bit too childish, I guess i kinda saw this book as a tragedy until the end while in the movie, it is not portrayed that way. =[. Still, great attempt.

I wish this story was done by someone other than Disney. It's too amazing to have been dumbed down like this. However, Alice in Wonderland, the Wizard of Oz, and Roger Rabbit are all examples of where making it "kid-ish" made it more profound. So maybe that happened here as well. "Holes" is an amazingly brilliant and multi-dimensionally metaphoric story that deserves more than it's gotten.
